Please keep in mind this section of the Original Post:
Now again, I must stress, the majority of sets, including entire complete sets come from simply defeating enemies. All the costume piece and temp power recipes come from defeating enemies. There are Rare recipes (ones that have a worse chance to drop than others) in Pool A (the defeating enemies pool) as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
How many complete sets are available from 45+ enemies only? -

Ack no EG I don't do TFs or Trials, but I do as many story arcs as I can before out leveling them. Your saying I can't get any of the rarer recipes?
grrrr.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't do trials either. The time commiment just isn't something I can give. The last TF I was in was Positron... right after TF's were turned on... 8 or 9 hours and a numb butt later I swore never again. And yeah, I know not all trials are 8 or 9 hours long, great. Anyone wanna babysit two toddlers for me?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just so you know. The actual Trials shouldn't take longer than 1.5-2 hours each. Some can be cleared in as little as an hour if you know what you're doing. TFs depend a bit more on which one you're doing, but again, most can be done in 3-4 hours by a team that knows what it's doing.
Even Posi and the Shard TFs. It's obviously still a major commitment but if you're teamed with sane people, chances are noone will complain if you need to take out the occasional 10-15 minutes to address real world concerns. That's just the breaks, and people accept that in my experience.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's great. No, really, I'm not being sarcastic. It's just that toddlers don't stick to a schedule very well and it's hard to target stuff when they keep trying to make my character jump.
Without sounding anti-men, I really think it's a guy thing. Buttons, that is. Guys like buttons. Little ones like toys with buttons, older ones like bigger toys with buttons... like cars and boats... The little ones like cars and boats too, just Hot Wheels instead of Dodge.

Inventions has been touted as something that shelved level 50's can partake in. Level 50's that have completed all their story arcs already. Please, how can both of those occur? Level 50's can not experience IO's if they are locked out of acheiving specific rewards because they happened to hit the level cap before I9.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's like I said, we are looking into other options that keeps the mechanic of the four pool system. Our intention is to not make people feel "gimped" for previously completing all their story arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you. Very much.
I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a broken record about this, but it's a big deal for me. I've got two 50's that I want to want to play again. I've got a 36 that I'm seriously not wanting to play right now for fear of missing something. I want to like this system. Really, but it's hard if parts of it are forever out of reach. That's why I'm all broken record sounding. -

* Not every level has all four pools (early levels don't have Pool D, the Trial pool)
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, in THAT case...
... why not just remove the Story Arc pool from levels 45-50, and assign all the relevant rewards to trials and TFs, since level 45-50 characters can do ANY trial or TF from anywhere in the game?
[/ QUOTE ]
Or add some repeatable arcs or something to the 45+ game.
Something. Anything. Otherwise, there's no point to playing a character right now for fear of missing something and outlevelling da kewl loot. -

I think you just made my point. There is only a relatively marginal increase for using the FULL 6 part set vs only 5 of the IOs. The fact is I can use 5 parts and anything else and have a great setup but that defeats the point of using a FULL set. Again, the key word is FULL.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're a completist, I guess... Or if you prefer the bonuses for a full set plus the procs.
There's a lot of ways this looks like it can go and be useful. -
[ QUOTE ]
Some of them DO suck though, like the Slow powers one. Most of my Slow powers need 3 recharge reduceers to be viable, and the Slow sets all include 3 or 4 +slow effects and only 1 +rech effect. I don't need +slow effects when I'm hitting someone with 5 different slow powers. What I need are +recharge so that my good powers are up more than once every 10 minutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, you don't have to use IO's, you can use a combination of IO's and common IO's and some of the set ones.
You can use just a couple or three of the set IO's to get those bonuses (two IO's give you a bonus, three give a bonus plus the bonus for two) or however many you want and use common IO's or S/HO's for the rest of that power. Then use something like Trap of the Hunter in an immob (assuming you have immobs also) and get increased health and acc across the board (assuming you take four of that set).
The possibilities are almost endless. -
She's beautiful.
The only bit of advice that you might not have gotten already...Using as deep a voice as possible, start practicing saying "Actually son, I know you'll treat my little girl right. Cause if you don't, well, I don't mind going -back- to prison."
No, it doesn't have to be true and yes, it works. Ask my dad. -

You don't think it was a personal attack? A statement to the effect of "You could have had my money but now you won't, nyah!" is about as close to personal attack as it gets without using insults, in my opinion. There are ways to express displeasure with sevice providers that don't include taunting them. Personally, I find your wording insulting, but that's just me.

Would you be happier with the following:
Statesman, due to the high volume of bugs the past few months and the poor communications (see removal of Holiday temp powers as but one example), I chose to cancel my yearly subscriptions on my two accounts. I may decide to go month to month when my time expires or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Far, far happier, yes.
Sometimes it's really the way it's said.
[/ QUOTE ]
Truth is that those comments don't get noticed.
On many occassions the Devs have described how they like feedback and the kinds of posts they respond to. You know the kind, with a well stated problem or issue followed by sensible suggestions. But then in practice those types of posts DONT get a response. The posts that get responses are the heated topic and flame-fests, the circular arguments that go on for pages repeating the same stuff.
Squeeky wheel and all that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just because there's no reply is not indicative of whether or not a post was read.

Did someone see the sign and decide not to stop before plowing thru the fence?

I keep thinking of that old story (urban legend?) where States sic'ed Kronos on a mean team.
No, States doesn't need to jab back at people here... he's got your number in-game though.

That was during beta and those characters were going be wiped anyway.
Also, if any rednames are still reading this, I'd love to have a giant monster dropped on me. Any zone. Debt's just another badge but those screenshots would last for-freakin-ever. -

Thanks for the support!
To be honest, criticism comes with the job. I'm not fond of personal attacks, but I understand that people are passionate. Heck, I worked in a comic book store (yep, I was comic book guy), so I understand the vagaries of working with the customer. One thing is tantamount, however - you guys are the PAYING subscribers. I might not like the feedback, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Admittedly, honey is usually more effective than vinegar, but I always try to look beyond that...
[/ QUOTE ]
Honey was my yearly subscriptions which you wont be getting anymore. Its month to month from now on for me how do you like that vinegar.
[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't that paying them more money?
[/ QUOTE ]
No because now I can cancel and come back when I feel like paying.
[/ QUOTE ]
Did you know you get a discount when you buy larger chunks of time? So, if you're paying monthly, you are paying more per month than when you pay yearly.
[/ QUOTE ]
$14.99 a month
$143.40= $11.95 a month
$36 difference
Yes I do but as I see it now , I wont need to pay for at least 6 months out of the year. Ill just play every other month , since it takes at least 4 months for any new content to come out. And if its nothing I like I can wait till the next issue.

Ok, just sounded kinda odd a couple posts ago. Hey, it's your bill, if your cool with it, then it's all good right? -

Keep in mind, some of us know, we just want to vent a little too. I can't make up percentages but I'm willing to bet that some 'gripe posts' are just venting and some are honest complaints and some are just for the sake of stirring the pot.
I'm venting.
Also, CoH was my very first MMO. There's some loyalty there. So, ya'll get a couple more free passes. -
Human nature. Most people remember the bad stuff more than the good stuff. I remember something from some weird psychology class or something how it takes 10 complaints to destroy one complaint but one complaint can wipe out ten compliments... something like that. Anyway, people remember the bad more often, it sticks in their craw so to speak. It's easier to complain and some folks only came to the forums because they have a problem.
Devs and mods know that. They're ok. Granted, complaining about something with facts will get someone more folks who listen, but sometimes, it doesn't matter what you say or how say it, there's people who will disagree. Also, we all have our own 'hot buttons', things that really irritate us. Mine happens to be crashing. No, I don't post a lot of details about my crashes, I go to the support center and submit a support ticket, sending as much info as I can to the QA people who are fixing stuff, not reading the forums.
So, that's why I get get snarky about the crashing. I don't see the forums as the most efficient way to get the information needed to the right people. I see the support center as that. It's the same as filing a /petition in-game. As for others, I can't speak for them but I'm willing to bet some are using the support center and see the forums as just a place to hang out and chat with other players and some just like being negative and there's probably others too with their own reasons. Just like life and people and all. It takes all kinds.
