  1. This is the bind I'm using for the voids

    Gotten to 21 and the dwarf is GREAT fun I can tank but it does get tricky at times, need them SOs now!

    I'm also flipping around between Nova / Human for damage and dwarf to take the aggro. Makes it much easier to survive and kill them :P Voids are getting quite nasty but luckily the dwarf attacks do knockdown so if you are lucky he won't have any idea what hit him.
  2. Reached 19 on my PB and it just gets more interesting as you go The voids/quants are getting a bit more hairy, especially if you miss!

    I tend to use Nova for most of my damage and when someone gets close, pop to human IS him and he gets knocked down and confused. Can't wait for the skills to come! Human looks like quite a nice melee character, a bit squishy bit not as bad as the squid.

    Got my PB to 16 now, I am really enjoying him. It can get very hairy at times (hitting +3's the whole of the evening) but we managed quite well. In Nova, stay high enough so that you are out of melee range but close enough to get heals!
  4. Looking quite nice there. Essence boost is the power that gives you a boost to HP and it does carry over to your forms. So nice to have when you are about to run into a big mob and not sure what will happen.

    I'm lvl 13 now and quite enjoying, Slotting Nova and Dwarf primarily but also using a good few human skills as well.

    I've used Plasma's Guide (US boards) to get an idea for slotting and then just mixed around with some powers that I thought would be nice. Plasma has a pretty nice build "Gold sample" or some such that gives good slotting in Tri Form. I will see how things progress and maybe at a much later stage (35 or higher) think about speccing differently, maybe go Bi Form and have more slots.

    The one thing to keep in mind here is getting your binds up! Again Plasma has them all listed and they work great! Iscariot also has a few more to look at. The void one is a must and having it on TAB is great since you dont get flooded with the "not found" message.

  5. The build caters for decent amounts all over actually. Will give it a bash and see how it goes. Need more slots though!
  6. Yeah the build has Human form more as an assist than anything else. Not sure what to do though, I got to lvl 6 and the squid is nice for damage. Will probably play on until later levels and then respec into something else when I have more understanding of the AT.
  7. I've decided to try out the life of a PB but find it rather hard to find a general build that will assist with getting through the first 20 odd levels. There's just too much info out there and each time I end losing my mind looking at it all.

    Following is a build I found that looks quite interesting from a Solo and team player (which is what i'm looking for). Don't mind the IO's though since that isn't what will be slotted. Any help would be greatly appreciated

  8. Regarding Singy - So rather 6 slot him with the 1x Acc 3x Dmg 1x Hold? I agree that he doesn't get hit that often with my bubbles on him so I rarely need to recast him when the power is recharged.

    Crushing Field - Have I got too much in there? Will Okton's 3 slots be a better idea? Oh and Damage PROCs???

    GDF - Carnifax you refer to Acc/Rech/Hold set IOs, how would I go about it? Slot one of each IO type set that gives that specific enhancement?

    Epics - I've not really made up my mind yet, I've got the dispersion bubble for some mitigation so not too sure if I really need another shield? I do need a self heal though since I've got nothing other than Inspirations which don't always help when you are out of greens I'd like to get another damage power to add a bit more to the attacks. Any advice is greatly appreciated
  9. Did the respec last night and headed off to the RWZ, landed all hits on +2 enemies (lt's and bosses too) with the only exception being those darn drones that were bubbled (missing the rad powers there). All in all much happier

    Just 250k to go to 41 and the epics can start

    Oh and I decided to try the Detention field since Force Bubble didn't get much use and have to admit it really is a nice panic button :P

  11. Ok so as some already know my first character was a Grav/FF troller. Perhaps not the best choice for someone new to the game but I managed to stick it out for quite some time. Got to my 40's and started bumping my head, my build is useless for solo play and not many teams looking for a Grav (well a month or so back at least). So I created a Kin defender and that was great fun indeed, my first 50 and still a brilliant character.

    However I can't let my poor troller just hang in the air any more. So I've sat and read through some posts and decided I'll give it another go. So following is a new build I created but would appreciate any and all critique Also if you know of any good IO sets that work well, please shout.

    Another little note, if you are using the starter base plot then don't waste your time on going for the big tele chambers... The 3x3 one does not allow for more teleporters than the 2x2

    We currently have 3 2x2 teleport chambers and each has 4 beacons active. So we can pretty much get anywhere we need to at this stage. Still have room for one more room, just need to make a plan to add more control and power

    Thanks again the tips I've reached lvl 34 and will try do another respec trial this weekend. Maneuvers isn't doing much else other than sapping my endurance at the moment.

    Having the Aid Self will be very nice indeed, I am not usually in the midst of a battle. More hanging a little behind throwing in my different lifts/slows and immobs and of course adding bubbles as we go. This tends to leave me out of the defenders area heals which leads to some difficulties as the team walks into a room and aggros 3 or 4 groups I must hide in my pff more often i think...

    Also how are you slotting hover/pff etc?

    Currently I've got pff 2 slotted (both def buff inventions) and hover one def buff and a flight invention (just so i don't crawl round the back).

    Also what invention sets are good to look at? Will take time to gather them all but would be good to know. I've just managed to fit all inventions (35) for quite a bit cheaper than 35 SO enhancements so no more yellow and red slots

  17. Ok after many small changes and just general faffing around with how things work etc, I've finally gotten to a stage where our base is starting to look like something.

    Prestige is a little limited though since only 2 members are really active but I think we are doing fairly well actually

    Cool thanks I've started using wormhole a lot more in the exact way you just mentioned :P However how do you know when the WH will grab a group instead of a single target?

    I've noted a few times where I pickup two or three people and other times six. But no MISS message or anything to note that it is accuracy problems? I've added the 2nd acc invention to WH last night so I'm hoping it makes a difference.

    Next respec is at 34 right? Just a bit of healing would go a long way in keeping me alive

    True but that would take me into my sixth power pool. Not quite sure yet if that has any future problem associated though since I already have all the powers from my primary that I wanted, secondary I still want to get the force bolt to throw enemies away from me (though my pet does this quite well) and maybe the big bubble to push enemies outside my vicinity. Already have Swift/Heal/Stamina from fitness, Maneuvers from Leadership and hover/fly.

    Oh which brings me to another question. Travel powers, flight is pretty decent to get around. I'm fairly safe most of the time since no body else is up top but it isn't the fastest thing out there. Also do you get better def attributes from acrobatics than you would from hover?

    Awww a shame about only one pet Having two would have made my life a lot easier... Finding groups is starting to become hard for some reason

    I'm waiting on some inventions from Wents at the moment, will slot the Sing. accordingly then. Rather expensive to buy SO enhancements now, and for some strange reason there never seems to be any stock of the inventions I need....

    On the bright side, with my pet I can sit back and dish out some damage now. Aggro is a bit of a pain since the Sing. is always trailing behind. However the mobs seem to move between the two of us a lot so at least I'm not taking 100% of the hits anymore. A self heal would have been really nice to have

    Ok so I managed to get to level 32 (thanks to 2x XP weekend) and now have both my wormhole and sing.

    Wormhole has been given an ACC slot for now with 2x disorient. Perhaps some more range would be nice here later...

    Singularity, well now this has been a huge difference! Doesn't take an hour to kill someone anymore, no sir

    My question here is, after reading a few bits about the pet, a lot of people mention using recharge slots to be able to use more than one at a time, but that doesn't work or is it something that you get at later levels?

    Thanks, I slotted the 4th def buff to DB thinking it would go up, but then realised it was limited to 59%. I've already slotted a 2nd end reduction on there Great minds and all that

    GDF for time being is taking a back seat, works well against lower levels but seldom on the 26/27's that I'm currently facing.

    Crush and propel have each received a replacement dmg mod and is doing a bit better too.

    Regarding IOs I've seen and sold a lot of the recipes but not used them as their stats are lower than the SO enhancements I'm using now. Only bonus would be that each IO can have the dual or tri boost. Does this really help that much at lvl 25?

    Thanks for all the inputs! I've made it to level 25 last night

    Mostly still Duo'ing with my scrapper SG mate, repeat missions from agents is pretty nice for the double XP

    My build hasn't really changed much, using lift for some damage, holds to keep 'em in place for the others and propel for the more serious damage.

    I might have used slots a little badly though (getting a team for Tera Volta is not easy), basically I have my PFF 3 slotted (all running 25 SO def buffs), the two small team bubbles both 2 slotts (also fitted with the 25 SO defe buffs) and then the Dispersion Bubble 5 slotted (4x 25 SO def buffs (59%) and one 25 SO endurance cost reduction (just to try and keep my endurance up while i wait for stamina).

    This has been working fairly well in both the duo team and in bigger groups. Try and keep my Dispersion bubble around the ranged people and then smaller bubbles on everyone. They do work but at the moment not that great

    My biggest problem for now is that I have no health regen and endurance is starting to run out in extended battles.

    I will slot crush for more damage this afternoon to see what happens, GDF is fairly useless to me at this stage as it has one slot and costs way too much endurance with too little effect. Though slowly it seems that my toon is finally finding a place for himself

    I'm currently playing a lvl 15 Grav/FF (my first char ever) and the skills like lift, crush, grav dis, propel and then personal bubble and the melee bubble. Other skills are Hover and Fly.

    Any good advice on how to optimise on this char? It works fairly well in a 2 man team (2nd being a scrapper) since I really do very little damage and ok'ish holds on the enemy. However I can't really go out and solo much

    Any help would be greatly appreciated
