Thanks for the reply, I see what you are saying. I know that the debuff in QS is a autohit for its -def, but I was using mids (at work atm so couldnt look up stats in game)and it looked like the effects to targets were the same(minus the -rech)when I compared the 2. But if I look at it as a big patch of webnade then I get the picture. Thanks.

Sorry, I didnt PvP as much as you bud, and since I played mostly doms slated for PVE only, I have never really been on the recieving end of TA-glue arrow. Does anyone else have anymore fruitful input?

If this is working as intended then technically shouldnt quicksand operate the same way?

Okay I can deal with it being an autohit power, but why does the same thing not happen to when someone touches quicksand? They are virtually the same except for the - rech maybe. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure I have casted Quicksand numerous times and I dont remember peeps being grounded like I was with glue arrow.
  6. I just started to get into pvp some more on my Doms and moved my PVP doms (in training)to Freedom. First thing that stuck out was wow.. there are a lot of peeps in RV, then the thing that stuck out the most was how if my little toe would G R A Z E a glue patch from the TA set, how I couldn't jump for almost 3 days (okay probably more like 20 secs or more but still)

I'm pretty sure that's OP'd but was wondering if the Devs knew or if there was a post on it. Or is this working as intended? I would have hoped the same thing would have happened to my patch of Quicksand... but sadly no. And is there anyway to to a least get past this -jump?

Thanks for the replies. I will be planning my next kill against The Death Perfectionist lol for revenge on the 200-2 arena matches we had lol.
  7. Hello all, currently trying to promote myself from PVP farm meat to PVP Killer. The question I have is, I know that phase toons can attack phased toons, so can a phased toon attack a person in hibernate?

    Thanks for the help
  8. On most of my Doms I try and stay at 36%-42% def to range and 20-30% def to aoe,smsh/lthl with about 48% res to smsh/lethal and something else.
I came to the conclusion with the help of forums and the 5k hours of playing doms that for the most part, anything in melee range of u should be under a mez of some sort and when that is not the case you go to range and mez then take them down .

With a decent amount of def and res and a good balancing of going back and forth between your aoe mezz, ST mez, and then your secondary assualt powers. You should be able to stay knee deep in almost any mob.

But for straight up survivability in a dog pile of freaks I would have to say that the /Psi would last the longest IMHO. I have tried the @evil undie AE mish that is full of freak ambushs on my Ice/psi and I usually just bring a tray full of lucks and that's it. When set for +0/8 I usually end up being the last "squishy" standing or the last person standing period. I guess creative combinations of phase shift + good def and heal self can also help u to last longer.
  9. Well finally got my Earth/Earth to lvl 50 last week and have been having a blast. My current build has me at 155% rech with 20%def to range atm. My new build will be 157% with 40% def to range. Only concern is not having a heal built into the build.
The build is End intensive so I have the pancea proc, and Performance shifter + end slotted along with the other + recovery IO's. So these and a powerboosted powersink have aleviated any End problem I was having before.
My current complaint,question... is this.. Am I the only one not impressed with Fissure? If Im reading the details correctly it says its secondary of KB and Stuns both have a "chance of happening". That and the Stuns are mag 2. Radius being 15 range being 20. I found myself feeling let down at finding this power being so lackluster. I even tried it... and didn't like it much.
Also, not sure if it has been posted somewhere else but in the case of the +recharge proc from force feedback, If I slot this in an AOE kb power like, lets say, Tremor.
Will this proc have a chance to activate per Enemy within the aoe radius or just per activation? Thanks for the time.
  10. Good job bud. My friend was saying someone she knew ,forgot the name of who she said, did it with a Mind/psi build. But, she said that toon didnt have DP (Drain Psi). Am I missing something? Been playing Doms since launch and I dont see how a Dom can outdamage a AV class regen rate. I understand the confuse/ sleep stacks to take out AV's but eventually you will need to kill the last AV by yourself. So any enlightenment on this issue would be very helpful, since I have been stumped since I was first told this.
  11. Whoah, Thought you would be back later bud. I enjoyed my times with you as well and I wish you the best. But I still hope to see you back in game freak.. Did u take Might with you too?. Oh and can I have your purples..................................jk....... .....No I'm not :P Just give me a heads up where u will be hanging your net time at. PEACE
  12. Does summon seer provide a aoe type buff? Similar to toons with pets that use the + resistance or + defense io? Also I thought that Mind was mostly non-positional attacks, but when i go up against a high def type toon soome of my attacks, get deflected, blocked or dodged. Am I missing something? Thnx for the help.
  13. Okay let me rephrase the question about how much damage we will be doing, I know we (/psi) got nerfed with increased end cost, decreased radius (from 25 -15) and higher recharge (10s-20s).
But what I think I am trying to ask is, right now if I hit something with no resistance to psi I do about 189-202 in damage.

How will the new PSW fare? Sorry if there is a simple answer, but I dont really get into the math formulas of the game, i just have the experience in the /psi set. I have about 4000 hours on the /psi set, and I have enjoyed every bit of it, but i guess it was bound to happen. ........ still think its a Nemesis plot.
  14. I got 2 questions. Will Doms have there dmg cap increased? And with the nerf to PSW coming wht will be the max damge it will do when at DMG cap. I think i remember 227 as being the number i got when i hit 300% dmg bonus.
    Thnx.
  15. What are the aggro caps for dominators (without pets). I remember something about our aoe holds going up to 17 I think but cant seem to find it atm. But what is the cap as far as how many enemies we can hold aggro on?

Also what is the recharge required w/DR taken into account to maintain perma dom now? Is it 212%+. Thanks again.
  16. Or should I just avoid this fight all together?
  17. Was wondering what sets would be good in taking on A toon with Elude in PVP zones and arena. Not really going to worry about blasters, but really curious on how do i fight these guys. Do I just wait for elude to wear off? I dont PvP much but when I did pre i13 it was usually a good fight, now it just a matter of watching my life drain till I die. I have a plant/psi and Ice/psi slotted, and now a Earth/Psi (not slotted but getting there.) Do i need to change secondries or Primaires?. Also my builds are geared towards a solid PVE toon, not PVP. But anyways, any input would be appreciated.

. I dont like TF's that favor certain AT's more than others for most of the team slots but when you do this TF you should have at least 1 healer and a kin or kin/healer, Debuffer and or buffer. 1 meatshield and one Dominator.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. Any random assortment of fairly competent players can easily accomplish this Task Force. No tank, healer, nor dominator required. Don't even need to be "competent." Merely "close to competent" is enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay let me rephrase what I said b4 since i forgot about the time the tank dropped. I have beat it without a tank(still had kin and a healer though)and with 5 peeps. Somehow i ended up holding aggro on the healing nic, (so there shows another way to hold aggro). I just kept spamming my BOI on it nand i held aggro while the rest killed rom and the other nics this took 3:26 min. So yes it can be done with a wide variety of toons but it will be done quicker with at least the 4 types of toons I talked about earlier.

please note my BOI is slot with 3 Acc/mez HO's 1 Chance for smash purp and the other Chance for negative purp, so that may have had something to do with it.
  19. Okay here are a couple of things that I have learned from running this 22 times on live now. I have failed miserably 6 times and 2 of those times was because we lost key players. My toon that i use for this itf is Icemindz a non-perma dom, Ice/psi/MU.

I dont post here often and have been gone a while but there are many different ways to do this tf i have found out. I dont like TF's that favor certain AT's more than others for most of the team slots but when you do this TF you should have at least 1 healer and a kin or kin/healer, Debuffer and or buffer. 1 meatshield and one Dominator.
So thats one buffer, one healer type, one meatshield. One Dom or good control type toon. OR at the very least one meatshield and one healer, then anything else. Needless to say Kins make wonderful buffers paired w/dark primary or dark secondary toons. An emp helps out a lot with its ST heals. BUt as long as you have toons that meet these requirements you should have little trouble with the first 3 mishs IMHO. I aoe hold,we kill, AOe hold immobilze, we kill, wash rinse repeat up to last mish.

Here are the ways that we have Killed Romulus:
if you have 1 kin and one tank who can hold the healer nic aggro and /psi toon ( doesnt have to be but Drain psi makes a notable difference on how fast the av (ROm ) goes down) and the rest are Melle toons you can actually fight anyway you want as long as you stay close together. The damage output exceeds the healing rate of the nic and transfusion helps with the heals when you time it after the AOE hit mire attacks. Oh and god forbid the spawns are around when you hit fulcrim shift, lmao. BUt anyways that ended up being my fastest time yet at 1:37 min.

The longest run took us four hours because the tank did to good a job of holding the healer type aggro and when Rom died he was out of line of sight of the Nics and he despawned. WEll it took us forever to kill the healer since the team makeup only had one melle toon and kept healing off of everyone. I finaliy decided to have just the Robot MM attack at range with the Tank till he died. All the other toons just waited or jumped in and out and attacked between heals. So rememeber to have the person holding NIC aggro to run to ROM if it seems the other nics are to far away from him.
The other run we did was with more controller type toons, We Ran through the first 3 mishs the fastest but the last mish was a pain because we had Rom despawn again. 2 hours 16 min.

Another run had us at 2 hours but same setup as the before but in this case we had rom rez 3 times. Much faster btw.
All the other setups adhered to having a buff type toon, debuffer, meatshield and Dominator. Slows work well on all the mishs. And if you have Accolades its even better, probably more i want to to say and write but since Im in Japan atm I have to finish taking some calls cuz im stillat work, you can reach me here or at @lifewind. Hope what ever the hell i just wrote makes sense lol, im a bad typer. you all have a nice day.

Well, as someone often accused as a "prodomite", I have never PM'd anyone about a post. If I disagree I post why, but thats really as much so everyone seeing it can get the dissenting opinion, rather then for the sake of arguing.

I have gotten PMs from people who strongly disagreed with me, but even then, it was still trying to convince me of something, wasnt hate mail.

    Sheesh. Sorry to hear that.

Whether or not a dom can "out-control" a corruptor is irrelevant because a corruptor can provide enough control.

Consider brutes. A granite brute can tank the entire last mission of the RSF. Personally, while I consider that to be clearly "out-controlling" a dominator, all that matters is that it's enough control. So... are brutes overpowered as well?

    [/ QUOTE ]

A granite brute can tank WITH THE SUPPORT OF MANY CORRUPTORS. I think this is a vitally important point. I think a LRSF with 1 corruptor would fail even if it had all the remaining members were granite brutes. First, in granite form brutes dont do great damage (DPS is low actually). Second, they still cant solo tank an AV, much less 5 AVs. I know this because granite TANKS cant do it, so its clear the brute is weaker. However, with corruptor support, they can tank it and so can other brutes (just not as well).

    [ QUOTE ]

I can't think of a single situation in the game where a dominator is a better choice for a teammate than a corruptor (except for stalker heavy teams), but for months trying to get that point out on these forums got me hate-mail.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hard to believe you got any mail at all about this (prob just people posting that disagreed with you), but I consider this hyperbole. Other than AVs, a dom can completely 100% mitigate any damage at all from anything else in the game (bosses take ~7 seconds instead of 1 second). I dont know if I can say a dom is a BETTER choice, but most of the time they are as good as choice. Powers such as ice slick, seeds of confusion, mostly remove the need for healing (no incoming damage) and are better than debuffing, unless there are multiple corruptors on the team. Corruptors stack better than other ATs, which is why they are so good in the LRSF.

    [ QUOTE ]

Corruptors are not overpowered. They have a role and they fulfill it. As do Brutes.

Dominators are underpowered. I wish they were not. But they are.

The RSF isn't an unfair encounter, it's simply a magnifying glass to show what the ATs are capable of.

I'm not trying to troll, I sincerely would like to see something changed - mostly the click-nature of the inherent - to make what is clearly a team-oriented AT useful in that scenario. But the reality is that currently, on a good 8-man team, a dominator adds exactly nothing. The fact that people are seeing this same problem in RSF is no surprise to me. The AT needs a boost. Badly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, first, I can solo a large 8 man spawn with my AOE hold up on my dom (power boosted AOE hold, most dead before start cycling ST hold and laying down the slick). Its the multiple AVs, with their triangles, that really make a dom less useful, combined with the stacking of corruptors that make it better to just keep adding corruptors.

On an 8 man team, I easily carry my share and often more. Versus 8 AVs, I can easily see why I wouldnt carry my share. Even versus 1 AV, I dont consider myself to carry the share of the load I'm used to carrying. Its a problem caused by the decision to reduce the effectiveness of AOE holds and holds versus AVs (and players in PVP).

I heard that doms needed more damage when I first started playing one. They added melee damage, and no change at all in the complaints. They reduced domination cycle time, so it can be up more, still no reduction in complaints. Unless they change Doms to high damage and make us the COV version of blasters, I dont see damage boosts making us better team mates, nor does adding health (another running suggestion).

Whatever the solution is, it has to address the lack of allowed controls vs AVs and in PVP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I totally agree with ya dude. Doms Carry there weight and then some. We are not Av killers, thats why you make teams. But we
do Damage to mobs in our on "special way", be it Aoe holds, confuses, sleeps or Debuffs.

I must say that after months of trying to point out overall team-PvE effectiveness issues relative to other AT's, I find this new topic almost funny.

Rather than admit doms may be underpowered, the new argument is that corruptors are overpowered.

    [/ QUOTE ]

However funny this may appear, it is a valid point of view. Its the flip side of the same mirror. If (as some say) corruptors can out control a dom, its clearly a design flaw with corruptors, as they should have no ability to get close to dom level of control. Plus, controls have been nuked as too strong (vs AVs, AOE holds, etc), so if they have more controls than doms, surely corruptors need nerf. Not saying I agree with it, but its surely reasonable.

I dont know ice corruptors, so will stick with a dark corruptor.

The reason I see my dark corrutor as strong on a team, is not the damage (dark damage really isnt that good, IMO), but the AOE debuffs.

You have tar patch (- resistance and slow), darkest night (-damage, -acc), and shadowfall has an aoe buff (+defense and +resistance). Discounting the pet, thats a decent amount of damage reduced via +resist +def on team, -damage and -acc on mobs. Further, taking the case of 5 of them on a team, you now have all of the AVs bottomed out, because all of these effects overlap.

To me, its the overlap and triangles (ie. holds dont work) that really make the difference. If our AOE holds could be made perma, so 5 doms could spam AOE holds and the AVs didnt have triangles, then we would be as welcome as corruptors on the LRSF.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem is not that corruptors can out control a dom.

Because, on paper they just can't.
The problem is that, Dom's don't have enough control to make up for the fact that all you need is 6 mag to get the control you need, and the fact that the next step is 50+ mag.

If dom powers were mag 6-7 BEFORE domination. Then.. You'd find that doms had enough of a mag over-load to do something about AV's.

The other option btw... is this:
    Minion mag -1
    Lt mag -2
    Boss mag -5
    EB mag -8
AV mag -8 + Triangle buff

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree with most sadly that the Lord R. strike force is biased towards some AT's. When i get a chance and The peeps i know hit 50 I want to see How far I can go with a team OF 4 Doms and 4 Corrs. But to say that A Brute can out " control" a dom. I have to disagree. Holding aggro and stopping a mob are 2 different types of control. But a Brutes control goes away when mobs get spilt. With My toon I can control 3 different mobs at once. when I use all mY aoe holds and creepers and confuse . And they dont have to be herded to one spot either. I have yet to see Corr out hold me or Out control a Dom. ( well me at least) Corrs are Good on damage and buffs but lets not make them or any other AT look like Crowd control experts. You invite A dom to a team For more Crowd control, you ivite a corr to a team For more damage or buffs. You invite a Brute to a team for more damage and holding aggro. I guess I am one of the few who is way more happy with his dom than dissappointed. Yeah I guess we could use some loving of sorts, but I have enjoyed my Dom from day one and any love we get is appreciated but im not begging for it. sure I got a wish list of what I would want dominators to have, but isnt that the same for other At's?
  23. Done the Lord recluse Sf now 17 times. tried 7 times before the regen patch and 10 times after the regen patch. Completed it 6 times after the Regen patch. The most doms we had on the team were 2 and the most stalkers we had on a team were 1.

Doms help to hold the av's or heros and we usually had them held more than 33% of the time. I would even push 40% for some of the team make ups we were on. But it is sad to agree with the fact that after the 4th mish , and with out the log trick and the temp power( im not saying which) for single pulls, the 5th mish is damn near impoosible for teams with more than one stalker or dom on it.

52's arent a problem with good team work. 54's are like waiting for Ice to melt at the north pole. I have done the sf (before the log trick patch mind you), with 2 inv brutes,1 Brute only ( had to use temp ower for that one) and 2 doms. I was working with different setups to prove that it could be done with out just corrs and brutes. It really sucks that the best Combo for this sf are corrs and brutes. Where in ,you can do the hami raid with all the AT's .
