  1. Couple random thoughts as I was reading:

    Thaddeus?

    "Mako's Creek" (hee hee)

    Ooh, shiney.
  2. I think I found a couple bugs with this one: Anyone else having Day Job icons go wierd? Like having them show up where they shouldn't be, or have a dozen heavily stacked pop at once?

Also, now it seems my Dual Blades character has forgotten he has a second sword. There are times when he will go through the Broadsword animation, rather than the correct one when drawing his weapons.
  3. Not to mention all the players, hell even entire SGs who's concepts are Ex-Villains. Apparently, the only valid way to call yourself an Ex-Villain is the only one that's not available to players yet, if ever.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
When this goes live, I'll be earning merits even if I don't touch Doc Q's TF (for instance,) just at a slower rate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Minor nitpick, even with the higher reward for Doc Q, it's already been figured that the shorter TFs are still the faster way to earn merits, anyway. It's just that, for those that already want to go through the TF, they aren't stuck with teh exact same reward they would have gotten on one of those ten minute TFs.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I have not seen one person really make the argument yet that they love doing long 4 and 5 hour taskforces which is in truth exactly what this update is all about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My name is M I Abrahms, and I don't hate teaming, or my teammates.

    [ QUOTE ]
And what I said about being friends with the dev's isn't a "git" it's an observation about a regular core of posters here who's noses are browner than the air in Bejing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, the only acceptable response is Dev-hate?

    [ QUOTE ]
Don't accuse me of drama because I had the guts to come in here and dissent and tell the truth.

    Here is one of them:
"The vast majority of players do not like long TFs"

    [/ QUOTE ]

They don't like moderate ones, either from what I'm seeing. It seems to boil down to 'Give me my reward, and get me the hell away from these unwashed things that call themselves teammates.'

    [ QUOTE ]
So the idiocy of using the Merit system to force gamers to do more long TF's is obvious. Defending this merit system as is, is buffoonery at best and you can all insult me and flame me all you want.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It wouldn't matter if Doc Quaterfield gave 900 merits at the end of his Task Force, there is still NOTHING forcing you to run his TF. The Devs don't send armed soldiers to your house to stand over you and make sure you sit through that contact. It's a reward, intended for those that actually don't hate the rest of the people that play this game. You still have faster options available, and now you can even earn merits 100% solo.
  6. I'm confused. If the leveling Pact is splitting XP equally, how could one character get ahead of the other? The way you have it written, it almost sounds like you have to have your partner log in every time you level, or your character is stuck and unable to advance.
  7. Status Reports
    Star Strider Force
    Name: Professor Nutronious
    Global Contact: @M I Abrahms
    Reporting on Assignment: Protector
    Level of Alien Threat [Medium]:

    Report Details:

Utilizing the reports of telemetrty based troop deployment, have increased production on Battle Drones. Drones simultaniously capable of acting as surveilance, back up communication lines. Also, Drones register false-positive for meta-human presence to Rikti targetting. Result; more even spread of invasion, offering Retaliation squads less concentrated targets.

    Analysis of Current Situation:

Heavy demand required use of less durable materials, resulting in weaker than normal drones. Have now set up command protocols to divert Meta-presence to deactivated drones. Will need to finish designs of recovery drones to recycle deactivated units.

    Suggestion of Action:

    i) Negotiate with organization designated "Goldbrickers" for mid-level tech/materials. These supplies can be used bothe for maintenanceof Medi-port grid, as well as surveilance/comms. NOTE: The Goldbrickers themselves are untrustworthy. Will likely make an attempt to better their barganing side through theft. Suggest having moderately restricted, unclassified mid level technology made known to them, as distraction. Also, attempts to aquire Rikti contraband likely.

ii) Criminal organization classified "Circle of Thorns" have vested interest in the area of both Cap au Diable and Sharkhead Isles. Suggest opennegotiations to attempt to make use of Rikti weakness to energy type classifies 'magic'. NOTE: To protect netotiators from possible Circle of Thorns threat, suggest making negotiations attempt through tele-conference.

iii) Utilizing varied information sources, have discovered attempt from rogue Vigilanties to engage in counter-offensive. According to sources, they willattempt to utilise the appearance of one Vigilanty in particular as a form of 'psycological attack'. Suggest locating Vigilanties in question and halting efforts, as this will likely extend Rikti attacks.

  9. The way I read the PvP portion of the interview was that they discovered in testing that instead of a "Rock/Paper/Scissors" game, PvP was just "Rock/Scissors". Now the question remains, is the new system "Rock/Paper/Scissors", or just "Scissors/'Paper"?
  10. That's a hell of a story for a dark Halloween night, Grey.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Are the invasions announced in the chat window like the other zone events?

    [/ QUOTE ]Yup.
  12. It's a timed event, basically a Rikti Invasion, but with zombies.

EDIT: Isn't Bedlam the contact you take the Costume salvage to for another costume slot?
  13. My first thought was 'BABs isn't going to like this.' They used the 'wrong' animation for the Talsorian shield in that vid.
  14. Thanks, both of you. I missed the bit about 'most but not all' and it's always good to make an attempt to understand both sides of any discussion.
  15. I'd like to throw out a hypothetical question to the people that don't like the 30 days., mostly to satisfy my own curiosity.

You say you don't like that it will take a year to get all the jobs listed. Well, what if the jobs they've given us are only half of the whole list? What about if it's only 1/4?

I don't know how many jobs are actually available, but with the first possibility, even 15 days off line would still take a year to get all of them. The latter possibility means that getting one job every week wouldn't be fast enough.

Basically, is the 'year' estimate only for THESE jobs, or ALL jobs?
  16. I'm curious as to whether the Double XP time for being On Patrol will appear in temp power form. If so, I would hope those that don't want to participate can just delete the power.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Am I the only one that thought "Scooby Doo!" when I realized there are 2 guys, 2 females, and a "dog" and they were presented with a mystery?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope. Hence why I had to stop it when I did, that was when I realized what was going on.
  18. OK, I had to stop the track at 1:15 to laugh for a bit once I caught on to what was going on. Hang on, lemme finish listening.

Edit: Hee hee hee. Funny stuff. Good all around.
  19. Huh. Anyone catch the special guest stars in w00t's new show? Or am I way to late with this?
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Is this a temp power ala Halloween or are we talking about the actual ability wear PPD Hardsuit as a costume on our characters?

If it's the latter, I will totally be stopping by the booth.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd bet that it's just like the Freakshow costume power they gave out at the last convention, it's just like the temp power given out for Halloween, but without a timer.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
"Oh, that's Mike Abrahms. Calls himself M. I."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh heh. Was this in that chapter before this morning?
  22. Just want to confirm that the first four in that list simply don't load. The last one shows it loading, but never actually plays.
  23. The wait was worth it by the way, lots of great lines in this episode.
