Thing is Neuronia, they can do a natural centric story or issue for them is no problem. Revenge stories, and any story of golden age hero stories who used either a gun or their brains can be told with no problems. Hell, we have Council and Nazis for that. Mutants as GG said is a bit harder(not in so many words), but I still do feel mutants do need something to represent them without crossing into M.U. territory. We have mutants already(such as they are), but are under used and useless if not a joke. Elemental mutants? Who deal in magic items and fight drug induced hyped up wannabe trolls? Come on. The Tsoo, a street ninja gang who were a joke for a while there but were upgraded to Incarnate threat level because of DA. Why can't Frosty get his Incarnate power and put an new expanded mutant group on the map?

With Malta you run into the whole Sentinels or any other anti mutants group I am sure Marvel has covered alot.

Quote:I think part of the problem might be that Marvel's so thoroughly dominated the mutant concept for so long that it's hard to come up with mutant-themed story ideas that they haven't already explored. And if CoH even accidentally writes a major storyline that happens to resemble a plotline Marvel used at some point over the decades, it'll just whip Marvel's lawyers into a whole new frenzy.
This is kinda what I am afraid of. Marvel has written so many stories concerning mutants in every possible way that is there no way to write a decent one without bringing the ire of Marvel U. again down on this studio. -
Quote:Everyone in Praetoria is a mutant if you ask me.
And the Rogue Isles too.
Stinking mutants.
Rogue are ran by science and magic with a sprinkle of technology. No mutants
Praetoria is the same, Ghouls, Destroyers, PPD and the lot? non mutants. Seers? Perhaps mutants.
Stinking flatscan. -
My question is, will there be an in-game event?

Sorry to be blunt but In other words, there has not been one in the 22 issues that I can remember. We have issues that has covered the other origins, but mutants have been under represented as of late if at all. We have had both magic and science covered in Dark Astoria, Ritki War Zones( loved that issue 10 by the way. And no the Lost are not mutants, they are mutates), Menders, and everyone else under the sun including natural(Kheldians) but not mutants. Are mutants again a hot button topic(X-Men) that should be shied away from? Are they just fillers or sidekicks to the other origins? Or is there really no story that can be told without it turning into an X-book?

Quote:/thisNot that those issues were the height of new game content (especially the one that was nothing but DAAAAAY JOOOOOBS!!), the fact remains that it wasn't eight straight issues of a war with the Rikti
Eight issues of nothing but Ritki would make me a happy hero(military mutants), such a storyline would not sit well with many out there. I also would like to point out that issue 15 the return of the 5th was more of a "revenge issue" for them against the Council the heroes were just there to stop their war from tearing the city apart. There is currently a level 25-35(?) solo TF you can do that shows how much they hate each other. -
Still in shock. What the flammin' did I just see? And is there any therapy in existence to make the bad person go away?

Simple, no real world impact. I find AE like the holodeck on Star Trek. Fun if you wanna be Sherlock Holmes or replay the battle of 1942 as a Klingon soldier(joke) or events that has already happened. Another example: AE is like reading Elseworlds from DC comics and they are fun to read once in a while but I find some depressing and no connection to the main universe with the characters I know(Russian Superman or ManBat comes to mind). I play to be a comic book hero of today in the main universe not an alternate or elseworld and thus my actions will have an impact tomorrow and SSA 1-7 were a perfect example of this and I played the hell out of it despite some "huh" moments. Real impact, real story I eat that stuff up.
But that is my view and not a knock on anyone who works hard on their stories, I know how hard it is to come up with a cool idea and put it to action. -
Never thought of Ralaruu as magical, more of universe like power cosmic(yes, I used a Marvel Comics term) than magic.

Nice clip. Tho I wish they would stop with showing the movie in tidbits.

......To control their vehicles. Didn't they learn anything from Terminator 3?

The trial actually looked great, I liked how Cole justified his actions in a way like "look at what you made me do". We win, but Praetoria now looks like something out of the Fallout series.

How cool it would have been, if Wade got so big at the end and pulled a Unicron and slammed his hand on the planet

I have my lesson in frustration. Second mission and Sirrocco is no where to be found. Not a good start.

Wow..Not my thing, but a good stress reliever on it's own

Been a month and no SSA7? Really wanted the final issue of this mini series. Feels like I am back in the 90's waiting for an Image comic to be shipped in and was delayed because of (insert reason here)
.Guess I will play with the beasties.
