Mercs have more aoe and control (Though their nades need to have a much shorter recharge to be any more useful), but as a rule of thumb, the majority of their damage coming from DoT's (Bursts) that's less spike dmg, and not so sexy.
Thugs have less survivability than mercs (Mercs have S/L and confusion [maybe also fear] resistance) but they do have burst and KB. Though gang war is pretty, it's about as useless as serum (which would be useful if not for the 1000 sec recharge)
Bots are downright sexy, and ninjas, from what I've heard, can be nasty to deal with.

I'm so wishy washy, I know. I'm just wondering if mercs/pain will do alright in pvp or if I should go with my bots/pain. I have a thugs/pain who is about 44, but I wanted a second MM for a VG.
