Anyone else having problems Unhiding from Global Chat?
I used the /ghide command, and now there's nothing I can do to Unhide from Global Chat. I've clicked on the Unhide button about a dozen times, but it doesnt seem to work. -

I have been hounded to no end by the Icon tailors regarding my out-of-date fashions, but they seem to never have anything new on their shelves. So I was wondering if the great Statesman could shed any light on the apparent shortage of new and hip fashion in Paragon City. Can we expect to see a veritable flood of new and unique costume options in the near future?

If that's the case, I'd like to see us Scrappers get a damage boost other than criticals then, to keep up with Blasters and Tanks.
Because, from the looks of it, Scrappers are going to get hit pretty hard. -

And thus, an new problem surfaces.
WHY in the world take a Scrapper, when a Tanker can:
A: Survive longer, higher HPs and defenses than Scrapper = less worries for Defenders and other teammates.
B: TANK. They keep the aggro off of the other players easily with the upcoming changes.
C: Have decent damage, not quite as high as Scrappers, supposedly, but it's still decent. Small tradeoff for your team's safety.
Why would anyone want a weak Scrapper with lower damage than a blaster, when they could pick up a Tank, and keep themselves safe?
Criticals? Nah, an occasional chance to do higher damage is nothing compared to a blaster's consistantly higher overall damage. -
Simple, one word.
Marketing.
If they don't create something that doesnt fly with its consumers, then they're doomed to failure.
That's why you see so many fast food commercials, toy commercials, ads, EVERYWHERE.
Companies listen to complaints, and from there, they will adjust the product accordingly.
They also conform to certain trends in the market. I.E, the whole "Low Carb" BS. Just about every top-10 fast food chain has low carb options. And it spans beyond just fast food.
Marketing is the keyword.
If CoH pisses off their market, they have no more income, and no more game.
THAT'S why the listen to their players. -

What I truly see happening, is no different from what happens now.
Powergamers will always powergame.
Like Statesman said, mob XP WILL be increased as long as they get stronger.
What does this mean?
Simple. Tankers will be herding mass groups of Blue/White minions, and depending on the changes to AOEs, Blasters will AOE them to death and/or Scrappers will be able to fit them into their Cone attacks, when herded into such small places.
XP gain? Not too different than it is now.
The only difference is a lot of unknowing players being frustrated because they're so much weaker than they used to be...
If Cryptic can pull this off, more power to them. I know there are powersets that are overpowered, and need to be fixed. -
In order to make Scrappers solo the same 3 even con minions as Controllers, and Defenders, expect these following changes:
Invuln to get nerfed.
Regen to get nerfed.
DA to get fixed...and then nerfed.
SR gets fixed as well...and nerfed after finally becoming the best Scrapper Secondary.
Heh, you think we won't be able to solo Oranges without getting nerfed?
Keep your eye on Tankers too, with their new damage boost. They'll have prime defense, and decent offense, and will (barring a similar thing to purple patch...but then, groups would STILL ignore them as they do +5s, time/XP is inefficient) be able to tank/herd Reds with little difficulties.

Ok I disagree whole heartedly with what you people call heroic!
You don't want heroes you want gods. This aint that game.
And a L40 minion is NOT the same as a L1 minion. A L40 minion should compare similarly to a L40 hero the same way a L1 hero does to a L1 hero. Minion is simply their status in their organization. A L40 anything is still L40 tough, minions just don't have as many special powers, so they "should" be easier compared to an enhanced super hero. But thats doesn't mean you should be "wading through them". If you want to wade through stuff, you should be wading through -2 level minions.
And if you wade through something, you SHOULD NOT be getting great exp for that. Anything you can 1 shot or kill without risk should net you negligable exp at best.
Heroism is about overcoming odds, not stacking them in your favor them showing your *** when you "win". You people make heroism seem tritte and insignificant!

Have you seen the new Outcasts? I'd be willing to bet that at an even level, they're more powerful than some of those level 40s. (barring status affects...and carnies, god I hate carnies)
What we're left with is Rikti, who have heavy melee and Rikti Rifles, and Mentalists with Mezzing and Psionic.
But oh, wait! Lost have those SAME POWERS.
That's right, Rikti are no more powerful than Lost. Their HPs are proportionately the same.
Carnie Minions...every bit as weak as any other minion in the game. Whoopie! they throw a chakra at you, sooo hard. :P
Nemesis, neat AOE attacks. Biggest reason why they're tough? BIG groups.
Yeah, I'd definitely say the new Outcasts trump ALL of these. (Ring of Fire, Fire Imps)
Minions are minions, they're about the same no matter what group they belong to. If there was a level 4 Rikti, yeah, I would probably have no more trouble beating it than I would a level 4 Hellion Slammer. (They hit HARD) -
One quick question Statesman, what about the Defenders and Controllers that ALREADY have a hard time with mobs?

Right, but if you don't get any stronger at all, what's the point of even playing?
I mean, if you're still fighting the same number of mobs over and over again like you were at level 1, that's just not fun.
NOT to mention the fact that not all people are Scrappers/Tankers with sufficient defensive capabilities to take on the stronger mobs.
Making mobs harder is going to cripple just about anyone who isn't.
IMO, even level minions, even 3 of them, should not be anywhere near a Superhero in strength. -

of the closet and how there were immediate nerfs to compensate
for his power levelling. (not referring to the exploit fixes)

For those that bash the OP for "crying about nerfs", you're very wrong, what he's doing is not whining about nerfs. He has a VERY valid point.
I'm not sure if you've Statesman's recent posts, but what he is suggesting is a DRASTIC change to the game!
It's not just nerfing, what he's suggesting is to either tone down everyone that solos well, OR making mobs stronger to the point where it would be challenging for that soloer.
You must understand what this means.
Those that ALREADY complain about how hard it is to solo, and how long it takes them to beat a group of mobs, will find it EVEN HARDER!
Defenders and Controllers will be getting the shaft here!
In addition to them, by making mobs harder, it will also make playing a Blaster VERY difficult. As it stands, a Rikti Chief Soldier can almost 1 shot a Blaster as it is. By making them any stronger, it will become VERY frustrating to play a blaster, let alone a defender.
As for Scrappers, look for Regens and SR's getting one-shotted more often, possible IH nerf. (to maintain 'balance')
Definite Invuln nerf. (overpowered as it is)
Expect mobs accuracy and damage to improve to make the game more challenging.
I for one am sick of people asking to have everything handed to them on a silver platter, but a change this big is gamebreaking. From a marketing standpoint, it is a VERY risky move. -
Have you even read the description for the AV class?
It specifically states that a single AV is the equivilent to a 3-4 hero team.
So don't act surprised when Bobcat hands your *** to you.

IMO, SR should excel at Defense, while still having minor backup defenses like resistance and a heal.
Personally, I think something like Glancing Blow would make PERFECT sense.
There are even some situations in which a heal would be appropriate. (Dull Pain, Second Wind)
Balance is key, and the fact is, SR needs either Resistance, or a heal. Or both. -

Secondly, since when is Resistance "Invuln Only"?
It isnt.
Dark Armor has Resistance, Regen has Resistance(though, only a small amount), the other Tanker powersets have resistance, then there's also Tough, which everyone can take...
So, don't tell us "If we don't want to take damage, take Invuln"
From a balance standpoint, look at this. Invuln has a Heal, Regen has a Heal, Dark Armor has a Heal as well. What does SR have? NOTHING. Giving SR healing or resistance is NOT going to take anything away from Invuln or Regen.
