You might want to hold some influence for i11, all new hairstyles for men... btw ment to ask you, was the long haired version in the Doug Shuler piece your interpretation or his?
-
I've been wondering, is this more of what you were after, I was looking at my Patriette sketch and realized that the plane was like 60% of the image, and she wasn't prevalent enough... So if you like I can come up with a more simplified action shot for her, much like the War Patriot peace above... OR your other choice is that I could add her to the above piece, and have the two of them together? Which would you care for? And don't say I leave it up to you... I'd rather do what you want.

Yeah it got bent adding the boot fittings below the knee, odd optical illusion, but anyway, I fixed it as per your suggestions
, and cleaned him up a little in Photoshop.
This style is really for my late night sketching, as I use my wife's Mac, and just try to get around her Illustrator program, that I like to draw in...
I use Illustrator too on my pc, but as per any artist, I have my own preferences, brushes, and settings. Her Mac is set for all her vector work, and I have to be careful not to change too much, or man she gets evil!
J/k, but that's how I roll after midnight...

I think I can do it, I may have to trace the plane to save time, but I'm gonna use a retro plane for it. Anyway, here's another pass at your toon, kind of Gene Colanesque if you ask me, not the final, just reminding myself of the particulars...

Thank you sir I finally heard back from the client today:
"Amazing job and well worth the wait. Hope all is well and thank you once
again. Take care.

Yeah I had a vision is all I can say, I was thinking of the new Iron Man trailer where he's flying by the jets and I thought, wait, that would be cool for this toon, what if, she was doing a fly by and the pilot saw her as she was saluting... so here's my mini sketch took about 30 minutes start to finish. I'm gonna do the appropriate research for the pilot and plane when it comes time to do her.
Basic idea is the image of her will be a reflection, but I won't fade it too much, the arm and cape will be more in focus, just as a hint. Sides I don't want to draw a full toon from the back, especially when you won't see her face, it would be a waste of time.
Anyway, hope you like her...

oh and what DK said, City of Artists has everyone...

Don't worry, I have something special for the girls, as for the color on the Bruiser that was just a test... This piece is going to be colored as in various stages, in fact I might have to chop it n 3, so you may be getting a tryptich.

When you say you can't draw, do you mean the stuff coming out isn't what you want it to be specifically, like say your circles are ovals your straight lines are curved? Are you trying to draw something in particular? Is this for yourself by the way?
If it's inspiration you're lacking I would suggest to go see some live art at a museum. Add that to your finding something cool to watch, and let's not forget something to listen to as well... you need to ignite your senses, eat something fun...
Often a rutt is caused by the grind of the same daily routines, so you need to change that first before anything will change with your spirit. I've heard many people suggest decluttering your work space, so that only what inspires you is within reach or sight.
If you're looking for specific technique, I'd need to know what you're trying to achieve, and perhaps we can go from there...
Oh and get some hugs... (((((((((Hexy)))))))))))))

Sorry to hear about your loss, I'm hope the work can distract you even for a little while...

Oh! i like that one a lot! How long did you spend on it?
[/ QUOTE ]
The very first drawing I sent him, a month ago took about an hour, it was just the same head you see here and outline of the body, very light lines showing the costume details. Today the inking took about 3-4 hours, and actually I'm still working on it trying to make the background more dramatic...
The final color will take at least 4 hours if I'm lucky...

Quixotic is in fact my longest waiting client, and been really terrific about waiting nearly 5 months for both his pieces, well 2 months through missing the first queue and these past 3 months while I've been changing styles and learning more.
Today I'm finishing his second piece, after reading a lot of Pat Lee material, I'm inking him up nice and loose, and then going straight to color...
Here's my reference - link
Stayed tuned for more.
LJ
PS: Dark Lilac, sorry to keep you waiting too, but I have to finish this last piece, and then you'll get the rest of the week. It's the only way to give your final the attention it deserves. But I promise it will be worth the wait!

This was done for our local computer sales rep at Futureshop (the Best Buy of Canada), who's name is Claude. My wife use to work there too over a year ago, and even now whenever we go into the store, Claude helps us out with the latest deals like the 24" iMac (the wife's
)I'm typing on... and the new wacom I use upstairs...
Anyway Friday night we took the son out for a new game (he bought Two Swords) and I finally showed Claude my DA gallery. He confessed in our discussion that Lady Deathstrike was always his favorite character, in her original outfit designed by Barry Smith... So I promised him I'd do one for him, once again I used reference, this time Japanese Actress - Yukie Nakama...
Lady Deathstrike
Sorry the arms are a little long, but it's late, and this is not my computer... so I get a little sloppyAnyway, decided to screen some tones for his, whaddya think?
