Well, non-submission arcs are always a bit more difficult because we don't get spoiler permission. We can't really say WHY we thought the arc was good or bad, so that puts it more in the realm of Filler. It can't be the main focus of the show, because we CAN'T focus on those arcs as much as we wanted.
As for the show itself, it's entirely possible for someone to pick up where I left off. Even if they're not a current KJSR.net DJ they could sign up to restart the show. However, if it is brought back, for my own reasons, I'd be taking a much smaller role, if I'm involved at all. -
Quote:Just a note - I've seen that ninja helmet make a wicked looking tech helm. All it needed was one of the old visors.I, for example, don't make Ninja characters. though I do make quite a few "Natural" heroes. So why does the Natural Booster have to be ninjas? My does the magic booster have a ton of -Clothing- options when my magic character isn't a wizard or a sorceror, but instead inherently magical?

I would love to see a Regen from their hayday face Recluse and the towers, just to see how they'd do.

Yeah, I'm not seeing it, even from these pictures I can see a build difference between the two. Burke has a visibly larger physique than Mongoose.

I saw someone named "Penetrator" recently on Protector. Admittedly not so bad on it's own, but the character looked like my namesake, stripped to his skivvies and wearing the Enforcer boots. And the character is an eight foot heavy model with the physique slider all the way up.

Quote:You know, I think this is something we can all agree on. Now we just need to convince the devs.I've long supported this mentality. Blueside has a whole lot of mediocre content that's just sitting there waiting to get a facelift. Redside has less content but it's of a substantially higher caliber and playability.
Personally, just because if the only things happening blueside are revamps and no new actual content is being added, I'd want to alternate between new zones and revamped zones: every blueside alternates between revamped (like the new Positron) and new content (like the ReichsTF) while villains just keep getting new content (like the ReichsTF). Development resources are still being divided equally, both sides are improving on a roughly equal basis, and it addresses the major concerns of content on each side individually rather than attempting to address their separate concerns with the same band-aid. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure that's the Oracle's Island. The one you sail to in mission one of the ITF.I'm guessin' it'll have something to do with that building on a hill you can see through the zone boundary....

Anyway, back on topic, I think Incarnate levels sound a lot like a mechanic I first saw in Dark Age of Camelot (not saying they came up with it, it's just where I saw it first). When they hit level cap, they have ten levels of...stuff (never looked that closely) in which they earn more powers and abilities, but their base stats stay the same. I just wish I could remember what they called it.
Wiki to the rescue it seems. They call them "Master Levels". Obvious, really. -

No good, because that penalizes the people who don't want to use the wand, either because their character casts without one, or because their magic origin is in the form of enchantments to their own body.
-
Quote:Well, that seems more like alternate animation for powers, than any real origin related perk.I don't see what would be wrong with trying to add perks for origins once again? Like people have said they wanted a magic wand for their magic characters. Maybe give people the power to case their powers to cast their powers from a wand. Make it a toggle power or something so that it can be turned on and off
-
That mean you're calling the mechanic that measures your progress along the Incarnate Levels iP?

Quote:The question is, can you point to a suggestion that fulfills all of the following? That's because anyone that suggests anything of substance tied to origins is shot down by a very vocal minority screaming about why their origin can't have [that] instead of [this]. Because [that] might perform equally well, but it's shinier than [this].
[This] is why we can't have nice things. :P
A) is balanced across all origins
B) is equally beneficial to all ATs
C) is not horribly overpowered
D) still worthwhile to take the time to code
E) doesn't restrict content to certain Origins -
I think it's mostly a mix of a holdover from before the Alpha change, and an opportunity for those that enjoy RP to explain their powers. Before the change, Origin DID have an effect on the game, to the point where only certain powers could be selected by certain origins. That was decided to be too restrictive, so it was altered to the current state, where one origin could do anything.
This was also brought up back when the origin aligned temp powers were introduced. There was a concern that if there was too much power it would mean people would want to lean characters of a certain AT to a certain origin or be gimp. For ecample, Controllers should be Tech because of the hold in the Tazer.
The problem with making the origin mean something mechanics-wise is that it has to be balanced enough not to slant peoples power selections. I'm sure folks would love to have something decent attached to the origin, we just have no idea what it could be yet. -
Quote:The problem is, why would Villainous characters WANT to run those TFs? They will be open in Going Rogue to the Villains on their way to being Heroes, but the Villains who stay Villainous complain about TFs where we save THIS world, why would they care about some other one that's already smashed to hell?My humble opinion is that they should open Shadow Shard dimension to villains and give them own contacts so villains can do those TF's (SF's). That would be fastest way to give 4 new and really long SF's to villains.
EDIT: This kind of ties in to what I said earlier. Vilalins have gotten plenty of Heroic missions to run, but very scant on content that actually fits the theme. The entire VEAT 'story' could be stitched together and be about as long as one 35+ arc for the Kheldians. Apart from that, what have they had? Well, there was the Ouroboros TF where you helped Recluse gain control of the islands, and one in which you...essentially have a dream sequence, because the events of that TF NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENED. After that, there was the one arc for Mercedes Sheldon - the same time Heroes got three arcs from the same person. What else was there? -
Quote:First off, it would not require that long to make the Villains happy, really just filling in the Strike Force gap would go a long LONG way in that regard. And secondly, even those that would like to get close to the same amount of content Heroes has, it would not have to be all at once. Just that some steps were taken to reduce the disparity between the two sides, instead of expanding it further.Assuming that the time periods should be equal to the time from the initial release of CoH to the initial release of CoV, it would necessitate a period of 17-18 months.
EDIT: Would one Villain centric Issue out of ten be too much Villain focus? -
Small note: City of Villains came out 18 months after City of Heroes. That's less than two years of exclusivity out of 6. And I can't really get behind your argument about CoH needing more content because it has more players because it has more content, either.

Technically what was advertised as base raiding NEVER fully came online. People had the ability to engage in 'practice raids' up until I13, which essentially were PvP on player generated maps (the defending Super Group base).
The original design for base raids, something that was originally slated to go live with CoV, was that of taking Items of Power from other Super Groups. There was a raid style event called the Cathedral of Pain in which up to three teams were to attack the Shadow Shard to get these Items, which would grant bonuses to anyone in Super Group mode. Having one of these Items would make the Super Group leader set a window or time, two hours each week, where other Super Groups could enter the base and attempt to take the Item for their own.
Unfortunately, either the Trial or the Items themselves have never worked right. Exploits and bugs have plagued the entire system. What may have been the killing blow was when the devs tested, that's when they found out about PvP's imbalance, and thus the PvP changes. -
Quote:I guess I missed that part. Still, though if she's not comfortable using lethal force, I don't think she should be pushed into it. Being a Hero is a rough life, when you really look at it. It wouldn't be a bad thing if she realized that it wasn't the life for her.Interesting points, and I see what you're saying except for one thing: She has no choice how she fights - the blades manifest magically, and there's been at least one case where she was unable to dismiss them when she wanted to. They aren't weapons she picks up and puts down at will.
The question of whether someone with her mindset should be out there "heroing" at all is a valid one, but the WAY she fights... that's not a choice she has. -
Sadly, no. There just weren't enough submissions to justify a third season.
-
Personally, I'm going to take the less popular road and ask why she's being kept in the Hero biz, and if she really needs to be a Hero, why keep with the lethal implements? I get that she needs to be trained to protect herself in case this prophecy comes to pass, but it's clear she's not the killing type, and keeping her on this path is trying to make her become one. There's a dozen different Naturally aligned ways for her to non-lethally continue as a hero, and that's not even getting into the different effects she could potentially produce with her magic. And she can still train with the knives in her off time, she'd just be training without, y'know, killing people.

I have one such character at the moment. I rolled him when they added the bonus damage to Sniper Rifle when Targeting Drone was on. He was, and is, a Wolf Spider Huntsman, who decided that while the ideals of Arachnos are still a good thing, it's current leadership is decidedly not. Once Going Rogue hits, he's going to take a quick trip back to get all of his real Spider Gear, rather than the cheap knock-offs he's been working with all this time.

There was a thread several weeks ago about about how the Wikia version of Paragonwiki is infected where it was brought up that Vidiotmaps is also compromised.
