Taunt is far far far too late in the build.
You won't need two Acc's in anything when you get Focused Acc slotted up.
Shouldn't need those extra slots in SJ.
Think about getting Weave in there somewhere. Some Def is a lot better than no Def IMHO.
Barrage can be dropped for other things. Its weak and once you get the other EM attacks, there's little use for it.
There's other minor slotting stuff, but that's more personal preference.
Hopefully that sounded constructive. -
Finally, I have decided a course of action. In the end, the tyranny echoing from Striga Isle has made the decision all too obvious.
This Sunday 26th March, I'm proposing to lead Onslaught on a double header: Moonfire at 10am and Hess at 2pm. Sign-up below or simply show up at the meeting point (around the Trainer in Striga, Ravenstorm) at the appropriate time.
Moonfire TF information here and here.
Hess TF information here and here.
I know these TF's are a bit shorter than normal, and thatÂ’s the intention: get in there, kill everything and be done in good time for the 2pm run. I would like to eat lunch one Sunday in eight.
Hopefully there'll be plenty of you to abuse the overlapping level range of these two TF's as well. Moonfire is 23 - 28 and Hess is 25 - 30, so those 25 - 28 will be very well catered for.
Now IIRC Hess has to be "unlocked" before his TF can be started, so if you're bringing a toon with that facility, please let me know below.
The intention is to do the Shadow Shard 1 TF next week (the day after April Fools seems like a fitting time to do the looooooooooooooooooooooooongest TF in the game), so this gives you a bit more time to get those toons to 40 for it and any of the others Shards TF's I decide to organise.
MBar will probably be attending both runs, even though he's already done Moonfire.
Any questions, ask below or get me in-game @MBar. -

I'd quite like an End recovery power from the Epics/Patrons
[/ QUOTE ]Seeing as brutes have access to the DM/EA combo and it's THREE endurance powers, I'd say it's very unlikely.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats one combination out of many, but yes, the best I can hope for is something like Energy Mastery and hence Conserve Power.
But still ...
/em crosses fingers -
Ah, you've avoided the End-hungry Death Shroud and Tough. I'm built for wannabe-Tanking, so have those for Taunting goodness and extra survivability.
So thats a total of 7 toggles running atm:
Dark Embrace
Murky Cloud
Obsidian Shield
Tough
Combat Jumping
Acrobatics
Death Shroud
Admittedly, I'm not too badly off with two End Red SO's in each toggle and one in each attack, but I have sacrficed Damage for End, and I'd quite like an End recovery power from the Epics/Patrons so I can get Cloak of Fear or Oppressive Gloom into the build somewhere. -
Hello, I'm Seethe a lvl 40 Fire/DA Brute.
He's my CoV Main Toon. Have a look at the link in my sig for more info etc.
A more End-heavy comination is there not ... -
And so concludes the Onslaught on the Freedom Phalanx's Taskforces. The Devouring Earth's Giant Monster is decimated and Woodsman's soul is freed.

Still undecided with what to do next Sunday. MBar himself still needs Hess, Caverns Trial and Shadow Shard 1, but that's being selfish.I'll decide at some stage, I dunno.
But for now, have some group shots:
Task Force Amethyst (am)
Task Force Amethyst (pm)
Details of the next TF in a new thread whenever I decide which one(s) I'll organise next. -
[ QUOTE ]
Now, are those times GMT or CET? I assume GMT and will try for the early spot.
[/ QUOTE ]
They are indeed GMT. -
/em scrabbles about looking for a reason to bump the thread
er ... erm ...
A team-list! Yeah, that'll do!
[list][*]MBar (Tanker) / Amanda Pierson (Blaster)[*]Nucleopatra (Defender)[*]Jacob Hell (Scrapper)[*]a Gilliam alt (Tanker)[*]Vixen Medic (Defender, I assume)[*]Tufty (Defender)[*]an Unthing alt (???)
Plenty of Defenders apparently ...
Still have to get my Blaster to 35 for one of the runs, which may or may not be a bit of a problem. Meh, I'll drag Darkshift along to one of the times if I don't get there in time. -
Have a look at this thread for a seemingly good Archery vs. Rifle discussion.
-
... in terms of Damage Mitigation. There's plenty of negatives to the Stone set, literally in the form of -Recharge, -Speed, -Damage etc etc.
But then, I am an Invuln fanboi. -

I get confused between Numina and Eden trial. It's been a long time since I did them mind you! Which one is Numina?
[/ QUOTE ]
Have a look at the TF information I linked in the first post. Its the one with the endless number of hunt missions.
Edit: Hmmm, no souvenir text included in the links, if thats what you're looking. Should be somewhere else though.
Edit2: Here we go. -

just I didn't like the mace itself. I thought it could have been more.. I dunno. Intimidating, perhaps.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have the same problem with the axe.. I made an Ice/Axe tank thinking it'd be great to go round hacking things up with a big axe.. what do we get.. a little one handed cheese knife.. Would like to see it replaced to something bigger, like the size of a stone mallet
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, it kind of annoys me too that weapons like the Axe and Broadword are always used with only one hand. Get both hands on it and ut some force into it, you wuss! -
[ QUOTE ]
Overall, probably Ice primary and Mace/Axe secondary.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. I've seen one Axe and one Mace in my time in CoH.
Edit: Btw, they're not bad sets or anything, they just seem out of favour in general. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd take CoD before Death Shroud (if you're set on taking Death Shroud, though with EN being mostly single target it might help) I didn't take Death Shroud cause I saw it as a big end issue waiting to happen.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd not take / didn't take CoD at all, Stealth = less agrro = less Fury
[ QUOTE ]
I'd have Barage instead of Energy Punch, builds fury nicely, replaces Brawl, and is generally very handy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have both Barrage and Energy Punch, and not Whirling Hands. Not enough damage in the AoE for me.
[ QUOTE ]
I like having Build Up in my build but its really not something I use that often, mostly at the start of fights. I currently have 3 rchg reds in it, but will be changing to 1 when I respec. Maybe move that to later and bring CoD forward
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I'm not sure about the usefulness of Build-Up anymore myself. Good to have, not exactly a crisis if you don't. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
It's poo, the animation is awful and the damage is a lot weaker than a nova.
[/ QUOTE ]
you kidding me? dont have it myself, but im going for it on my kin/arch defender.
you typical nova: BI 15-20, recharge 360 seconds. full end drain. PBAoE/Targetted AoE
Rain of Arrows: BI 10.8, recharge 60 seconds, only a small end cost. Location AoE
I would DEFFO prefer RoA above other novas.
When teamed with an achery blaster (Hey there flech) every 3rd group dies VERY fast. and thats just an added extra to the team.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly.
Only every third group? With that recharge time, its every 1 to 2 groups. -
Got Rain of Arrows yesterday on my Blaster, and its now three slotted for Damage (although with limited testing since that occured).
Yes, its weak compared to other Novas, but thats because it isn't a Nova. It doesn't suck your End or leave you Stunned or anything, its just another power basically. And it recharges five times faster than any of the proper Novas. Don't be expecting to exterminate herds with it, but the damage is plenty enough.
I'm liking it so far. Even the animation. -
Amanda Pierson : lvl 33 Archery / Electric Blaster
Don't worry, Rain of Arrows will sort them emotes out. -
Last Sunday, an overwhelming supply of 43 heroes converged on Crey Industries and thoroughly smashed them again and again. The Onslaught grows and grows, but as if to restore the balance of the world, the evil within Paragon's limits reaches out across its entirety. However, Numina has been keeping a psychic eye on events and the Onslaught are only too happy to be her instrument of retribution.
So we meet at Numina on Sunday, 19th March, at 10am and 2pm. Sign-up below to confirm your attendance or simply show up at Numina herself (just beside the Trainer, Infernal, in Founder's Falls) at the time which best suits you.
TF information here and here.
Level range is 35-38, minimum team size required is 4. Evidence indicates that we could get this done in 3 hours, with the main time-consuming bit being the travelling around the city for the large number of hunts within the TF. Should be enough time to kill everything that moves in either session.
Any questions, ask below or get me in game @MBar. -
Well, I thought the 30 heroes attending Citadel the week before was an achievement. Today, six teams (2 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon), a compliment of 43 heroes took on Manticore's tasks and came out victorious.
I mean .. it was just ... wow. Thanks one and all to all those who attended. Biggest TF meeting I've ever seen.
The second instance of Task Force Chimera
(yes, there was so many teams running Manti had to recycle names)
(Left to Right)
Sammeal (Scrapper)
Last Chance (Controller)
Captain Neutrino (Defender)
Amanda Pierson (Blaster)
Wedge (Tanker)
Hell Frozen Over (Blaster)
GlobeFighter (Tanker)
Numina next week, details to follow in the usual new thread. I'll should probably expect a total of 50+ heroes. -
Good job to both teams on the 10am run, XP aplenty.
Task Force Chimera
(Left to Right)
Artist of Shredding (Tanker)
Amanda Pierson (Blaster)
TsubaXIII (Scrapper)
LastChance (Controller)
Reactor Core (Defender)
Echo Lima Tango (Blaster)
Cinch (Controller)
Katianna (Scrapper)
See you all at 2pm. -
Probelm solved, mate, I probably won't be attending, I completely forgot that I have to get my Blaster to 30 before tomorrow. Bah.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I'm up for this with Trill if I'm still in level range
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, you are for now. Top of the range is 35, whether you want to exemp or not if you get above that before then is of course up to you.
/em tempts with shiny badges, the Paragon Protector one too -
Oh, me please, as MBar.
Lvl 15 squishy Tankers ftw!!! -
[ QUOTE ]
It looks like a single target version of Tenebrous Tentacles which corrupters get at level 8?
Does anybody use this and find it worth while as I'm more inclined to ignore this and take hasten tbh.
[/ QUOTE ]
My experience of it is with a lvl 50 DM/Regen Scrapper, but even for Brutes its bound to be good. Its as quick as a hiccup and will out-damage Shadow Maul after all its DoT goes through. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
As I say, Tankers and Defenders have been in relatively short supply so far in the Onslaught, so either would be appreicated.
[/ QUOTE ]
OI!
You have me this time as a tanker!
(hopefully)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but Ice Tanks don't count cos they r teh suXX0rz lol n00b!!!111111111
For the record, there's nothing wrong with Ice Tanks, they are great. So there.
