Thanks... Because just about every time this topic comes up you usually start off with a mostly neutral/negative position on it.
Did you ever stop to wonder why this suggestion keeps coming up time and time again if "no one" really wants it?

I'm not saying you ever have to be overjoyed with the idea.
But if you truly "don't care" then why even comment with a negative slant each time it comes up?

Actually, Wonder Woman just got a huge makeover.
If someone wanted to be super-picky about it they could mention that Wonder Woman has technically had dozens of costume variations over the years. No real reason why we shouldn't be able to follow suit.

I'd be all for this. But people like EvilGeko would likely scream bloody murder that this would be a "waste" of an Incarnate award. And honestly I'd probably agree with him on that point.

Extra costume slots should never be Incarnate and/or Vet awards. Far too much whining would ensue. They should either be unlockables or purchasable so that the people who want them can get them and the people who don't won't have to bother.

To "save" myself the aggravation of having to constantly travel to a tailor to invoke the costume save/load feature I would gladly spend a few extra dollars. I've been playing this game for 7 years now so the cost of a few real world dollars to get a feature that I've wanted for years would be "less than significant" as far as I'm concerned.

Besides if my few extra dollars combined with other people's extra dollars add up enough to allow the Devs to develop another feature YOU've been wanting then I hardly think you would really mind would you?

Yes, but only for toons that hadn't claimed one or more of the respecs as a reward, so that's apparently not WAI. The flat statement that the badges are all attainable by one toon is currently not correct, and won't be until I20 hits.
I was sorely tempted to make use of that little "trick" in order to get a few more badges but I read an obscure post by one of the Devs like a month or so after GR came out that implied the Devs were "aware" of the situation and were going to come up with a better solution. Thankfully we only had to wait until I20 for that better solution.

The concept was so that you could match your team, but truthfully ony some people did that. But again it would make sense that if you joined a team you would get a free tailor session to alter that slot to match the style or colors of your team, or team style.

I found that personally I did not need my other slots. My first costume was the best costume to solidify the toons personality. For instance not many comic super heroes have changed their iconic look far from their original, and when it does happen it's not usually long before it's gone back.

Except with Aquaman...who well...seriously...does it matter if he shows up in PJ's made of Seal Eyelids? Although there were renditions of him that made him a bit more manly, which were acceptable.

Vampirella has been wearing the same... Band Aid for eternity
Wonder Woman is about the same
Bat Man has some variations but not enough to warrent anything slot worthy more than perhaps a refresh of a look here and there.

With going rogue I can see having 3 slots. One for a villain, and one for a hero, and one where you are in a cat suit or lobster boi outfit to RP in Pocket D...or if your risky a secret identity costume.

Thats all I can see really. I even found that with Champions too though. The second costume you make is never going to be paramount to the one you first created to give the toon a super identity.

Lets face it, your original costume is and will always be you golden age costume. Some of em arn't pretty, but neither was Iron Mans old suit, but he threw that out and we know him now by his current, but the memories people attatch to their very first pair of tights will usually be the threads that they will associate with that toon.
Your points here are perfectly valid. But they don't really dismiss the idea that some people would prefer to have more than 5 costumes available without having to run back to a tailor to save/load different ones.

For example I have an alt that has a "classic" outfit, several casual outfits, several "battle damaged" looks, several "no helmet/glove" looks, several "hero/villain" looks and so on. All of these add up to well over 5 slots worth. Would it really upset anyone if I was able to have say 10+ costumes ready to go whenever/wherever I want?

I could do that in Champions Online. All I'm really asking for is to be able to do that here as well.

Thus proving my point from my last post above. Not everyone cares about this issue.

I have nothing against people who think the 5 costume slots per character thing is fine. I myself have plenty of alts which get by quite well enough with 5 permanent costumes or less.

But still I have other alts where having more than 5 slots at a time would at the very least be highly convenient. I think this would be a very cool QoL improvement that a number of people would benefit from. Would everyone use them? No of course not. But then again does everyone take advantage of every single QoL improvement added to the game? Again of course not.

If the Devs offered a scheme to buy extra costume slots then the people who wanted them could buy them and the people who didn't wouldn't have to bother. That extra money could then allow the Devs to develop other cool things for the game quicker. It'd be a win-win for everyone.

It's probably fair to say that not everyone wants or cares about extra costume slots. Every time this topic comes up there's eventually some poster who will say something along the lines of "I don't care about that and the Devs shouldn't waste any time on it."

At this point if it's a feature that will only happen if the Devs think they can make a little bit of extra money on it I have no problem at all paying a few dollars for it. *shrugs*
  9. People have been suggesting being able to get more costumes slots for characters in this game for years now. The costume save/load was a step in the right direction, but at best it's only a cumbersome workaround for being limited to just 5 slots.

Sadly one of the only things that Champions Online currently features that I think is BETTER than this game is its ability to allow players to purchase extra costume slots for their characters. I haven't played that game in a long time but back when I did it was very cool to have like a level 5 character running around with a dozen costume slots.

Basically at this point I would favor any scheme that allowed us to get more costume slots per character in this game.

Obviously with an optimized team of experienced players almost any TF can be sprinted through. There are people out there who often boast of being able to do ITFs and LGTFs in less than 20 minutes.

But the real problem with the original Positron TF was that it was a fairly bad design for newer players. You have to remember that for many people the Posi TF was their very first TF and if you didn't know what you were doing with a big unoptimized team they could be absolute nightmares. In the years I've played this game I've met a number of people who to this day will refuse to join TFs because of the awful multi-hour experiences they had slogging through their first Posi.

So I have absolutely no problem with the redesign of Posi. The new Posi is now much more enjoyable and a much more forgiving experience to newer players.

It's true there are some people who think these Incarnate influence costs MUST be paid when in fact they are purely optional. Despite being optional I am still considering using my hordes of unused influence to pay for things that might otherwise take too long to earn via the Incarnate trials, especially on secondary alts that aren't doing the trials as much. I can only play so many trials every day so while my main character might get her Incarnate abilities that way I'm probably just going to be "buying" those things with influence on other alts.

I recently soloed the Ouro version of the original Posi and it wasn't too bad, probably for most of the reasons Wonderslug mentioned. It had probably been several years since I ran it back when it was the actual Posi TF and I could have sworn it was longer with more "repeat/cloned" missions. Basically I'm not 100% sure the Ouro Posi is the unaltered original or not, but it probably doesn't quite matter regardless.

Anyway I'm glad the Devs decided to redesign the Posi TF and it's cool they gave us access to the old one in Ouro. I'm hoping they'll eventually do that with all the original blueside TFs.

It probably wouldn't. But of course YMMV.

To me things like Facebook, Twitter and the whole social networking thing is almost like a MMO in and of itself. Basically Facebook is the "MMO for people who don't realize they are playing a MMO".

So when I play an actual game I don't really want to waste time playing the "game outside of the game". If I want to Facebook I'll Facebook, if I want to involve myself in a game I'll do that. But I don't really need to mix the two.

It's sort of the same thing that comes up when people want to have voice chat directly added to CoH. Why would we need our Devs go out of their way to bog down the game client when 3rd party things such as Ventrilo already exist? A game, by itself, doesn't have to do everything on its own. CoH doesn't really need a clone of Facebook created for it - just use Facebook for that.
  14. I'm one of those who's making about "a billion a week" not counting any unusual HO/Purple/PvP IO sells. Much of what I've earned goes into buying other Purple/PvP IOs I need for builds, but with I20 coming up I'm going to make sure I stockpile a bit more to pay for all the Incarnate costs.

Can't really say I'm bored with it because I only spend about 10 minutes a day on it. Like others have said if I got any more serious about it it would start being like "work" and I don't really want to focus on it all that much.

That's a fair point. I understand prices may always be slightly different based on real world currency exchange rates. But yeah you'd think they'll have to bring everyone's costs in line to be more equal. The sad fact is they may take this opportunity to try to make current NA players pay an amount closer to what the EU players currently pay.

I went several years thinking this is essentially what other players saw as well, until one day one of my friends asked me why I frequently yelled "FOOD! FOOD!" in the middle of battle.

Anyway, does this mean I'll actually have a server called Zukunft on my list? If so, that is just awesome. I'd be almost tempted to transfer my character Leichendiener over there... Though it might be taken now that I think of it.
Well it looks like Archiviste did the honors of creating the text for the binds I suggested. The truly sad part is the Devs could actually plug those into the game and there would be a bunch of people wondering why they were pissing off our new European friends because they'd have no clue what they were saying.

To answer your question yes, players will see new servers to play on in our main server list. If you're a NA player you'll see Zukunft on your list as an available server. Basically the distinction between NA players and EU players is disappearing. Everyone playing the game will be able to play on any server.

But, can be good entertainment if you put that aside and see what would happen if that were the case.

To extend the story past a single movie means either an extended refusal to explain why, which will only make the lack of explanation more and more glaring, or, you'll try to explain it and just appear really stupid. Not to mention that 'only one' precludes sequels unless you want to continually go "oops, there's really just one more!"
That's pretty much why the first movie, if you take it in isolation to anything else, works more or less perfectly.

With just the simple premise "There can only be one" the first movie worked without having to "explain" too much or without having to worry about sequels. Basically as soon as they realized they wanted to create sequel movies they ruined the core of the story by having to try to retool/re-engineer the "There can only be one" paradigm into a larger overall story.

There really -should- have only been one.
  20. Yeah I'm pretty firmly in the "I thought the first movie was good and pretend nothing else was made after it" camp.

If they are remaking the first movie and sticking only to the story of the first movie then this "reboot" might be OK.
Beyond that I really don't want to see anything else from this franchise.

I'll probably give this new Conan a chance. But yeah I'm really starting to get that "3D backlash mindset" that makes me automatically think a movie is going to be "less than good" just because it got the 3D treatment. I don't outright hate the latest 3D technology and I think some movies have made good use of it. But I also think many movies which are otherwise sucky hide behind having 3D as a way to seem less sucky - which never works.

When I think of Conan I don't automatically think "Conan would be so much better in 3D". That in and of itself makes me worry they are just using 3D in this case to cover up a bad movie.

That's too bad. As I said I spend virtually no time in AP and I never look at the Help channel. I don't do those things specifically to avoid RMTers - I just don't do those things because, well, I just don't. I'm usually busy enough with other things to keep me away from those places regardless.

I realize that saying "Just don't go to AP and don't use the Help channel" would not be a realistic solution to this problem so I'm not going to seriously suggest that to anyone. All I can tell you is that, based on my experience, RMTers are not a constant annoyance to "everyone" playing this game. I would hate for the Devs to waste any more effort removing more capabilities from "legitimate" players just to further address this adequately contained problem.

So what if a badge recipe something along the lines of "15 Empyrean merits + 60 Astral merits + 500 Vanguard merits + 150 merits = 1 Passport badge"?
Well I'm not mentioning Passport just because it's literally the only badge I don't have yet (*wink*) but because in a very real sense it will no longer make any sense in a world where all the game's servers exist in the same environment. My argument is that Passport will likely need to be redefined as a badge now that the distinction between the NA servers and EU servers will no longer exist.

I have no problem with the idea of making Passport a badge you can to earn through an alternative method. Isolator and Jail Bird are now badges available via Ouroboros. Other older event badges are now available in updated events. Even Power Liberator/Master Thief is now available directly via the new CoP Trial. In the same way badges like Passport and even the 5th Column Gladiator badge can now be made available via new methods.

Just watch the good times roll from that.

Yeah based on that server move to Austin I wasn't totally surprised to hear of this eventual NA/EU server list merge. Seems like a fairly logical and long overdue reorganization if you ask me.

While I'm sure plenty of people are happy to have access to more servers (regardless of which side of the "pond" you live on) as an avid badge collector the fate of the Passport badge has now come into question again. I'm hoping that with the merge those NA players (like myself) who never made the jump to the EU servers will have a new way to possibly get that badge now that all the servers are in the same place.
