    Servers down?

    And we're back folks!

Welcome to the shin diggs. Remember, if you see a cat gurl grab it by the tail and slice it off then turn around and stuff it back in their face. That'll grab their attention and introduce yourself.

    Why?

The OP is right. Pocket D is full of lamers. I go there sometimes to show everyone that the sexy flamer still lives. Now everyone go to Pocket D and dance, screw RP... or you can just screw in the bathroom. It's a club.
  4. Yea I have no clue what is wrong with my computer. I went from having plenty of space to having 0% free. It seems to keep going up and down. I'm at a loss on what is going on with my computer. I think the latest patch brought me some bad luck (not blaming anyone lol). I can't even run hijack anymore and I never touched it after posting it here. I can run CoH Helper, but you'll see the same thing except it's at 0% free space. I'm just gonna give up and sit and wait for money to get my new system. I've ran everything I can think of and can't find any malware that is causing it. I have no clue what is taking up all of that space when I have almost stripped down my computer to just a game and some photo/editing programs and microsoft programs. Oh well....

Side not, yea I did defrag the drive nothing happened.

So the computer gods must have done something because it magically fixed itself heh... Nevermind this statement.
  6. So I don't know what I did in my uninstalling anything and everything I no longer use or want anymore but I went down to 0% free hard drive space... heh I guess I just made everything worse. Hope I can just get my computer sooner and just throw my old thing away. Anyways, thank you for your help Texas Justice you helped me a lot by learning some new stuff. Maybe I can fix it, maybe not. Will see.

Will see if I can get the router restarted later today and post feedback.

You can try to install the newest Intel driver for your card using the Intel Driver Update Utility from the Intel site. That's not going to do much good either though since the newest driver for that card is from 2007. You're basically out of luck for up to date drivers for that old of a chipset.
Yea, I've tried to update it but I guess it never downloaded properly heh but still never had a problem with CoH before the latest patch on the lowest settings.

Also, your free space on your hard drive is at 13%. Windows can do some really weird things when it gets under 20%. I'd recommend freeing up some space and defragmenting your hard drive.
Will be working on that. I myself didn't know I was that low, don't use that comp much anymore besides playing CoH heh doh!

First, I see that the Stardock is still running. This is from the same company that makes WindowBlinds and could be sharing some of the same code.
Hm... any idea how to uninstall it then? I really don't need it. Gonna look around to see if I can just get rid of it fully thanks.

    Quote:
Second, even though your CoH helper shows you have an Intel video chipset, I see entries for the nVidia video card drivers in your HJT log.
Yep, I use to have a nVidia card but it burnt up hoping to get a new computer before the start of the new semester of school.

    Quote:
Third, you have a LOT of programs running at startup. Way too many that don't need to be running all the time.
Will check into this and see if I can stop most of them.

    Quote:
Fourth, I see entries for both Avast and McAfee. Do you have two anti-virus products installed? That can cause conflicts. If you have Firewalls enabled on either of those, make sure that the CoH folder and executables are set as exceptions in your firewall.
Yea both are installed but Avast is only active. Don't know how to get rid of McAfee and since I'm not subscribed I assume it's not active.

    Quote:
The rest is way more than I'm able to deal with. Hopefully someone with a lot more HJT knowledge will stop in and help with that.
    Thank you for helping anyways.

  11. Oh heh dang I'm not all here right now. I am Cable, not at school in my home but not the owner of the router heh.

I've tried CoH Helper but it timed out. Will try it again and the other one then.

Edit: Also this all happened after update: 1800.201005212331.2T will post what I got from those two programs in a bit.
  12. I know it's not enough information, but there is also not enough information that I can give... if that make sense heh. I use a router, and wired on this computer. I dunno about the ISP. I would love to use those two things but I can not even get to the login screen at all. I'm in a constant state on the screen right after the updater. The "Loading..." screen.

What I do know, I was able to get in game and play normally before the update and now after updating I am stuck on the loading screen. Saw in the Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines thread about getting stopped in the "Loading..." screen having to deal with Window Blinds which I do use, but never had an issue with so I turned it off yet it still doing the same thing. Nothing on my connections have been change that I know of and my antivirus/firewall are the same. I don't have access to restart the router, but I can have it done I believe. I'm at a total loss on what to do and it has me in a huh? state so sorry for my lack of information.
  13. So I haven't logged on in a few weeks and decided to do so yesterday, saw a new patch was downloading so let it do it's thing. Came back and clicked next and accept and went to the "Loading..." screen. Would never leave thought it was a fluke in my comp and turned it off and went to bed. So now trying it again it is doing the same thing as last night. Don't know what to do.

I've restarted my computer, check my firewall settings and what not, flushed dns, and even turned off Window Blinds even though it never effected the game before. I've read over ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ and nothing works on there. Anyone have a solution for this?

    1. Why so low-key? You go on the website and the first thing you see is basically an ad for dual pistols. You have to click over to see the first sign on I17 and it's an old ad that still says the generic "coming soon." Ummm, is everyone so busy that they couldn't update this when the launch date was announced last week? Dual pistols has been out for some time now and wouldn't an ad for, say, demon summoning, be more appropriate since it's also available with I17?
Yea they are slow, but you can find the info you need on Demon Summoning and even vids of it on the GR website as it has been posted many times. The main site can be slow sometimes but it might change today and advertise both of the sets since DP and DS are not part of the i17 deal, it's a nice feature to get when you pre-order GR so not everyone will have it not a major concern.

    2. The 11:53 p.m. posting of server status. I don't know about you, but I am generally not trolling the announcement section of the forums at midnight. I could have last night while enjoying some down time at work, but instead I was trying to determine Ghost of Light's theme song (see other post) and when I could lead a badge exploration tour. If I was in a place where I could be playing CoX I would have been doing that. Ocho is a mediocre community liason at best and knowing that the servers were going to be down for a considerable time on I17 launch day, should have put the word out in a more timely and visible location, i.e. the front page and not four clicks into the forums.
Posting on the forums is much more easier and less time consuming than putting it on the website. Sorry you're the few that dislike clicking the forums and don't like to click constantly the refresh button, don't you know you can't have a life in this game?

    3. Server status unknown. I hate when the feed posts this because you know that the devs are running shakedowns and we the people are on the outside. Lose the unknown and replace it with down. I hate being teased and FYI Paragon folks, if you want to present yourself in a professional, we're educated kind of way, take a second to read the notice you put up to say you are testing the system. Why? Because "to verify todays new publish" is grammatically incorrect. Todays should be "today's" because it is a possessive noun. Am I being picky? Yes. I expect people to read over their stuff or at least use a grammar check before unleashing an annoying message.
And related to the server status page, why does it still have notes relating to April 7 up there? That was three weeks ago! Keep up-to-date news up there because a lot of people are looking at that page today and wondering the same thing I am.
Saying it is down would not be a true statement, the servers are up in a sense we just can't log on to them. So Unknown fits.

    4. I go back to No. 1 about the low-key take on I17. I know a lot of people have been running around on test server the past weeks playing with the new toys. Yet why hasn't anyone at Paragon posted up a video of say, the functional tails? Or better yet, ultra mode? They just recently got around to posting up video of demon summoning (got a name picked out for that already) but that's more of a ploy to generate more presales of Going Rogue than interest in I17.
Who is to blame for this? I place it firmly on whoever is supposed to be marketing this game. And it makes me question if ANYONE is actually marketing CoX anymore. Does anyone remember the last attempt at CoX (not Going Rogue) marketing? Let me refresh your memory: It was pre AE. Yes, pre AE. And yet long-term players lament the lack of a population on the 8 servers that are not Virtue or Freedom. Come on NCSoft! Use some of that stack of cash to generate some more interest in this game. People love super heroes and CoX has no peers in the MMO game (yeah, I know Champions is out there but c'mon, it's a CoX knockoff) and after 6 years some have forgotten it's out there. With games from DC (coming soon) and Marvel (coming much, much later) on the horizon, now is the best chance to show off and bring folks into the grand worlds that are Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
I agree marketing on CoX does kind of suck, but I think they like to go for a good marketing way, which is word of mouth. Keep diging you'll find some vids or pics from the users/players that fooled around with it.

    5. Because a good list has 5 items, I would like to close by saying that CoX is a great game. I even bought a computer to play it on after my old one was nerfed by the video card changes that came with I13. I love the ability to RP, build bases, build relationships, kick serious butt, play dress up, craft, dance nearly naked in Pocket D, leap over single buildings in a single bound, and blow off some steam after a long day at the office by going into a virtual office building and punch everyone in there in their face. I know I17 will make those experiences even much better and that is why for the past 150 minutes I have sat here waiting, waiting for the chance to celebrate not only I17, but six years of CoX. Here's to many more!
    Your friend,
    A Proud CoX Player
    I <3 CoX too. Yet I </3 most of it's players. That's how I roll.
