  1. Everything works great, except CoH, which is buggier than I've ever experienced it (not blaming the game). Running Windows 7 64bit, very fast i5 processor, loads of RAM, NVIDIA GT220. Windows alerted me to a problem with colours, saying CoH was unable to use the new Win 7 colours, and the system was reverting to basic colours while the game was running. Maybe there's a conflict beyond that.

What's happening is a combination of power activation delay (5 seconds or so), rubber banding, screen freezing that allows me to pan around my toon, and game freeze that stops everything on the screen for periods of time.

Even on the toon selection screen, the game freezes when I click on a toon. I noticed that about 1/3 of the CoH "star" or the CoV "spider" icon sticks to my cursor. After I click on a toon and move the cursor away, a chunk of the icon stays with me... weird.

Oh, and the colours have become very intense, like technicolor or something.

Here's the dxdiag of my system:

I just noticed that the Netgraph is showing what looks like a spike pattern something like this: 11 1 1 which results in my toon getting yanked backwards.

    Virtue Down?

Virtue and Guardian just went down again.
  3. First, thank you for another fun Super Booster. Well worth the bucks.

I'm disappointed that my dual blades scrapper, Ossum Possum, can't fully enjoy his new sizzlin kung fu robe because, once again, tails are not available with robes. I find this curious, since robes already have a slit up the back that should reasonably allow a tail to protrude. If this is an issue of clipping, there are a great many clipping issues in the game that surely look far more awkward than a tail poking out of a toons's backside. In fact, I have been able to pull off some unique and effective looks only because some pieces clip and overlap.

It's not like I have tails on every hero and villain, but I am a purist and *hate* radically amputating a toon's limb just to wear a new costume piece, however sweet it looks. Show tails some love for pitty's sake. The ones we have access to are kind of sad and undignified as it is... at least let us try to proudly sport our tails with the widest range of costume options possible.

I realize this probably meandered right into Jay's territory, so I'll post there as well. I did feel the point was relevant to the Booster Pack, however.

    Thanks!

This has been bugging me (accidental pun) for years, but I've gotten pretty good at grabbing enhancements from thin air.

A more significant and bothersome problem is having Mastermind pets drop team as you enter/exit missions or change zones. The pets will follow, but do not appear in the pet window, and therefore they cannot be controlled (or dismissed). When you click on one, it's like clicking any other toon not currently on your team (i.e. blue box).

They will rejoin you if you buff them, and that seems to have to be done for each one individually. They will sometimes rejoin you when you subsequently zone again. I'm surpirsed this isn't listed as a known issue. I assume the reference that is made to MM pets refers to the way they will drop from the ceiling or do other weird things when you zone... this is beyond a behavioural issue though, and defeats the purpose of having them zone with you as well as the all-at-once pet upgrades, since you essentially have to rebuff them somehow one at a time to get them back.

Summoning new pets doesn't work either, you just end up filling in the ranks, and the new guys will be on your team by themselves.

I went to see Annah, and she had the same message about TOT salvage/costume slot that she always has. Was she supposed to be providing news about the 2009 event activities?
  6. Another SSK Issue

Friends and I were trying to run the ITF last weekend. The leader needed to go afk for dinner, and he logged out to help keep spawn numbers down for the rest of the team. The team level dropped from 47 down to 39 or so, based on the new leader's level. Unfortunately, the next TF mission was still set at the previous level, even though none of us had entered it prior to the level change.

We tried various things to correct this issue, but we weren't able to continue the TF. We disbanded and reformed the TF when our original leader returned. But, his computer crashed and the whole thing happened again. This time we had everyone log out, waited for the original leader to log back in first, and then we reconstituted the TF under him to make the levels work properly.

Strangely enough, it seemed that the missions were set at 50 after that. The AV was about +5 in the end, though the difficulty settings were at default and the team was (by then) being led by a level 48 toon.

We assumed this is not working as intended, and I personally filed two bug reports and am petition at the time. I never did hear back froma GM, though it's hard to say with all of the logging in and out to try to get around this issue.
  7. Legion_of_One

    Flight Emotes

I've noticed that fly emotes are being interrupted by a wider range of toggle powers since I16. I knew that World of Confusion and the Pain Domination bubble (Soothing Aura?) have been blocking fly emotes for some time, but now Chilling Embrace is doing it too.
  8. My Controller's Phantasm is disappearing between zones (such as exiting a mission).
  9. "Sidekicking Changes: Super-Sidekicking! One player can now sidekick or exemplar the whole team, everyone can always play together!

Each player in the group's level is set to the level of the owner of the active team task. If no team task is selected, everyone in the group's level will be set to the level of the team leader.
When the team level changes, players will be notified via a dialog and have the option to quit the team or immediately accept. The dialog will time out after 30 seconds at which point acceptance is implied.
While in the pending state, players cannot receive rewards and any critters they damage will be worth no experience.
Players can choose to auto-accept team level changes 0 to 50 levels above or below their current level.
Exemplars will now earn XP and a level capped person will get XP converted into influence like exemplars used to. "

Did I just imagine reading that toons that are downleveled while super-ex'd would retain access to 5 power levels beyond the level to which they are lowered? Or is it that these toons will have access to any powers that would have been granted within the next 5 levels, period?

Neither of these was mentioned in Avatea's release notes, so I was wondering if something had changed?
  10. I just tried right-clicking the image, selecting properties, and copying the URL in that box. That worked.
  11. Copying and pasting the URL doesn't work. As I said, unless the URL begins with http://www this site won't accept it. I paste, select update, and the URL is immediately removed and the box blanked out with http://www. put back inside.
  12. The problem is that the ImageShack address for my avatar (if I've done this right-- I put the avatar into a gallery of its own) doesn't contain www. and the format of the avatar feature here insists upon www.

The image is located here: http://img442.imageshack.us/i/avatarossumpossumdw4.jpg/ and pasting this address into the field provided doesn't work. Once I paste it and press enter, the address vanishes and the template for the start of the address returns.

Any further advice would be appreciated!
  13. The Dev's Digest is looking very buggy.

Also, User CP is a vague title for user preferences/settings. I guessed at its purpose and got lucky.

I'm disappointed that there is still no option to upload an icon from my computer rather than having to provide a link an URL. I'm not even sure I can remember how I did it in the first place

After looking at the Avatar options again I see that this is different from the old forum method of adding an avatar, and I can't figure out how to use the code options in ImageShack. Seriously, would a browse function be so bad?
  14. When did the option to generate a random costume get removed from the Tailor? I never used that function, but decided to make the most of the new Super Tailor and created a toon that was supposed to radically change his appearance on a whim, and I had planned on the randomizer to get particularly oddball costume combinations.

Now that I want to use that function, I can't find it! It used to be a button, I think, near the bottom of the costume editor. It would be nice if that could even be added to the list of pre-fab costumes for those who liked the unpredictable look.
  15. I just noticed something about the motorcycle leathers (pants). The zippers that are located down near the ankles have been dislocated on the inside of the pants. Not something one would normally see, but with the particular flight emote I was using it was really obvious that the inside zippers were laying almost perpendicular to the outside zippers (and these are supposed to be one and the same zipper).

Small stuff, but there you go.

For reference, this was a female toon with flared motorcycle leathers.
  16. Not expecting anything, really. Enjoying the exercise, though

I know the topic has been raised in the past, but like any idea, it's worth revisiting from time to time. People have been playing this game for more than 5 years. It's reasonable to expect that some players would like to have some room for growth on their preferred servers. I currently have a free slot available to me that I can't make use of, and I would buy even more if I could add them to the server of my choice-- which would require expanding beyond 36 slots.

Even if I had 50 toons on one server, I can only play one of them at a time, so no fear of population explosion. I agree that if there is significant cost to enable slot expansion on demand and there are relatively few players interested, this idea simply won't float. But I wouldn't know that for certain, and since this would be a fee-based option, costs would be offset in any case.
  17. Excuse the bad math... under the weather and a little fuzzy. But not so fuzzy that I'd be interested in spending another $14 per month to start up a brand new account when I've been playing for 60 months on the one I have.

Who says 36 is plenty? NCSoft is looking to hang onto players-- why not offer more slots? Why not reduce the number of servers and increase capacity on the ones that remain? Why not go serverless all together? I dunno, I'm giddy on daytime meds!
  18. My greatest love in this game is of breathing life into a hero or villain concept. I have too many toons to count, but have a particular dilemma on Virture where I long ago reached my maximum of 36 characters. What's killing me is that I can't create new toons on my favourite server where all of my online friends game, and I'm either forced to banish a B-class toons to another server (thus risking losing their names) to create a spot, or I just go without, which detracts from my experience.

Has any discussion been had on how to get around this limitation? If people are willing to pay for more than 30 slots on one server, are resources so tapped that this can't be accommodated? After all, I'd still only be able to play one toon at a time, unlike some friends who got around this and other barriers by creating a whole new account and occasionally run with two of their own toons at the same time!

This issue is very, very high on my personal wish list for this game. I'm all for new content, but it's crossed my mind that I won't be able to enjoy much new content (i.e. new AT, powersets) if I can't expand my gallery of heroes and villains on Virtue. My friends don't breed toons as rapidly as I do, so for me to start branching out to another server means that I won't be playing with my online buddies, who have a well-established network of companions on Virtue.

Is this a topic of interest for either the players or the developers?

    (correction: 36 slots, not 30)
  19. 6:45 PST and the new NC Soft store is still gimped. Frustrating when one is *trying* to throw one's money away!

How can we enter numbers and letters in an image that doesn't exist?

    Edit: nm, it finally came up: X X B S ... fitting.
  20. Thanks for the response, BAB. I hope when you quoted me that you didn't misunderstand me. I really do expect the development team(s) to be working like mad on future expansion-- in fact, your response was an affirmation of that speculation.

I stand by my concern about not being able to set a mission without first gathering all team members into the same zone (which, by the way, makes the new Mission Teleporter from the Mac edition useless in many instances) or not knowing who just sent you a tell or what they were saying to you.

It's been weeks-- almost months-- since these major bugs started to negatively impact game play, and letting (or appearing to let) BIG issues like these persist without mention leaves players like myself and my friends (all COx diehards, by the way) feeling, well, bugged and a little bit forgotten.

Great to hear from you. Maybe one of your colleagues can let us know what's on the radar in terms of big fixes coming up? I noticed tonight there's a big patch, but no patch notes again
  21. OK, I've read through about half of the posted comments on this patch. What has been bothering me about this patch is the actual patch itself, the odd power tweaks and such (notice how I'm not mentioning the badge-sniping). There are bugs in this game that have been interfering with game play for a couple of months, namely the chat-clipping and the inability to set/enter homogeneous hero or villain missions while players are out of zone. These aren't even listed as known issues, which makes me wonder... why? These aren't quality of life issues or things that bug PVPers or badge hunters-- these make game play frustrating every time I and my gaming buddies log into the game. Not patched. Not mentioned. On the radar?

I suspect the developers are very busy preparing I14, the next booster pack and future content, and I don't expect things to be fixed overnight. But I'm talking about major, universal, problems that cropped up before the winter event and I guess I'm kind of stunned at the lack of notice or mention of them. Moreso when I look at the content of this patch.
  22. Gosh, in looking back there have been so many great updates to the game this year.

The whole Midnighter/Cimerora content and the ITF have provided many hours of fun with friends.

Personally, the correction to Kheldian power sets has been extremely gratifying-- thanks!
  23. I'm just not getting this (and I've been trying for 4 1/2 years). What are the [image][/image] tags for, and when are they supposed to be used? Which string of code from ImageShack is actually acceptible to this forum's UI? None that I've tried have worked, and I've tried most of them with and without the header/footer codes mentioned in the FAQ.

Why-oh-why don't they just offer a browse and upload option? I have over 50 toons, and a fabulous screenshot selection with no easy way to add a tiny avatar to my forum ID... *cries*
