Nah, not from Hawai`i...just some haole California girl (now living in Seattle) who decided to take up hula and as a result, Hawaiiana became part of her heart. My first kumu gave hula names those of us without Hawaiian names and named me after Mānoa Valley. When I joined COH and had to come up with a global name, I figured I'd use my Hawaiian name here too since it's one I already readily respond to.

She still plays Everquest and was in a raid yesturday that lasted 4 hours with no problem. She really likes the game, but I feel bad asking her because it makes her ill.

We lived aboard a sailboat, and she would get motion sick sitting on the pier. We wen't to the movies when it happened. I've seen ALOT of movies.
I've had issues ever since they introduced the ultra mode settings and have to be really careful with my graphics settings and the amount of time I play. The shadow mapping and FSAA settings can really tank the fps with some graphics cards and were triggering migraines when I played, so I've had to mess with the defaults a bit to get it to a point where I can play (and even still, low or no FSAA mess me up, so I have to deal with low fps and just limit my playtime). Not sure what kind of graphics card she's sporting or if these same settings are what is causing your wife's motion sickness, but it could be worth taking a look.
  4. I won't be able to make it again this week (I'll likely either be working or sleeping in so I can be compelled to work later, hard to say which quite yet ). But I just had to give two thumbs up for this week's title.

I can just imagine what kind of jokes came up during its construction. Just remember, it's a needle people, not...um...er...some other type of long cylindrical form with a bulbous top!

Glad Phantom had fun putting it together!

    Bad news

I am so very sorry to hear LSK. You and your family are in my thoughts and it's my hope you all are able to spend as much time as you are able with her.

Methinks you used last week's post as template and this is a carryover from said template.

I'll be there on a Level 50 somethingoranother.

    Phantom Enigma

Hi all! It's been awhile since our last update and I know Arwen's been pretty busy as of late. With the increased activity in the thread today, I hope she won't mind if I take the brief liberty to provide a quick Phantom update for those who are eager for an update.

Phantom's had an incredibly fantastic and busy week this week. He was moved from the ventilator to a CPAP machine at the end of last weekend and is breathing entirely on his own now. He was extubated earlier this week...swallowing okay and was cleared for real food last night (mashed potatoes, yum!). Arwen says he's giving great responses to his doctor and occupational therapist and that his memory is doing much better this go around and is retaining information very well. She reported Wednesday that Phantom was sitting in a chair watching cartoons and greeted her by kicking her (sibling rivalry intact, huzzah!). Her last report also indicated that he may even be moved out of ICU into a regular room sometime in the near future. Overall, amazing progress this week!

As always, Phantom's loved ones are very appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from our Justice family and I know they are incredibly thankful for everyone's well wishes, positive spirit, thoughts and prayers.

    10-key typo?

I can make it tomorrow. Count me in for both...I'll be bringing a Fire/Emp controller and Fire/Fire dom (hmmm, I should probably get a little practice in on the dom so I'll remember how to play her!).

    EDIT - Somber's interested too. He'll be bringing a something/something somethingoranother.

Very exciting news indeed! Yay Phantom!

Agreed. I have a large number of former players friended on Facebook and can certainly see why the Community Relations folks would want to do their Q&A this way. Perfect opportunity to reach out to these former players (who are unable to post on the forums), answer their questions directly and try to bring them back into the COH fold as Premium or VIP players. And those active COH players on Facebook can pass the word (word of mouth advertising). Also, it's a much format for Q&A than Twitter, which has that pesky character limit thing (not good for complex answers).
  20. Hey...if Sypder special requested this one, shouldn't he be on the list?

I think I can actually make one of these! I used to sleep in fairly late on Saturdays (too late to operate on Eastern time) and couldn't make it to the matinees. But I've been waking up a lot earlier lately (stupid cats wanting their stupid food). I may not necessarily be coherent (until I get teh caffeine in me), but I can be there!

Put me down with my Fire/Emp!

Not to mention had someone not been at the right place at the right time, the outcome could have been much, much worse. So despite things still being quite unknown and how frightening and emotionally nerve-wracking this all is for Arwen, their family and Kat, I honestly think anyone in such circumstances can't help but feel a certain sense of relief and gratefulness for the extra time granted and that there's hope.

Treasure that and be thankful that he is young and strong, and I am sure he will come through this.
I've been in contact with Arwen during this via text and Facebook and her tone has very much been as above.

If this were Facebook, the above would have a great big fat "like" with my name on it.

You guys are in our thoughts and I'm here if you need anything (I've already said as such in the elsewhere, but it doesn't hurt to reiterate). I'm looking forward to the day we see Phantom back in game with his ever so awesome and clever character names.

  24. I remember thinking the other day that it felt like something missing from Justice when I returned. Now I have my answer...Justice had a noticeable shortage of Perverse Sexual Lust.
