Hi, can I have Lot 22: Gladiator's Armor teleportation protection/+3% defense lvl 50
Thank you very much
@Tenebrous -
Thanks for hosting another one.
I'm sad that it's going to be your last. I'm moving next Friday, so I'm not sure I will be able to attend but I'll be there if at all possible.
I'm sure it will be great.
Good luck -
Thanks for all the good times. I always knew that if you were forming something, or even just a part of it, it was going to be fun.
Good luck and take care. -
Nonsense! I've been reading in the Blaster forums for years that Blasters can out tank the Tanks!
-
Yep, I was there with the scraptasic FMD!
It had been awhile since I'd done the ITF at +4. I remember commenting to the team "Gee, these guys are a lot tougher when they're purple." Of course, by "a lot tougher" I mean "takes more that one hit." </e flex> -
Quote:I feel the same as you do. I was always nice to log in and see who was online and say hello. If I looked in my global friends list and saw @rosetta stone1 or @princess fire online, Id always try to send you a tell (Rosie!!!) and see what you were up to. You are definitely one of the things I will always treasure about my City of Heroes experience.tunatrish1@yahoo.com - it was so easy to get in touch - all I had to do was log on - I hate the thought of loosing contact - I will miss you all - please stay in touch..... feel free to leave your email - love to hook up - if you find a new game - @princess fire and @rosetta stone1 - so sad ...... good bye .......
So how about one more time:
Rosie!!!
Take care -
It was always fun when you were around. Maybe I'll see you in the next game.

I started this thread mostly because I was thinking about starting a new melee-type character and I hadn't tried Super Reflexes yet. Since Titan Weapons just came I out, I was thinking about trying out two new (to me) sets. I have no idea what the "uberness" of either set is.
I also tend to solo, unless I'm on a TF/SF/Trial.
I probably should have mentioned this is my original post. -
I've been looking around at various threads and I haven't see much discussion about TW/SR. Most of the recommendations for a secondary with Titan Weapons are (in no particular order): /Elc, /EA, /WP, /Inv, /FA.
I was just wondering if it's not really a good idea to pair Titan Weapons with Super Reflexes.
Thanks -
I was wondering if Rad/Rad would work. I haven't played a Corruptor before, so I was wondering about that set.

Congratulations on 7 years!
It was a fun contest. I saw lots of people with great costumes.
Thanks, Sisterhood

Starting on Sunday afternoon the game will crash and return to the desktop at the server select screen right after I select one of the servers. The first server I tried was Liberty, but it doesn't seem to matter which one I pick. When I played on Saturday I didn't have any problems with the game. I was able to log out cleanly and didn't have any crashes or disconnects during my Saturday game play. I have made no configuration changes whatsoever on Saturday or Sunday to either my computer or City of Heroes (unless CoH downloaded a patch this weekend that I'm not aware of).
I have tried running a repair and starting in Safe Mode. Neither has helped.
However, I have a City of Heroes Test installation and I can log into that without issue.
My computer is Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, 8 GB ram, NVidia GT435M
I was wondering if anyone has heard of this issue before and might know a solution.
I used a PM to send in the nslookup information and NCApplication.log file.
Thanks -
Sorry to see you go, @Naa. To be honest, some comments you made the last time I saw you made me wonder if the game wasn't really "doing it" for you. I guess I was right
. I've had the good fortune to team up or chat with you many times over the years, and it has always been fun. Your rather spectacular entrances into the chat channel with certainly be missed
.
I hope everything works out for you.
Best Wishes and Good Luck,
@Tenebrous -
Quote:yay! Welcome back, GEL!We have made our move and the dust is starting to settle from the upheaval one's life experiences when you pack up and relocate. Our spare time is slowly returning to us. Last night we logged in and had a great ITF run with some old friends, it certainly felt good to be bashing bad guys and chatting with everyone.
We have certainly missed being here over the past month and are looking forward to seeing all of you again!

Quote:I've been thinking about getting an m11x. Does that that laptop with the optimus not currently run CoH? If so, I will hold off on making a purchase.Quote:This is not a launcher issue. You should be able to run the game in safe-mode but with minimal graphics features. Once the fix goes live, the game should be able to properly use your NVidia GPU's capabilities.
In fact, I think the training room/test server may already have the fix.
EDIT: I was mistaken. The training room/test server does not have the fix.
So I'll just wait for the fix and keep playing happily in Normal Mode until then. -
Quote:Thank you for the reply, Tex. That's good to know that you are aware that there is an issue and it is being looked into.We are aware of the NVidia Optimus problems and a fix is on the way. But, I can't say for certain when that fix will be available.
Even if it takes awhile to get to it, atleast it lets me know that I do not have defective hardware. Well, that and all the diagnostics I've run on it -
Quote:That's what I thought of, too. Unfortunately, on my Dell XPS laptop there is no option in BIOS to disable the Intel graphics processor.Can you disable the intel graphics in bios?
What version of the Nvidia driver are you using?
I also tried to disable the Intel graphics in the Windows 7 Device Manager as a workaround to force everything to use the Nvidia GPU. That turned out to be a BIG mistake. The screen immediately went black. The only way I was able to restore video output was to reboot in Safe-mode, go back into the Device Manager, and re-enable the Intel graphics device.
I don't know the technical reasons for this, but it has been explained to me that with Nvidia Optimus technology the two GPUs (Intel and Nvidia) are actually "linked" in some way. So even though the Nvidia GPU may be doing the graphics processing, it still needs the Intel GPU for output to the screen. Some sort of a "pass-through", I guess. -
I am also having this problem. I have a new Dell XPS 17 laptop with an Intel i5 CPU and an Nvidia GT 435M GPU. I have Windows 7 64-bit on this system.
I have confirmed the Nvidia GPU is active and processing the City of Heroes graphics. The problem is that City of Heroes does not seem to recognize that the Nvidia GPU is present, and can only "see" the Intel i5 graphics processor. As a result, most of the graphics options are grayed out. Another side effect of this is that I cannot enable PhysX processing, despite the fact that my system supports it. Forcing the CoH executable to use the Nvidia GPU in the Nvidia driver setup did not change anything.
I tried completely removing and reinstalling the game, but that didn't work. It did show something odd regarding whatever method is being used to detect system hardware. At the very end of the install, I received a prompt saying something to the effect of "Your system supports Ultra Mode. Do you wish to enable it?" Even though I answered "Yes", I still ended up with the same problem. This does suggest that the installation program is using a different method than the City of Heroes executable to detect system hardware, and does not have the same problem with Nvidia Optimus technology. -
Quote:I think the fact that there is still an issue with FSAA and the HD 5xxx and HD 4xxx series cards is a good enough reason NOT to unsticky this thread. Not to mention some of the other stuff that has come up lately (Such as a the 92XX issue, the Windows 7 Alt+tab issue, etc.)
Last I checked, Ambient Occlusion is not playing nicely with FSAA on ATI 5 series cards and possibly the 4 series as well. Pick which one you like more and kill the other. I, of course, will be killing AO.
On the day that I-17 goes live, I'm going to request that this thread be unstickied. It's usefulness is finally and thankfully at an end.
Either that or create a new ATI Issues thread with updated information.
Just a thought -
Thanks for hosting these Task Forces. The Justine Augustine TF was fun, and we even did the Sara Moore TF as a bonus double feature.
-
Hope to see you later on down the road, @devast8tor. I've had fun teaming up with you and always enjoyed your MS Raids.
Take care,
@Tenebrous -
Take care, Tinder. I've always enjoyed your presence in the game. Good luck to you.
@Tenebrous -
