Quote:/em facepalm"Yeah, new here to Paragon... umm... say... after I level up... do you have any idea where I go to get new powers and stuff?"
Yeah, I heard that one almost word for word in Freedom server /hc last night. Had to leave the channel for a while to avoid replying with something I would later regret.
The Exalted Haven becomes more appealing every time I visit. It is so much closer to how Freedom is meant to be... on many levels. -
It was a lot of fun! Thank you very much for organizing, sponsoring, and promoting this, Madame Pistacio!

You're welcome! Enjoy the comics.

Anyone able to get closer in matching the colors? -
Nicely done, Golden Girl!
The amount of work that goes into this kind of thing boggles my mind. Thank you for sharing, and good luck with getting it into a PDF form. -
Puzzles solved and answers submitted.
Like others my brain hurts from #3, but it was solvable.
Thank you for the entertaining challenge, PERC! -
Which ones are you missing that are not at http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/media_...ic_archive.php ?
Some of the cover images are broken but all the links worked that I randomly sampled. -
I know D_R is overbooked, but the only thing that could make this funnier would be to see it in a video. Well played, Steelclaw!

Well, this is a big enough topic that it deserves reading, dedicated thought, and (if inspired) feedback from all the participants - aka the CoH community. Thus, here's my input:
Quote:On one hand I'm a big fan of efficiency. On the other hand, part of my favorite corners of the forums are quiet areas. It is nice there to feel like a distinct voice and not one of the crowd. The concern is that we have too many different forums on the COH message boards. As such we are currently considering consolidating and removing some forums.
For example: Freedom is one of the biggest population servers, but the Freedom server forum is quiet with pretty much only threads on upcoming trials/TFs. Mostly it's a sign-up calendar. Those rare times a question is asked, however, it is immediately and politely responded to by a handful of people. There is fewer avalanches of differing responses to overwhelm like there would be on the General CoH forum.
On a personal note: Please strongly consider leaving the Roleplaying forum as a separate entity. It is an active and a distinctive niche that would not merge well with other fan creation forums.
Edit: So far I like the AT split proposed by Xanatos the best. I can't comment on the other forums, as 99% of the time I read directly from my bookmarks: Whitemoore/PCU (Roleplaying), Community Digest, Dev Digest, City Life, Freedom, Best/Re-Design Costumes (Screenshots & Fan creations)
Quote:Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents. I hope tangents will still abound in that casual forum!
Quote:The City of Heroes Freedom forums are primarily for discussion of City of Heroes Freedom. However, we do allow a wider a variety of...

Otherwise, looks good to me.
Personally I'm hoping that language will be more closely moderated now that the forum rules are being reviewed in high profile and it explicitly states trying to get around the filters with abbreviations and substitutions, in text and images, is prohibited. The English language has many ways in which to express oneself without resorting to crass words which violate the T-for-Teen rating.
Thank you for soliciting community feedback,

Thank you for the notes! Glad you did the smart thing and slept first before posting.
Hah! That reminds me of a Captain O.G. Readmore kids cartoon where everyone only said "OG!" -
So will we get to see you again for Ustream in the morning, Zwillinger? Three times in on week would set a new record!
I would also enjoy the chance to discuss more details about featuring player costumes/fan art in the normal Ustream chats.
Fingers crossed that this next morning's downtime ends early too. -
I would like to bring Dynexus, please.
50+3 Illusion/Bubbler - now featuring Clarion Core Epiphany. -
Quote:Best idea so far!How about if she gave out repeatable missions where you show up at charity events. No XP, but double inf. Content? A couple of talk-to convos (maybe they can go towards your 5 a day morality missions?) then putting on a staged fight for entertainment against some badly costumed AV look-a-likes.
Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes and gives you an inf boost, could be useful for lowbies who need an inf injection for DOs, especially considering how it's going F2P, lots of new players! -
Thank you for the notes!
Please try not to hurt yourself keeping up with the marathon tomorrow.. -
I tested the levels tonight on the Freedom server.
The first contact for the signature story arc "Who Will Die?" is level 10 - 20.
The earliest you can start the contact is level 10. Exemp down to level 20.
Blueside is started via Theoden in Skyway by the detectives. Redside via Alastor, located straight south of AE and east of the ferry in Cap Au Diable.
For feedback: Had no problem on my main soloer (Illusion/Bubbler). Enjoyed it enough as a Rogue to run it twice for the alternate dialog in the first mission. Will probably run it a few more times this week for the fun of it. I think I'll use it along with Twinshot's arcs to show off CoH:Freedom to returning friends. -
Most artist by default think a response to their work is one of reservation or disappointment, even when all prior responses are of glowing praise and overwhelming support.

The only thing "wrong" is that our beloved D_R needs to see praise where praise is being given.
Your work is top tier. Period.
Please accept that we think you and your videos are amazing and awe-inspiring! d^.^b -
Wow. That's an understatement, let me try again...
W-O-W!
Congratulations on another fantastic job, Dark_Respite! *applause*
Your next task: Treat yourself to a super-sized, well-deserved break and enjoy all that content you were filming. -
Ah, thank you, Haggard4Life. I missed that detail in the flood of information since Beta started.

My first foray into the Paragon Market resulted with these purchases:
costume Slot 6
costume Slot 7
costume Slot 8
costume Slot 9
costume Slot 10
Capes
Auras
6 Character Transfers
Barbarian costume set
Rocket Board travel power
Back to School Backpack costume piece
Knowledgeable badge
Next month I will probably shop for:
Imperial Defense costume set
Beam Rifle power set
Account Service > Storage Increase options
I would have picked up Imperial Defense costume set today, but it didn't have a Buy Now button available. Is that costume set currently a placeholder only, and has yet to be released?
Did I miss any other permanent options (ie not enhancements or 5-use powers) that were newly released with i21? -
Thank you very much for the encouragement, everyone!
Shall I dare try a VIP one, or would that be too much? -
Quote:This worked! Thank you thank you thank you!!You can actually change your current password to your current password if you want.

How much do you enjoy City of Heroes? This game is one of my favorite forms of entertainment. So much so that even when not playing I like working towards a game-related goal.
Without further ado may I present a scarf I designed and created, inspired by Going Rogue:
Choosing colors was easy, yellow with a gold star.
And while I can't think of any cool symbolism off hand, I am still proud of how the double columns of alternating honeycomb turned out.
It measures a generous 74" long plus 6" tassels on each end, for a total 86" long; 8" wide at the star.
I got the idea last Christmas and started at the beginning of 2011. Work was done during non-CoH relaxation time (watching movies, etc). Such times were few and far between which is primarily why it took so long to complete.
Estimated total work time: 80 hours
Finished it today Monday, September 12, 2011 at 2 am. Just in time to be made obsolete by City Of Heroes Freedom.
So! I'm pleased with the result but realize I'm about as untalented as a person can be at crafts.
What say you? It is good enough to qualify as fan art?
Update 11/24/2011: Now with bonus hat...
Basic design, standard size, featuring an accent star. Colors are reverse of the scarf: Gold body, yellow star.
