But it isn't is it??? Most people wont reply to that as it isnt polite enough and doesn't convey the team size, what you are doing, what zone, wether you have IO's, what shoe size you are, and if you have a mouse on the left side of the keyboard or the right.
[/ QUOTE ]
What was it they said about sarcasm being the lowest form of wit? While I don't care about people's shoe size or where they put their mouse, I do care about not having to go to Hollows to pound on Frosties head with my level 50 controller. It's nice to find these things out before travelling halfway across the world. -
Poor old Wentworth must be turning in his grave. His auction house has been disconnected from the world again.

BTW - if the person replies saying yes, call up the reply to last tell (something like backspace by default) and where it says /t character_who_wants_in, change the /t to /i and remove the final comma - hey presto a quick invite without having to find the player in search.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or you can just right click there name in the chat window and invite to team.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't always get their name though. I've had tells which are just a jumble of 3 or four letters, nothing to indicate where they came from let alone the actual message. This really isn't good enough and needs to be sorted asap, it's been going on for long enough. -
[ QUOTE ]
BTW just spend 2 hours online. Guess what 0 tells, 0 invites. I don't understand what the problem is. It is not as if people are spamming to invite you.
[/ QUOTE ]
With all due respect, what would you expect at 10am on a weekday? Most people are at school/college/uni/work. -
[ QUOTE ]
There's another good point as far as I'm aware trial accounts cant use the /tell system so there only chance of getting a team is blind invites as they cant send a tell
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a good point and it's one that I had completely forgotten about. Another case of a fix to one problem causing a completely new one. I'm not sure banning trial accounts from using the communication tools was such a great decision to be honest. It's removed a fundamental part of the game from the trial accounts, the very people we need to be trying to keep here I'd have thought. -

Actually the worst thought out maps are the rare but incredibly dull/painful Defeat-alls in the massive Orabenga map (you know the one, takes ages to clear it from front to back in a straightish line let alone all the mobs) or a 'rescue the more than 1 hostage' in the same map. I hate that map with a passion.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dislike all the cave maps to be honest. They're just so awkward to navigate. You get stuck on every tiny bit of scenery so if someone puts speed boost on you, you're forever bouncing all over the place. On the Orabanga maps, if those damn portals would actually put all the people who went through them in the same place it really would help tremendously. I've lost count of the number of times the team has been split into 4 by those stupid portals. As for that huge cavernous multi level room of frustration you get on a lot of CoT missions...well...
Still the best game around though, as far as I'm concerned anyway... -
[ QUOTE ]
No, it defaults to Not looking for team. You have to manually set it to LFT every time. I think it even resets to not looking when you quit a team too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm, you're right. Wonder if that was a relatively recent change. I'm pretty sure it used to default to looking for team when I arrived many moons ago - could be wrong of course - it happens -
[ QUOTE ]
It takes all of 2 seconds to click the no button and seeing as you can't invite when someone is inside a mission i'd love to know how that's ever been a problem for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that wasn't directed at me but I'll tell you what the problems are...
Blind invites from people way outside your level range, you can't tell without having to either join the team and travel all the way to the zone they are in or do a time consuming search.
Blind invites that bring up a dialog right in the middle of the screen while you are in a fight - not all fights happen on instanced missions, you HAVE to get that damn thing out of the way so you can continue your fight.
9 times out of 10 the blind invite is from someone who is doing something that I have no interest in at all. Sending the blind invite might have saved the person sending it a few seconds but it's wasted my time. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you send a tell most people even refuse to answer the message at all. Which is disheartening.
[/ QUOTE ]
I always make a point of answering a tell, if I actually see it. The problem at the moment is that the system is so borked, half the tells don't get through at all or they are truncated to the point of being completely useless. I think we have to assume that if we don't get an answer these days, it's the system rather than the player. -
[ QUOTE ]
How about if someone spams lft in broadcast. Do I need to ask them? Flagging yourself as looking for a team is equivalent to broadcasting lft.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not quite. It just means you haven't got around to turning the flag off. It defaults to looking for team. -
[ QUOTE ]
Whenever I see the 'mo blinds tab' I know the person is rude and arrogant so I just don't invite.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whenever I get a blind invite from someone I don't know I feel the same way and I ignore it. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've been on a level 50 and got a blind invite from a level 2 wanting to be power levelled. It's funny the first couple of times but it really gets annoying after a while. -
[ QUOTE ]
One thing I would add here is that the missions where you have to click a glowy, and then clear out nearby mobs, it seems to be all enemies in the same room. The worst of thoughts are of cause the CoT maps with the large multi layered cave.
There is no excuse for it that kind of mission, other then the fear of players ghosting the mission and thus getting to much xp for the effort.
[/ QUOTE ]
And then they go and increase the inf/exp you can get at the end of a mission simply by logging out for a while...as the Americans would say - go figure... -
One thing I don't like is the mission description "Find xyz". You've found the item and clicked it but in order to complete the mission you still have to defeat every mob in what appears to be a sphere around the thing, even if they're on a different floor. How flamin stupid is that? If defeat nearby mobs is a mission objective then say so but lets not have to defeat things on different floors as well just because they happen to be close to the thing in another dimension!
-
It happens. Some people underestimate the time taken to do a TF, others panic the first time they are defeated, others have unexpected real life issues that interfere.
I think we would have done it if just a couple more had stayed but that's the way it goes. Remember it's only a game
I wouldn't worry too much about it. That's a reasonably popular TF, there will be plenty of opportunities to do it again. -

I've never understood people's fear of Voids...
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably something to do with distant memories of meeting one at level 5 and dying instantly... -
[ QUOTE ]
i mean this lvl limit will pushied alot of players, i was play the other day and we had brick mission and it sent us to crey folly for a mission we had choice to drop a person or a mission, due to the fact we someone who couldn't enter crey due to one lvl different to access the area.
personel i think lvl restriction is a idiot system with no personel gain to anything
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. I don't like it at all. It needs to be either corrected so that it allows people into a zone when they are sk'd or the missions need to be more sensibly allocated to teams - there's no point allocating missions when the team members can't even get into the zones. -
CoX runs perfectly well on my 7800 SLI cards so it's probably not an NVidia thing as such. Having SLI on or off actually makes no perceptible (to me) difference to this game though so it's not really needed.

[ QUOTE ]
Sadly once I hit the 50 my characters are done. I only get them out of the mothballing to do some badge hunting.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have lots of alts but I find I play my 50's more than the lower level ones. Guess we're all different -
[ QUOTE ]
What I hadn't appreciated about the Mission Teleport power was that it was a cross-zone teleport. I just teleported from the steps of the city hall in Atlas Park to the depths of the Portal Corp building.
For some reason I thought it was only going to have a zone-wide range!
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that definately makes it worthwhile. Have to look seriously into this! -

[ QUOTE ]
Have you ever heard of a prison break where there's NO alarm?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, because in a good prison break the alarm never goes off and no-one ever works out how you got out and how you disappeared so completely.
[/ QUOTE ]
Until the warden throws a little rock through the strategically placed poster of Rita Hayworth...
Still a bit annoyed that the villian badge in breakout is a simple exploration badge whereas hero's have to fight for half an hour to get theirs. -
Ages, I have about a dozen alts. The one I play depends entirely on how I feel at the time. What's the rush anyway?
-
My AR/Dev blaster was my first 50, still play it sometimes but after ED it was nerfed to hell and back. Trying to get it back up to scratch with IO sets but it'll probably never be as impressive as it was.
Have an archery/fire blaster, also at 50. Great little damage dealer solo. Not so great in teams. Her most powerful attack is almost useless in teams, the animation time for rain of arrows is so long that the controllers/scrappers have finished off most groups of mobs before the arrows actually cause any damage.
Tried an elec primary blaster and had a brief foray into fire, just couldn't get on with them. Not tried any other primaries. To be honest I've grown a little jaded with blasters and I've moved onto melee - mainly scrappers. -
Apart from turning PI into a hazard zone (please no!!) the only way I could see of making it less welcoming for low level toons would be to increase the number of mobs hanging around in the main streets and increase their perception range so any un-sk'd low level toons get splattered instantly. Can't see the point though to be honest, nobody forces you to team with people 49 levels below you.

n yeah, removing the bonuses makes these powers pointless much sooner than than they are already.
[/ QUOTE ]
I take them but they aren't much use. Once out of outbreak (or breakout for the dodgy ones!) they miss so often they've almost completely useless. More of a fill in attack while waiting for the rest to recharge... They look nice but apart from that, waste of a slot.
