  1. Welcome to the game and to our server!

Any idea why your wife is getting motion sickness?
I know depth of field effects sometimes give me a headache.

  3. I'm going to need someone to remind me what prompted that tomb stone...
  4. Oh, the OpenGL update you mentioned, Texas Justice, do you know when they made that update? Is that recent, or are you saying it as more recent than 2002?
  5. Thanks for the advice!

I had forgotten that this system boots windows 98 off of the C: drive, placing 2000 on the D: drive with the game and the page file!
The page file has been moved to the C: drive, which is a separate physical hard drive, so I'm hoping that helps speed things up.

I think the physical memory may be at the maximum the manufacturer's settings may allow. I'll have to take a look around and see if I can find documentation on this model. Prior to i17 it was running CoH with 448mb.

I do usually defragement the D: drive after each patch for the game.
I think, no okay I know I have a lot of old junk on the drive that I can delete to free up some space, then I'll defrag some more.

The video card is the AGP version, and I am not sure if the slot is even AGP 2x. I remember trying a Radeon 9000XT in the slot a few years ago and the frame rate increase in the games I was playing at that time, The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights, was trivial.
  6. Generating City of Heroes Helper log now

    Edit:
It timed out a few times, but eventually got it

I have an old computer that I'll sometimes use to log onto CoH when my not so old computer is unavailable, not working, or I'm just feeling masochistic.

Ever since GR was released I have been having frequent issues loading zones before the client decides the connection has timed out and returns to the log in screen. The server seems to have not noticed that I've timed out, and when I re-enter my password it informs me the account is still logged in.

The system is clean of spyware and virus infection, non essential services are disabled, and I am not running any other programs.

Is there a way that I can speed up load time or increase the time before the client times out without violating the EULA and Terms of Service?

Are there compressed files that can be decompressed, or archives that can be split into smaller chunks so that data that isn't needed is not being processed? (Again, without violating the EULA or TOS?)
  9. I received a rare yesterday on a BAF when I was barley paying attention to the AV battle because I was too busy ranting about some thing or another to Animal.

  11. I don't know.
I'm still deleting tons of temp power recipes.

If there is a weighting system for the reward tables then I really hope they tweak it some.

The Astral Merit for the Acid is for collecting them all, not for destroying all the doors.
The Wiki has no mention of Astral Merits for destroying all the gates
Arbiter Hawk confirms how to get Astral Merits on the Lambda Trial
  13. A few of us ran into this same thing on Justice a few nights back, but instead of a random morality mission we ended up on the second mission of an Imperious Task Force.

About 15 min later another trial crashed and that group found themselves on the third map with the same task force group.
  14. Well, so far, I've managed to get nothing but uncommons this weekend.
Do I need to solo one of the AVs while spamming heals and buffs or something?

    Thanks Mermoine!

They should add another unobtainable easter-egg power named "censored"

Maybe with a text description along the line of Muxley from the Faultline arcs

For now on, instead of hitting random numbers keys (Ex @#*&#@) for cursing I'll type [censored], just for you Merm.

  19. Ah, yes, The RNG... My one true nemesis...

Sometimes I'll toss an AoE at the Hellions mugging people in the parking lot out side of WW on the way to check my bids on one of my 50. Sometimes I'll miss one, streak breaker will force the AoE to hit the second, and then it'll miss the 3rd.

I think it's just a streak of bad luck.

I know Purples are dropping, I even received one last night, even if it was just another Fortunata Hypnosis. Most people I team with will get giddy and announce when they receive one, and more often than not someone on the team will get one by the end of Imperitus' or Lady Grey's task forces.
  20. No one has demanded a shrubbery yet?
  21. The BAF I was on crashed, and now half the league is on a map with an Imperitus Task Force team.

I liked using a stealth IO and super speeding across the map to get far enough away from my "helpers" that they stopped following me.

Well, yeah, there's another issue there too.

Some people suffering from long term Altitis have multiple 50s, and hey you can't just settle on one of 'em right?
Gotta get them all their incarnate stuff and... oh... Trial A, Trial B, or obscene quantities of shards?

The Weekly Strike Target was really great for altaholics; each week you've a different TF/SF that you can do for new shineys?! Sure you could end up doing the same TF twenty times that week, but then next Tuesday it's a different TF!
New abilities! Bonus rewards! An excuse to dust off that concept character you want to blame on heavy drinking but were totaly sober when you rolled them! Best of all when it got stale there were many other TFs for the Devs to chose from for the next week!
  24. I was told it was random but with bonuses and penalties for your contributions or lack there of.

Does anyone have detailed information on this?

Nah, that couldn't possibly be it.
    I really agree here.

Hamidon raids have gotten easier as time has gone on and people have gotten better at what they do. I am not contesting that this is going to be the same for the incarnate trials.

Once we have experienced players with all their new fancy stuff the trials will still be more difficult than normal content, but experience and power will make them more manageable.

However, I can contribute at a Hamidon raid without Hamidon enhancements.
I can even contribute meaningfully if my character isn't even 50 yet and is missing half their enhancements.

Today I can contribute to the trial on my characters that only have their Alpha slot because that is all anyone else has. In a month I will be no less effective as today, but my contribution will be meaningless, and in some cases, actually hindering the event.
