  1. The three enhancments in CJ are a waste.

    Other than that, it is a very nice, concise guide. I went with Air Sup/Fly instead of Jump for another attack - but that is just personal preference.
  2. I meant that perhaps scorpions shield is Def and that stacks with your existing def which may make it useful. But sciroccos Resistance shield is on its own. Resist does not stack with def.

    and on its own, a resist toggle isn't useful imo. Manuevers would be more useful that that it addes to existing def - even if it is only 2%.

    Don't get me wrong, PP powers do work. I just think all the other powers available to us are better.
  3. Wouldn't know about Scorpion. since it didnt fit with my concept I didnt even look at it. The only one that seemed to fit ok was scirocco and his shield does NOT stack. the recharge on the attack makes it useless. I have no need for an AOE immob or a hold in my build. I can effectively do both without the patron powers - but better(FF, RB). On the whole, it is just more efficient to use existing powers and/or dip into another pool (in my case Stamina). The Patron adds nothing to my build.

  4. Excellent guide. My Bot/FF is at 45 now, and I concur with almost everything. I'd just like to add my 2 cents.

    1. I think you unfairly devalue the use of Repulsion bomb. True, it is not the same as it used to be, but I personally have come to favor the tactic of opening on a mob with this attack and telling the bots to attack whatever isn't disoriented. I have it slotted with 1 acc 3 disorient and 2 recharge. Coupled with the disorients from your bots - even bosses can get dizzy.

    2. Detention field with 3 recharges effectively comes up again 1 sec after the shield drops. This lets the mob get 1 shot before you trap him again. With all your defense that 1 shot will likely miss.
    Extremely useful tactic on bosses/avs and some EBs: you practically take them out of play while your teammates/bots cleanup. I use it almost everytime when soloing. On a team - only against an av and I give everyone fair warning. slot with acc though, cause you don't want to miss. Recluse' SF comes to mind. You go into Bodyguard mode (for when the 1 shot gets through) and use det field to effectively perma hold an AV while your team takes other AVs. Invaluable.

    3. Combat Jumping is handier than Hover or air supp. I'd recommend going with the leaping pool. And CJ is less end heavy than fly. Besides - all your bots now leap, so they can easily keep up with you this way.

    4. I personally find the patron powers to be less effective than what you already have to choose from and won't be using them at all.

    5. whatever you do, do NOT use Autoit v3 to automatically do stuff. It violates the license agreement. So don't make any scripts to automatically bubble all your bots every 4 minutes or to upgrade all your bots with 1 click. And don't pm me for sample scripts of how this is done.

    My current PvE (I don't PvP) build that I LOVE:
    (I will likely take either the rifle burst for more dmg or the photon grenade to couple with Repulsion Bomb for bosses next)

  6. good lord - a whole zone of those arachnos lag maps.
    It's pretty, but dealing with the lag/disconnects is just not worth it. So much for lvl 40+ Will stick to making new characters.

    I'm sure my math is wrong - that's what I meant. I guess what I'm looking for is a sample formula replacing the textual definitions with real values. Cause it isn't making sense to me.

    I know - I'm dumb - One would think that a masters and 15 years experience in software development would prepare me for this, but I'm at a loss.

    I calculate the just the basics and
    I get:
    Bounded[ (.75) * (AccuBuffs) * (AccDebuffs) * Bounded[ (.75 + ToHitBuffs - ToHitDebuffs + Defense - DefenseDebuffs) ] ] = .05

    I've read through the enite post and it just makes my head hurt. I sure wish I could do this, It's really hard figureing out how to slot pets.
  10. May I propose a change to the conventional thinking on Raids?

    I understand the need for 1 Bubble so its easier to follow ppl without having "follow" on, but I suggest that all Bubblers have dispersion bubble up and they all use auto-follow to stay with the 1 bubbler lead. This way all the bubbles will be in one place and there wont be confusion on who to follow.

    The reason is as follows: Bubbles stack. and that defense is AoE. I have heard the arguement that Hami dmg is untyped and therefore indefensible, but Positron's explanation of defense indicates that the AoE portion should be kicking in - REGARDLESS OF TYPE. It is AoE all.

    I know for a fact that I personally have had PFF up and when Hami started hitting the group and it protected me. Everyone around me went down.

    At the very least, it is worth a test.

  16. Well thats nice, but not really necessary - now that we have all these extra slots we can fill with end reductions.

    Personally, what I'd rather see is an increase in the value you get for returning enhancements. The entire community is going to purchasing worthless enhancments by mistake and not realizing it until they have already bought them and tried to slot them then the calculator tells them how little use it is.
    "Drat - that 36000 influence Damage SO is only going to give me 5%, I should have bought and Endurance reduction instead and I don't have any influence left."

    I know you would never even consider making the return of an enhancement 1 for 1 (though that's what it SHOULD be by all rights), but at least up the return value a little. There is nothing so dissappointing as throwing influence down the drain by accidentally purchasing something you didn't meant to. That is now going to be happing a LOT more often.

    After all, When we are trying shop - we are purchasing stuff based on completely uninformed guesses as to how your system is going to accept (or not accept) what we buy. And it doesn't look like there is anything coming that will help us figure this all out.

    When is the stealth defense of use? if you are attacking or are getting hit it gets halved for ten seconds, but if you are attacking or get hit, you are going to keep attacking or get hit until one of you is down... so def stays at half. Doesn't it?

    When is it not half? When you are just standing there.

    Please explain the reason I need defense when I am just standing there not attacking or getting hit.

    5 floors later it is not so cool having to basically STOP playing to walk this VERY SLOW npc all the way back down - many times having to go in and out of elevators before he will take it. It took me 10 minutes just to walk him out of an otherwise cleared map.

    BAD. VERY BAD.

    BORING.

    NOT FUN.

    WANT REFUND.
