Very cool!
OK, let me try this again. Maybe this time the (r)UBB(ish).boards won't eat muh post...
Ken the Dark Dragon is an AWESOME idea! I'm jealous of DeviousMe for thinking of it, and wish I'd thought of it. Oh well!
As for the art, it's VERY nice! I'm a dragon lover, and it looks very dragon-ish! Excellent job!

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:

No worries, LJ. I can just grab it straight off DA - though the 'bad news' isn't so much that it's not colored (it's damn cool as-is ), but that I'm not really sure where I could put it since you drew him waaay too buff (Ken: I wish I had all that muscle
) and your first work already captured him so well that it became the new headshot ofhis profile. The 2.0 is of course greatly appreciated, but with the near-perfection of the 1.0...not sure where to put it.
And to be fair, the original character was created by a friend of mine. The only thing I'm responsible for is putting him in the game. We were just talking one day and I asked if those few residual wing muscles still worked. He said yes, and with that Ken was suddenly wearing shrink pants and a crab pack in the world of CoX. So the Ken you see today is the idea of two people, not just one - just like his command crew, Groul and Arek, are compound characters from other friends of mine.

Characters
The original drawing I did of Ken was more like this one, it was a straight on head shot. I liked the side view reference, but I really didn't want to copy it. I wanted to do my own version. But since I hadn't researched him, I ended up having to make up a dragon face out of thin air. And let me tell you... it was BAD.
I'm talking he looked like a cross between a donkey and a demon... and a not very scary one to boot. So I HAD to use your side reference, and while it was okay, in the back of my mind I felt I had copped out because I hadn't bothered to look for reference.
THIS version is more of what should have happened. While the crab legs are huge, I wanted them to feel like wings... the lower half was just an impulse inclusion because I didn't want to post up a half a pic, it would look like I was too lazy to draw feet. So I went for more dragony features, especially with the tail, which is my favorite part... totally improvised by me... well after studying the scaleliness of the iguana pic.
It's okay that you don't love it. I really had to see if I could pull off something more in keeping with what I would have done, given the time. The first version was probably drawn in 20 minutes. This one took an hour, and 10 minutes of research... Sorry for the over buffness, I was drawing the neck really wide, and it seemed to belong to a buffier kind of dude... plus to me, every time I look at him, he says,
"Say hello to my little friends..."
Anyway no worries.
Details on this version...

Larger version on DA.
And now the bad news... sorry no time to color this. Make sure to download it to see it up close, and DeviousMe, I will email you the large version... umm that is if you want it (lol need your addy again though...)
