What kind of missions could you have for this? Well, one person also proposed heroes and villains could team up... To stop the Tarantula Mistress Bikini contest and force Black Scorpion and Wretch to wear something more than a speedo.

To make it even better, unlike most holiday events, we could have plenty signature characters hanging around in a non-canonical manner just enjoying themselves. The Freedom Phalanx Vs. Arachnos... IN VOLLEYBALL!
I love all these! If only we could make it so ourselves.

Beach volleyball emotes would rock. /e spike, /e set, /e bump, /e fistbump, /e dig (or /e dive), and OF COURSE /e highfive, which would send a prompt to a player you had targeted; if the player accepted, the game would line you both up and carry out the emote smoothly. Oh, and we could also have an /e fruitydrink emote!

We need another nuke to speed things up. Sorry Posi, but I'm trimming the field for better targeting purposes. Manti, I've still got my eye on you.

    Summer Event?

As much fun as our Halloween, Winter and Spring events are, checking the calendar reveals a rather large event gap during those warm months of summer. So how about a proposal for a Summer Event? It could be held on the sunny beaches of Cimerora via Pocket D, much like the Ski Chalet. I suppose instead of ski slaloms we could have water-skiing and swimming races, and it'd be a beach cabana instead of a ski chalet. Anyone else have any ideas along this line?

  11. I did well almost all the way through the list, but the field goal comment nearly made me choke on my tea. Spot on.
  12. I've wondered about BaB's status with the Freedom Phalanx myself. There are several instances in-game where he's referred to both as an FP member and as NOT being an FP member, as have been well-documented here. I had reconciled this personally by assuming that while he was considered a member of the Freedom Phalanx (either by having been one actively in the past or as an honorary member), his status as being semi-retired now means that he is no longer an ACTIVE member of the Freedom Phalanx. This frees it up for each person to call him either a FPer or not an FPer as they like.

    Thanks for the heads up!
I have used nothing but Eclipse II keyboards for at least the last three years, and I absolutely love them. The backlighting in three different colors is what drew me to them to being with, but I absolutely adore the feel of the keys as well as the slightly smaller size compared to the G15. I have small hands for my height, and the Eclipse II fits perfectly.

The only issues I've ever had with them are that the paint tends to wear off some of the letters too quickly with heavy use (I used to do a TON of writing/typing), and I tend to wear space bars out on the right since that's where I strike them. Popping the space bar off and applying a little RTV to it fixes that problem quite easily, however.

I find it incredibly funny that you posted this today, because just this afternoon I received two more new Eclipse IIs that I had ordered. I'm stockpiling for whenever they disappear; I'm not a big fan of the Cyborg boards or the Eclipse III.

  14. Much much much better!

I especially love how the energy and life mages have bare scalps again, while the higher-ups have even crazier hats than they did before. Very nice tweaking.
  15. Way to go, NAR! Nice to see an arc we love get recognized by the Devs. It's just, like, so out there!

  17. For Signature characters, my favorites have to be Mirror Spirit, Ms. Liberty, Sister Solaris, Ghost Widow, Praetorian Vanessa DeVore and Cap'n Mako. Why we don't see more of Mirror Spirit I can't fathom; she's a great character, looks amazing and has supercool signature powers. What really makes each of these stand out to me is that everything about their appearance supports their character, with nothing that seems unnecessary or extraneous.

For GMs, the Jade Spider and Hamidon are tops, with Jurassik, Eochai and Jack-in-Irons close behind. What I love about each of these is each of them embodies a concept and visually expresses that concept in a unique way. Jurassik's appearance isn't unique except for his size, but he happens to carry the single most awesome weapon in the game: the car-on-a-stick. I freaking love that thing!

For AVs, Lilitu is stunning, from her appearance to her powers. She's complemented by one of the best maps in the game, too, the CoT fortress. Hequat is terrifingly beautiful in every sense of the phrase, nothing fancy but clearly conveying a sense of raw power. Not exactly an AV, but the Blade Princes are the only enemy that just downright scares me when I see them. I love them and their powers! Fighting them just feels like an epic battle.

Odds and ends that I like include the mantle-with-cape that Statesman, Hero 1 and Imperious all have. I want that. The cameo Praetorian Vanessa sports is one of the single coolest pieces I've seen in this game. The feathered hairclips that Black Swan wore in her original incarnation were amazing. I like the wings she sports now, but otherwise I loved her old appearance. Archon Burkholder's claw hand was a very simple, brilliant way to take an otherwise generic-looking character and instantly make him unique. I'd like to see more of this low-effort, high-impact technique of making an AV or end boss stand out. Sister Solaris's outfit remains my most-wanted costume pieces ever.

What don't I like? Well, I've always hated Sister Psyche's top and bottom pieces. Either would work, but not the two of them together. It just doesn't look right. The gloves, boots, belt and hair are all terrific, though. Statesman's faceplate is annoying. Please make it a full helmet. Valkyrie has one of the most boring looks in the game; Battle Maiden in Praetorian looks significantly better.

I'm sure I'll remember other items later, so I'll update once I remember enough.

From reading Tin Mage's letter, it sounds like he didn't have his magical abilities at the time of his initial construction. He also makes it clear that the heroic personality he developed was also not present at his construction, and he goes on to state that his becoming a hero was a direct result of his choices and his actions over his lifespan, not because of his construction. Based on this, I'd speculate that his origin was Magic, not Technology or Science.

Don't find taking down Nazis, but running essentially the same mission for 75 minutes gets old.

I don't dislike Citadel, but his task force makes me fall asleep at least half the times I play it.
  24. Wow, some really good points and theories here...

The more I think about it, the more I don't think it's going to be Back Alley Brawler. I was originally thinking that BaBs would be the one to die, but now it seems like there are so many clues pointing to him that it's too obvious.

Synapse is high on my list of possibilities. Yes, he's still being used as a character by a dev here currently, but War Witch the dev is still alive and well (and awesome) despite her in-game character being corporeally challenged at the moment (BrandX already pointed this out two pages back, but I felt it worth mentioning again). Synapse has a task force that could really stand some revamping. He has a dev still at Paragon who could sign off on such a character change without seeming ghoulish by targeting a character whose dev counterpart is long-since-departed. And finally, well, he IS a blaster. Setting off a spectacular nuke in the middle of a huge mob despite the high risk of death is sort of what we blasters live for at higher levels.

Truly, an argument can be made both for and against ANY of the Phalanxers going down. It's also very likely that even the devs haven't made a hard-and-fast decision about which one will die at this point, if any of them do indeed die--I immediately noticed that little "could" in the ad as well. It'd be a bit of a cop-out at this point, though, and I don't think our current devs would resort to that.

All this speculation leads me to another question I've had rattling around for a while: if one of the Phalanxers dies or retires, would his/her sidekick be promoted from the "sidekick" Vindicators into the "big league" Freedom Phalanx and thus take over as the task force contact? The vibe I got from the comics is that most (if not all) of the Vindicators are quite content with their team as it as, and anyone moving from the Vindies to the Phalanx would probably NOT be by her/his choice.
