  1. My humble abode:

The Esoteric Singularity base is the result of nearly 4 months total work. We have telepads to 8 zones, plenty of storage, and the first non-combo level of power and control. Total assets come to about 1.9 million total.

Your host/model for this tour is Munition Maid.

  2. How about the "Glowie spawning inside office staircase" bug? Can we see some fixing on that one?

<ul type="square">[*]Submissions must be in the form of ten (12) awesome logos that will be rotated on a weekly basis. If you're just so inspired that you submit more, that's cool, too, but no less![/list]

Okay, I know the mathematical "proofs" that can make ten = 12, but maybe this needs some fixing?

Also, if they're rotating on a weekly basis, wouldn't some multiple of 7 be a little more ideal? Or do rotations slow down on the weekends?
  4. Sounds like a graphics card issue to me.

    Nice transformers avatar, btw.

(...) It seems that the extremely rare recipients from Pools B, C and D are going to be the desireable ones. That is if the devs are true to form. That's OK for C and D. But trying Pool B to story arcs means that there will be a finite supply of those recipies. And the supply is going to be small 40'ish CoH arcs, 12 character per server, X accounts playing on a server. And the number won't be that high as recipies are going to be spread in level range. And to top it off man players have already completed arcs or have out leveled them further limited the supply.

Now you have a very simple Economics 101 situation. Low Supply, High Demands. And if what I surmise about the recipes being highly desireable, demands will be very high. In case people don't get it, Low Supply + High Demand means high prices. I don't want to get into a situation where I'm bidding against a large, active SG with millions or billions of Influece available to its members.

Small, finite supply in a situation like this one is a very, very bad idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Though finite at a particular moment in time, the arc enhancements are not as limited as you may imply. Rather, what's going to happen is that there's going to be a substantial time barrier to acquire them.

    I envision the following:

-Someone has a 50 that they want to slot out with the best possible HO and IO combination, calculated shortly after inventions hit test.
-This someone finds a friend with a 50 in the same boat, and another friend with a lv 46 toon who wants to hit 50.
-A PLing strategy ensues, where one 50 runs a mission with the 46 and an SK'd toon from their friend
-The 46 dings 47 shortly before the PL'd toon reaches level 40, in striking range of the new arc
-The friends switch places, bringing the now-47 toon close to 48, and producing another level 40.
-I9 hits live, the 40's collect those hard-to-get level 40 Story arc awards after running some safeguards/mayhems to get contacts.
    -People complain about PLing
-Time passes. The hardcore 50's get their IO's. People begin progressing naturally through the invention system, and the devs tweak inventions roughly halfway between I9 and I10.
-The 50's complain about their hard-earned inventions being nerfed, even though half of them where actually improved.

Question: Currently, cashing in 6000 bounty in Siren's Call produces the same option menu as completing a story arc. Is there any chance we could have Siren's bounty as an alternative for Pool B recipes?

    [/ QUOTE ]
No PVP solution to a PVE problem, please.

Especially since the people that are going to have the IOs no matter what it takes will be the hardcore PVPers.

I already detest the amount of PVP baiting that is already in the game, and that is the only thing this sort of suggestion will do: make more bait for the hardcore PVPer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not disagreeing with you here.

I've earned a grand total of...2 SO's through SC PVP myself. The similarity in the menu is uncanny - and if there's some sort of code sharing between one menu and the other, there's the off-chance of story arc inventions leaking into the PVP rewards menu.

Probably won't happen - but something to watch out for.

Repeated question, formerly buried on page 3:

    [ QUOTE ]
Will a recipe from one pool transition to a different pool at a higher level?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Elaboration: Story arcs could be the initial, "native" option that provides a recipe. That recipe could then later transition to a repeatable pool for someone who missed it. Finally, level 50 could be made into it's own range, leaving out the story arc pool or by making all available inventions in the arc pool available through the other 3 pools.

The worst case here would be someone at (say) level 46 with all of their arcs previously completed, who would have to make it to 50 to acquire the arc recipes for level 45-49. Painful, but not locked out from the ability to acquire them.

Inventions has been touted as something that shelved level 50's can partake in. Level 50's that have completed all their story arcs already. Please, how can both of those occur? Level 50's can not experience IO's if they are locked out of acheiving specific rewards because they happened to hit the level cap before I9.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Speculation:
-Will a recipe from one pool transition to a different pool at a higher level?
-Will recipes from lower levels become "obsolete" (but not useless), with equal or strictly superior equivalents becomming available at higher levels?

    Unrelated:
-My contact Jenny Firkins (level 30-34, heroside) was indicated as having access to Invention Enhancements when introduced. Having completed her arc and filled the contact meter, there are no Invention Enhancements for sale in her store at this time (no surprise, really). What sort of Invention Enhancements can we expect to purchase from our contacts, and will there be an "Invention Store" where basic Inventions can be bought?
  12. Looks right.

My best advice for big binds (and echoing the guide here) is to try it in /macro first. If /macro works, then just put the exact same into the bind.
  13. Notice that you've got the quotes in different places.

No. The "Jump Pack" from KR is properly called the "Zero-G Pack", and emulates Super Jump.
  15. Per the details of Dr Impossible's reply: Do your respecs just before upgrading your enhancements.

DO NOT SLOT any enhancements, save for those of the level you're upgrading to (Don't even put them in your enhancement tray!). Use the Inf from those to buy a fresh set. Earn the Respec whenever you feel like it, but save that sucker until you need the Inf, if you can get away with it.

For better returns, do this with a full tray of found SOs.

EDIT: Alas, I am beaten to the punch!

I do have a pic of an older incarnation of my base...around the 600K prestige mark

    here

It was a very modest, though functional, arrangement.

I'll see about grabbing some updated shots later tonight. It's changed a lot.
  17. Nice guide. Haven't taken the full ride to 50 yet, but I do have a slightly different take on the set.

First off, as a heavy soloist, I really like Tornado. As long as I take a moment to watch what it's going after, I can drop a Gravity Distortion on it's target and continue blasting everything else in the room. Even if I miss the target, the mez part of Tornado saves me some of the more painful repurcussions..

Singularity is also a good helper with Tornado, as it tends to lend a hand with holding mobs you don't want blown away.

Furthermore, as a soloist, Gravity Distortion field loses a lot of it's appeal. Freezing rain can easily be flung around a corner as it doen't require LoS, and when the enemies start flipping, running in and cycling through them with Gravity Distortion will quickly lock everything down.

Lastly, I think you've overdone the Acc on Crush and Gravity Distortion. These attacks already have a 20% higher-than-the-norm accuracy according to http://www.nofuture.org.uk/cox/
I found that I enjoy these powers far more when I substitute a recharge for the second accuracy.

Lastly, for lots of fun and to get the most out of Singularity and Wormhole, target Wormhole right in the middle of your singularity. Singy's repel then draws the aggro for when your victims come out of their mez...if they last that long.
  18. Clearly this thread was kept alive by consuming the essence of the OP's nuke codes and rep!

Oh, to have that much prestige!. I *love* that teleport room!
(/is still grinding prestige to move from oversight to a proper control room)
  20. I run a Grav/Storm Troller with both Wormhole and TP foe - and one of the neatest uses I've found for both of them is to drop the targets in the middle of my Singularity. The time gained from the repulsion knockback makes setting up a lock completely painless.

Description The Message Computer is capable of storing simple text information for the SG. This computer essentially works as a notepad, allowing the SG to communicate without everyone being online simultaneously. Permissions for the Message Computer are the same as those for storage - being able to place in storage allows an SG member to leave a message. Being able to take away from storage allows an SG member to delete messages.
