Prior to the TV show Heroes, I started a cheerleader type character. For some reason, the character never really worked as a hero for me. I tried a couple years ago when I saw energy melee... the pink pom-poms of doom.

But, as a villain, well, let's just say that Cheer Queen Ashliegh is throwing a hissy fit over not getting crowned homecoming queen. She also doesn't take to kindly to people poking fun at her liberal use of "like... OMG!"

I've been a HeroClix fan almost from launch, so when I heard about the Statesman figure I had to get one for my collection. Sorry if my opinion isn't well liked but, oh well. First impressions matter. If NC was using this as a test to gauge this community's actual interest in doing something, well, they got their answer. Sorry if that's not a popular idea, really. Sometimes what we want isn't given to us wrapped in a pretty bow, sometimes there's just a step. I'm really sorry that asking for anyone to see this as an opputunity that might lead to more was such a bad thing of me.

And no, I have nothing at DA. Besides, other than about three things I've got sitting on my desk, I'd have to dig out my paints and actually -do- something. Which, I don't really have space right now that is sufficiently baby-proofed.

Finally, I'm sorry. Really. I saw this whole thing as a step that could be built on. Maybe three or so other people also posted something positive but that's it. The rest was "Thatnks, but no thanks. Not good enough for us." Paraphrased but that's the 'feel' of it. And with first impressions being important and all, well... I now wonder if NC will bother doing anything at all for this community ever again.

I can't say how sorry I am that so few people are seeing this. I don't think I was this upset when Cuppa left, or Alexa or Aura... This... the reactions expressed here has depressed me about this community. I can't imagine what NC will think of this community after this thread. But I'm pretty sure whatever happens, I'll be saddened even more.

It does come off as spoiled. LH isn't Cricket, nor is he Cuppa. It's not fair to hold him responsible for 3 or 4 years worth of being ignored. Gods bless Cricket and Cuppa, they had some good qualities, but they weren't no Bridger. Bottom-line, for me, the difference between what's on the EU main page and the US main page.

No, LH hasn't redesigned the entire website. Heck, that's probably not in his job description. But, he's taken a step to get more involvement from the community and how's he answered? "It's not DA." I can almost hear the smugness coming through some of these posts. And it saddens me. Deeply. Corporations like NC are not *ever* going to bend over backwards for someone. It's just not done. You meet them halfway. Unfortunately, we as players have failed at that. Anything NC had planned for the main page will likely be flushed.

I'm sorry but this is just so damn sad. The thing everyone claims to have wanted and they make an attempt to get involved, that attempt gets shot down.

I can't even log into the <hell no, I ain't saying>... I'm just going to have a glass of wine and go to bed. Blame LH all you want, blame the alignment of Venus. This community doesn't feel very welcoming anymore. And it's not just this little section. It's everywhere. Conversely, they may realize that they need far far more input from us before trying to create another gallery. And I hope that this is what happens, because there was only one thread where Lighthouse actually asked for input from the fan art community. They couldn't possibly get enough information from one thread to determine what would really make us happy.

I read this line and I instantly wondered if NC is using Curse-Gaming as a test to gauge fan response to building an art-centric site. I have no idea if it is or if this is all they plan to do, I just wondered that when I read the quoted sentence. They did ask for ideas a while ago.
