I'll go with projectionist and I am assuming that we have until August 2nd and not July 2nd to vote.

And yes as many have mentionned alot of good pieces ... I think I would prefer voting for my top 3 with a 10 pts, 5 pts, 3 pts type of system than a simple 1 vote ... but this is just for fun so ...

  3. Done!

Hope you like her, where do I send the BIG version?

    LJ

EDIT: Couldn't stop messing with this... I like them both, but for different reasons... anyway check it out!
  4. I agree... jealous I didn't get one, but not sure if you would've wanted an art trade?
  5. I wanna vote for the piece with me in it, but that would be favoritism... my vote goes to Juggertha.
  6. The original drawing I did of Ken was more like this one, it was a straight on head shot. I liked the side view reference, but I really didn't want to copy it. I wanted to do my own version. But since I hadn't researched him, I ended up having to make up a dragon face out of thin air. And let me tell you... it was BAD.

I'm talking he looked like a cross between a donkey and a demon... and a not very scary one to boot. So I HAD to use your side reference, and while it was okay, in the back of my mind I felt I had copped out because I hadn't bothered to look for reference.

THIS version is more of what should have happened. While the crab legs are huge, I wanted them to feel like wings... the lower half was just an impulse inclusion because I didn't want to post up a half a pic, it would look like I was too lazy to draw feet. So I went for more dragony features, especially with the tail, which is my favorite part... totally improvised by me... well after studying the scaleliness of the iguana pic.

It's okay that you don't love it. I really had to see if I could pull off something more in keeping with what I would have done, given the time. The first version was probably drawn in 20 minutes. This one took an hour, and 10 minutes of research... Sorry for the over buffness, I was drawing the neck really wide, and it seemed to belong to a buffier kind of dude... plus to me, every time I look at him, he says,

"Say hello to my little friends..."

    Anyway no worries.
  7. I got my Live Stream room up, but now I'm paranoid to be watched... it is so much fun though. I'm gonna get my courage up and maybe send out the link to a select few, to see if I can handle the pressure. I also noticed my pc and painter and LS and playlist are not happy campers... hard to work without music though.
  8. gonna be a tough decision... nice one foo.
  9. Happy Birthday

... and yes I will color this one tomorrow..

Yeah, sorry about that, LJ. It was kind of the only detailed reference I had for Ken at the time. Thanks to Bayani and Brandon McKinney, however, I've got a slanted view now, so if I ever get the funds to nab something from you for Ken or his crew, now there's another reference to use.

group pieces are code for change that, change this and don't sleep...

Hey, don't blame me for no sleep, I don't remember being the one that decided The Usual Suspects needed 3 different crops of art ;D

lol yes some of it is self imposed, damn perfectionist... i both hate and love myself...

  19. I asked all these same questions... he said the free version works perfectly fine, which is what he had used. And the software which is downloadable, hooks to either your desktop and only shows that, OR your camera if say you wanted to do a live video cast...

edit: Gonna try this myself later today or tonight.
  20. yeah you keep learning, cause you're schooling me!
  21. hey thanks for the crit. I see what you mean about Aquarian. Frankly I know what you're saying, but I was so happy the way it came out, I was afraid to touch her... but yeah those touches would definitely help.

Yeah Ken was a struggle, the client provided the side view, and well I wasn't up on my dragon drawing skills that day. I should have done some more research... the crab legs were a *****, which is why I didn't draw the tips, but I see what you mean. It definitely could use a tightening up.

As for Escapee, I really like her head, and must confess my plant-iness, is not what it should be... hate drawing fauna. I did try more leaf lines, but it started to get to heavy, and dark. I felt her expression made up for her lack of foliage. Someone more plantier than me will have to draw her more convincing...

Hochroter changed completely during the coloring of Aquarian, on my blog you can see the happier white face she had. I was really enamored of her redesign, something HD pointed out that she had a new look... so it was revision time on the spot, and a few layer later, she was a glowing blue ball...

All in all, I had a lot of fun with this group piece, but it's something I wouldn't want to do often. You can never please everyone, because really they will all want to be the focus, and group pieces are code for change that, change this and don't sleep...

I will condsider adding those retouches. I think they will help make it better, thank you again.

  22. Thanks B, hey we ran part 1 of your Story Arc last night, was a lot of fun to fight "flips"... I should have made a James Bond character so I could re-enact TMWTGG... looking forward to more!

Thanks everyone, more creepiness to follow.
  23. Lots of fun that... you really like to desaturate don'tcha... it's almost part of your style.
  24. Too bad you can't keep the recording of it, that would be fab...
