  1. The Ourobous is in the symbol of Unity. However the Ourobous is in the shape of Infinity. The title of issue 11 I believe will be "Infinite Unity". Personally;

    *spoilers ahead*

Nemesis at the end of the Dark Watcher Arc bluntly tells you he uploaded his intellect to the Rikti Mental Network. However, not even Nemesis was prepared for the ideal of Unity that the Rikti cling to. This probably scarred him in some way, damaging his intellect, and now he is seeking Unity in all things he creates (kind of borg-esque as it were) and he knows that all the heroes and villains currently would make this very difficult.

So, he decides the best course of action; he can't go back and erase every possible hero and villain individually. There are just too many, too many points of time to interact with, and doubtful enough power to make a machine that strong. So instead he goes back to the pivotal point, the creation point as it were, that decides the fate of heroes and villains. For heroes, the Outbreak being stopped was the pivotal creation point. For villains, Recluse breaking them out of Zigursky prison.

This pivotal event causes irrevocable damage to the timeline. This gives Nemesis almost total reign over everything that is current as your hero or villain is no longer apart of the mainstream timeline.

Possibilities that can come about from such a dramatic temporal shift, even if it is correctable?

Possibly the chance to turn your hero into a villain or your villain into a hero (plain speculation and I suspect 8 miles from the truth at best).

Some areas of Paragon and even the Rogue Isles getting opened up to the other faction because of such a shift.

Badges, formerly difficult to both sides to obtain, becomines easier to obtain, examples include Outcast bosses for Villains, Cold Demons for Heroes.

The possibility that heroes and villains will be able to get Isolator and Jail Bird again.

Damage to the timeline as a whole makes events that led to the 5th Column's downfall not wholly permanent, but underground, where they have been able to rebuild themselves and get ready to strike back at the Council (and thus leading into the Council possibly seeking Arachnos for protection thus giving them the secret of the Nictus to villains).

New contacts that will open up possibilities for both heroes and villains. Older contacts possibly disappearing completely (hero side mostly to streamline the contact system more). while new or possibly even old style strike forces (task forces hero side) appear.

    That's just my ideas.
  2. Arr, let that scurvy dog of a hero have a word with Davey Jones and settle his grievances, says I.
  3. Be lot's o' people not respectin the honor and life o the pirate, says I. Perhaps should let them share their grievances with Davey Jones, yes?
  4. Creepers do damage, knockback, take aggro, slow, and immobilize. However the immobilize tends to remote the power of the knockback.
  5. File a bug report if that's the case.
  6. Psst, they are both kheldians and whenever the EATs are talked aobut in general, they get genericed as kheldians. When I say evil Peacebringers, because we have no idea what they will be called. It's pretty straight forward the Nictus will be referred to as Nictus.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Silver, I love the theories you have regarding the 5th. The only part I am hoping for is that the 5th will not involve the Nictus, that they will have realized that they were part of their problem. I dont recall Reichsman having been infected with the Nictus in the story canon (I know the other famous 5th leaders were Vandal, Requium) but I would rather see their purge be a true purge of the old including the Nictus.

[/ QUOTE ]My part of the synopsis wasn't because the Nictus were apart of the 5th, but because the Council are seeking protection from Reichsman and the 5th, thus the Nictus and evil Peacebringers, will join with Arachnos or become villain options.
  8. The original City of Heroes video, you can view it on teh City of Heroes site.
  9. Though you have a point, we aren't talking about some small threat, even if he has been on ice for a while. According to canon that I have read, Statesman himself was only able to beat him, and just barely, before they could put him on ice, so in the end this can't be a moderate threat, otherwise it would realyl downplay the return of the 5th Column, and Positron has said when the 5th return he wants it ina very big way.
  10. My personal belief, and this is only speculation for me;

I don't thinkt he 5th are ont eh moon, the rikti blurb about i10, said one of the signs of the Rikti return was the siesmic activity ont eh moon, which leads me to believe there is another Restructurist Rikti outpost on the moon.

    Anyways that's my take.

Now, onto what I feel about the 5th Column.

i12, the earliest this will happen, IMO, which means next year. Some of the remaining 5th have been snooping around Baumtown (aka Boomtown). They knew where to dig, but didn't know where exactly to dig. They have been digging under the Freedom Phalanx old HQ for a while, looking for the capsule of Reichsman. They find him, and awaken him, and Reichsman secretly has the old Phalanx HQ rebuilt into his base of operations in Boomtown, while the rebuilding was being done everywhere else.

The result? Reichsman, having been recruiting and rebuilding his flock, possibly from Council, as well as some of the workers in Boomtown, and possibly other sources, finally feels ready to strike. His troops are stationed everywhere throughout Paragon and the Rogue Isles, not only ready to strike against the Council, for their coup they played 3 years ago, but also against heroes and villains alike to subvert them all under the rule of the 5th Column.

In this return, the Council, wanting protection, seek out some possible Arachnos help, and as a result, villains finally gain access to their epic archetypes, the Nictus, and whatever the name of the evil peacebringer will be. New story arcs will open up for villains describing the 5th for villain khelds.

Boomtown will possibly become a joint co-op zone, with a special Arachnos flier and contacts for both heroes and villains as Reichsman and the 5th present a global threat to not only Heroes but Arachnos as well. Recluse's stand point would be that one Statesman is enough, but another one hell bent on world domination he doesn't want anything with, so he adopts the enemy of my enemy is my friend policy for the time being until Reichsman as a threat is removed.

Several new contacts appear, a new Strike Force striking against Reichsman himself, Boomtown itself is retro-fitted, opening up new explorations as well as a new GM for villains.

Or, in another twist, one fo the Rogue Isles is disocovered to be the 5th's new base. The result, the heroes will be able to come into the isles, as this threat is too big even for Recluse to contain.

In either event, I believe Boomtown will be retrofitted during this, and villain EATs will make their appearance.
  11. I have to agree with Zombie-Man. These events aren't even live, and they are being discussed as they are happening. I am glad for the accomplishment of Sylph-Knight, but discussing test events like they were live server events is a confusing thing to do to the players. Otherwise they are very enjoyable to read.
  12. Well another good reminder of if a patch is going live or not, is the pre download. Since live I ahven't gotten a pre download yet, we are still a week away, at best, from i10 going live.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
There's at least one big patch to test coming. That may be as early as tomorrow, so it's up over the weekend. If that's mostly clean, there's no real reason it couldn't go live in the first or second week of July. They have had a lot of good bug reports on the stuff that's broken, they've had a goodly amount of time to code the changes, I think it's going to be soon. Remember, the wouldn't have opened the beta if they thought there were a lot of things they wanted to fix. Open beta is for load testing what they're almost ready to push.

[/ QUOTE ]I seriously dobut they are going to patch lvie on July 4th week, since that's a national holiday in the states, and most likely the devs will get a long weekend for it. I would expect it the week after at the earliest.

Once yellows are down, we should have the brutes be ready to taunt Hami. I know they're not tanks, but they're the best we've got.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Theory- MMs in bodyguard mode with the Presence Pool.
Brutes aren't tanks any more than scrappers are. But finding a MM with the Presence Pool I fear may not be possible.

Hmm. Time to level a MM then.

[/ QUOTE ]Theoretically possible, however Hami does have targetted AE blasts, which those blasts are known to wipe out minions in one shot. I had considered it myself at one time, but despite MMs being pretty much the tanks of villain side, their greatst weakness are AE blasts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How big are Hami's aoes? You just have to be within 60 feet of your pets for bodyguard, so if the aoes are smaller than that, you could survive the aoes. Have a thermal sit near the pets and spam an aura heal or something.

[/ QUOTE ]The other issue Generic is that to maintain tank mode for MMs they have to be in bodyguard, and whenever the mastermind is attacked or any of the minions for tha tmatter, the minions want to go and attack back.... so this presents a real hairy problem of the mastermind jsut standing their. And for melee type MMs this can be bad.

  16. Woah, they do exist *passes out falling backwards*
  17. I don't recall ever seing a single 45+ TA MM in my entire game time to date. *shrugs* there might be one or two out there, but if they are, I sure don't know where.
  18. Actually Flea, stalkers on an assault team with controlled crits will take out mitos faster than 8 brutes pounding at a yellow, I know we tested this during the test server villain hami raid.
  19. 2 and 10 down are the only ones I am having trouble with, since I can't seem to find a reference at the moment to Libbies Grandmother, and there are currently 12 of these is so obscure it doesn't come to mind off hand, unless it's a hero thing then it's way out of my league.
  20. Who's that tool Silverspar on there

Hehe it's definitely good I am actually reading them quite regularly.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
it looks like alot but I think its running like clockwork so far and once you have done it a few times it runs like clockwork

I have been wondering if it is possiable to cage the mitos ?

[/ QUOTE ]It's been asked numerous times, but I think the answer has come back as a pretty solid no.
  22. *yawns* very good right up, though very sleepy at the moment... I will write something up for the villains later *curls up and goes to sleep*
  23. Misguided folks generally corrupt their view of things, irreguardless... their intent maybe noble to them... but genocide is still genocide.
  24. Hrmm... could the Vanguard be what the new 5th evolve into?
  25. I think it's quite possible, considering the cryptic message concerning dark watcher, and the group is listed as enemies, and the 6 new boss types are lsited as Arch-Villains as well. The Vanguard could of totally gone whacko.
