My only issue with Issue 9 remains this. The feature (which I love don't get me wrong) means SG members tend to grind much harder for infamy/influence now then prestige. Large groups are not effected much but small groups are if they really wanted that upgrade to their base. (Although I have a large SG, I know several other SGs that are starting to get a bit worried).
Allow a percentage slider for missions from 100% infamy/influence to 100% prestige.
This way you can get 50/50 if you would like to do both. -

Maybe a title system is in order...

This brings to mind an idea I had earlier. Would it be possible to implement some sort of "typing" option for posts? Such as being able to choose between: On Topic, Off Topic, and Both, and then make the different kinds easily distinguishable?
That way we could have "Johnny A" reading through a thread, and let's say he doesn't mind completely off-topic posts and enjoys reading them, so he'll just ignore the differentials and read through normally. Then comes along "Katie B" that finds a thread about a planned event, but doesn't want to sift through "off-topic" posts, she can just look at the area of the post that's around the subject line, and see whether it's one of the three options, and if it's Off-Topic, she can skip it and move on.
I'd like to know if this would be possible, it would probably help.
*Editted to include a response to Sooner's post above mine*
You forgot to include me! I own the middle ground, or atleast rent it..

I think this is the best idea I have heard yet.
On topic, off topic, mixed.
You walk in with both eyes open. -
I would ask from the devs to define (other than saying "stay on topic") "threadjacking" in their eyes.
Please give an example of an appropriate threadjack and an inappropriate thread jack. I think their is a fine line between the two. Defining the problem is always the first step in coming up with a solution. I have found by not doing this appropriately "KNEE-JERK" reactions take place.
In our case I think there is a scale: On-topic, nearly on-topic, off-topic, humourous banter, debate, arguing, being spiteful/personal attacks, to any worse possible offenses.
Where is the grey area where it is okay?
There are forums for information. This is the protector forum where we have COMMUNITY.
Community includes banter, or life becomes boring. We have sticky threads for information (Maybe we just need to add a few more)
Just my two cents. -

A decent digital camera, which is almost the same price as a good scanner would be able to take your pics any size, have photo editing software to crop it, and have a cable to instantly post a jpeg.

ewww good call! That didnt even cross my mind. -
Hi, although I have been trolling these boards for a while I have never posted any of my personal art.
I thought it would be fun to run a costume contest on my home server of protector and I would attempt a drawing of the winners.
Few things about me I already know and learned as I attempted this.
1. I have never had an art class...ever. (Something I need to rectify but at age 38 I am not sure how I would pick up on something like this).
2. That said, although I am an avid reader of comics and love the art, I do not have good fundamentals down of skeleton/muscle structure, hands, faces, shading, inking, etc.
3. I know that (unlike some contestants on American Idol) I have no dillusions that I can even compete on the same level as some of the artists on this forum.
Those things known up front, I classify myself as "Beginner to not horrible" I am a big critic of my own work. I realize that my muscle structure is off, my shading is lost and unorganized and I have issues with keeping dimensions correct from one body part to the other.
I have also learned that when doing a drawing on 14 x 17 paper that my scanner CANNOT fit this in. So I went to a copy shop and found out no device they have can fit 14 x 17 either without cutting off the feet (which you will see in my picture).
I learned that artists pencil sets are really cool and am starting to understand the difference in soft vs hard and how necessary it is to keep them sharpened.
I learned about nibs when inking. I had never even heard of a "nib" when I started.
So this experience has taught me to try even harder next time.
Although my scanned picture looks much worse than my actual drawing I hope you will look at it and give me any pointers.
What I am actually looking for is someone who wouldn't mind helping me out with the picture for these winners and taking a stab at coloring it. I have some idea about layers but when I attempted, I realized to stay in my small lane.
Anyhow, here are the original shots (From left to right in pic) and the last is the picture
Shadowgirl
Aemon Algiz
Sorceress Queen
Jellicat
and finally my drawing (go easy on me)
Costume Contest winners
Btw if you know of a scanner that can tackle pics of that size let me know, I may just buy the thing! -
Nice, maybe the authors can drop in some screenshots too

My 9 year old daughter wanted to take a stab at drawing TA when she saw me looking through the forum. I was only able to scan her work in and move it onto a background which is where my editing skills end. I have no idea how to color her picture although it is in true color data type format, when I click to use bucket fill nothing happens. Old Dad just cant hook his daughter up
But here ya go TA Thors Assassin by Kylie -
Wow, Zek, I hadn't seen all this before. What an awesome storyline and setup you have for this. Cant wait to see more.

Hi Guys, I am Warface, and I love the work! I am writing from Fallujah Iraq so the connection is very slow and I can only check the boards weekly. But I would like to thank Guildhelper personally for hooking me up before I left for Iraq. Great work, and I can't wait to see the final product.........and If any of you are on the Protector server when I get back in 6 months..........stop by and say hello! It will be good to be home!
