I'm also a huge fan of dark/dark but if you already feel that you might get bored with it then I'd suggest the warshade.

Oh wow this looks like it would be a blast!! I wish I could attend but I'm hosting a bbq and watching the UFC fights that night. I'll keep my eye out for any future events you host like this. Good luck and have fun

Quote:I love RPing out in open areas in hopes of random people joining in or stumbling upon RP going on and trying to join in. Sorry that they told you to go away..that sucks.Quick story.
So I was running back and forth between the University and the BM a few days ago. Then while at the crafting computer thingy in the University, I notice some IC Local chat. Oooh, neat, I think to myself, let's see if I can find these people and get some RP going.
I sneak around the University trying to find where these other players were hiding, so I could make a good entrance. Turns out they were on the second floor of the north end, which I didn't even remember knowing was there. So I listen in for a bit, and discover that the characters were some time traveling guy and a VEAT that possibly wasn't Arachnos, or Ex, or something. I approach, and attempt to get a decent conversation going.
Almost immediately, I'm essentially told to piss off.
I relay as diplomatically as possible that I was only looking to, well, chat. I'm told again, GTFO! So I left.
Call me crazy, but I -like- it when an RPer approaches me in a public location. Multiple times I've dragged VGmates out of the base kicking and screaming to try and get them out in the open to maybe find some other RPers. Some times it works, some times it doesn't. But geeze, maybe it's just my luck but it sure seems that these days, a lot of RPers do NOT want anyone else approaching them, anywhere, ever.

Oh man this is a great thread!! I love so many of these. Keep em coming!!

wow I didnt exeperience anything like this at all on my only run of this TF. I guess I got lucky. I didnt know much about this TF going in with my dark/dark/dark defender so I just tried to keep up best I could. I dont recall the enitre make up of our team but we breezed through the whole thing including the last fight. I guess I got lucky with my team.

These are all great and amazing characters, I wish I could come up with great ideas like this. Kudos to you all

wow I am sorry to hear about all these people not enjoying or not able to find decent RP. I stumbled across a great RP SG just over a year ago and have had the best time of my gaming life with them. When I'm not hanging out with them I try and RP in PUGs and have come across other great RPers and the ones who dont RP with me dont ridicule me or try and prevent it.
I guess I've just been lucky or I'm just having too much fun playing this great game to notice the bad stuff.
Please look me up if any of you want someone to RP with...although I am not a great RPer I do it to help immersion and escape from the everyday for awhile.

This as well. My SG runs awesome story arcs that takes weeks to play out and resolve. We have a great core group of players that have vivid imaginations. An absolute pleasure to be with and be a part of.

Great guide, I haven't really played a tanker (I have one at 12) because I prefer ranged toons but I may have to give one a serious try here soon. Thanks for the tips.

I like dual boxing but only do it with teams with my friends (and even then I make sure it's ok) I get enjoyment out of creating fun combos and making new characters.
I recently was allowed to dual box while doing the Synapse TF, I did fairly well, much better than I thought I would. It's not something I would do regularly but if there was an open spot I might ask the whole team if I could have the 2nd account tag along for the merits. -
I too am intrigued by this SG, I dont have the time to join as my SG keeps me busy but I would love to see how this progresses. I like the idea of permadeath and I wish you luck in finding more like minded players to join you. Have fun

This is a great thread 37, I may have some characters that need some help. I look forward to seeing what this thread does for others as well.

Congrats Pyro, I am extremely jealous and have started to drop hints to my g/f about getting one of these for myself.
CR - fantastic personal touches, kudos to you my friend for what looks to be a great rig.
And thanks again to both of you for sharing this endeavor with us all.
Enjoy Pyro -

Congrats Pyro on your upcoming new computer. I'm not going to lie, I'm really going to miss this thread and watching it grow and come to fruition. Thanks again to CR and Pyro for sharing this journey with us. I will be contemplating a new computer now.

CR, I loved the M.U.S.C.L.E. game for Nintendo. I also collected the figures and staged huge wrestling matches for myself to enjoy. Built a little ring for them to fight in too. Oh man I miss those days gone by. I still have a few of the figures left but I wish my mom hadn't sold them all in a garage sale years ago.
The other wrestling games for Nintendo I wasn't too good at though.
Seeing all this computer goodness is really making me jealous and eyeing up my bank account. I too would love to see a ballpark figure so I can judge what it would take me to get this done for myself. -
This is shaping up to be a dream rig for sure, great work CR, I like what I see so far. Thanks again to you and Pyro for sharing this with us, I have enjoyed the trip and the knowledge you have shared with us. I don't know much about building computers and their parts so following this has taught me a lot. Makes me want a custom computer badly so I can reap the benefits of the upcoming graphics upgrade.
