  1. It just came to mind though that most areas have temp travel powers for sale, not including RV's jetpacks, though fly is the least effective form of travel.... Catching runners would be neigh impossible unless you happened to get some immobs or holds in those extra powers you have, and you run them out of BF's.

    Otherwise, you would still be fairly fine fighting defensively (protecting and capping an object), or moreso, in a group.
  2. I can see if you are a MM, then it's not exactly mandatory. But say you aren't a squishie that needs to run to stay alive, would you consider it possible to pvp effectively with a high run speed? The advantages would be two more power pools..and four powers in total (Assuming most people go SS and SJ) against melee, neither will really be able to kill the other until you start going head to head, at least for a short interval of time.

    I can see a problem against ranged, but with those extra 2-4 powers you're getting, why not grab a patron or epic pool immob, slow or hold power or two?

    The main problem I can think of is reaching your opponent, though with the veteran jump pack, and either the zone or arena travel powers, I don't see you being so crippled at getting around, and that much more effective, all at the cost of a little inf...

  3. Mercs have more aoe and control (Though their nades need to have a much shorter recharge to be any more useful), but as a rule of thumb, the majority of their damage coming from DoT's (Bursts) that's less spike dmg, and not so sexy.

    Thugs have less survivability than mercs (Mercs have S/L and confusion [maybe also fear] resistance) but they do have burst and KB. Though gang war is pretty, it's about as useless as serum (which would be useful if not for the 1000 sec recharge)

    Bots are downright sexy, and ninjas, from what I've heard, can be nasty to deal with.

    And thank YOU orphan81 for actually staying on topic. Seriously. It's kind of sad that 5 or so people post without being able to articulate what they feel was wrong more than " Have you Pvped prior to I13?!?!" and pointing out little things that they feel I was wrong about, that really have nothing in particular to do with what I was actually saying....

    But yeah, this being the first articulated post that actually makes sense, it brings a lot of things to light. Honestly, there has always been Better AT's for pvp than others (Stalkers, Blasters, anything with a pocket emp), but the VEAT's did screw things over hard (or widows rather).

    Then again, this game was never buit with the intention of PvP in mind...as you very well know, it was added later in the game. But sadly, the disparity can be pretty ridiculous between AT's and/or sets....

    I'm not sure which issue it was..Gonna have to look it up, but been playing and PVPing off and on since the council wars (Through the looking glass?) Just came back, leaving after 9, arriving post I13

    Not in i12 per say, though prior yes. And what would being good, or not being good, have to do with the changes to pvp? Does having multiple accounts with millions of inf to spend on IO sets make someone "Good"? Do you have to be the top three in the ladder in test to be "good"? Or do you have to hold your own and be generally accepted by everyone in the pvp zone to be "Good" in order to match the criteria?

    Honestly, It's a public forum and people are entitled to their opinions..but I was hoping people would be able to articulate what they think is wrong better than "Did you pvp before I13?" and somehow expect me to know what they are thinking about it.
  6. So I've been around the forums a bit, checked out the patch notes..and I'm curious. Why all the hate towords I13 pvp?

    Perhaps that l33t regen build that was impossible to take down without a fully raged brute or multi stalker AS (not likely because of your spines AOE constantly running) now suffers from diminishing returns, requiring you to do more than spam the heal button and haste whenever possible to win?

    Maybe your Bots/FF now isn't getting such an obscene defense bonus as before, so instead of simply setting to BG mode and going afk in the middle of warburg, you actually have to actively sit at the computer/laptop and DO something to win now?

    Just kidding folks. Relax, seriously..chill..Whuusahhh..I know some of you up there are getting worked up, but cmon. It's just a game. And it sounds to me like the diminishing returns and all around boosts give players more survivability without being IO'ed to perfection, while making damage somewhat reasonable as well.
    Basically, people can't just spam heals, or holds, or this, that, or the other, because of DR, so people actively have to try a bit more now. One shotting aught to be more difficult with base resistances and defenses...but obscene ammounts of defense (Sr) or resistance (granite) are no longer so immensely overpowered it's just better to wander off and find something else to do.

    But that's my take. So cmon people. Lets hear your complaints, opinions, stories and then some.

    Unfortunately, they have stated before that changing spines would be delving into power customization, which is something so complex and appearently time consuming, that it's something they wont bother with...

    I'd imagine it has something to do with how you actively fling and/or fire spines, those being the powers they would have to change in order to make the spine appearances on your body match those thrown....

    Though they did do something similar for Silver Mantis (she grows and uses metal "spines", throws them too) that was probably a lot of work in itself.
  8. If you think it's so easy to farm elsewhere, do so. We don't want the MA getting cluttered up with various "Go. Hunt. Kill Skulz for badge" maps. Some actual story or entertainment would be far more rewarding, imo.

    Badges aren't supposed to be something you just wait in a spawn and farm the same mob for, over and over and over again. It's something of an accomplishment, of, over the span of so many levels, fighting this group so many times, you've killed X amount! Grats!

    As opposed to "Go farm moar newb".

    The devs will never make things easier, and most certainly never cater towords farmers. At least intentionally.

    I got a few costumes that could use some help, or so i beleive.
    I find them flawless myself, but somehow, lacking. Its quite possibly my preferance for urban camo coloring and miltaristic outfits. But sa they say.

    Suggestions?
    ( i lightened the colors on the originals secondary palette, so the details on the armor stand out more, which accentuates the entire thing i beleive, allso raised uber soldat from black to grey, pics soon)
