I think Warburg seems more appealing because you can fight anyone including people on your side without having to arrange anything, free-for-all action that seems spretty intense.
Also it has nukes! This is a personal thing really, but I do like seeing the effect of me launching those temp powers and it makes me think my efforts were worth it.
As for RV you do feel after a little while nothing you do makes a difference, I mean I do like how everything changes back after a while and agree that it would be horrible if it didn't, but some people may like how quickly it changes back. I'm not sure about that though, that's just me speculating.
As for farmers in RV, *hands up* I was one of them. But I'm not the type that complained when people killed me on sight because I entered the zone knowing the risks that I'd likely be attacked by everything that showed me hostile. So I'd grab my heavy, kill a few turrets, be killed by someone else as I'm rubbish at PvP, then try again.
People who resort to /b Insult/n00b/overpowered/h4x!! when they die in PvP do really put me off a zone though -
Not sure if I'd be any use but I'd like to give it a go on my L50 Corrupter (Dark/Kin) as I've never been anywhere near Hami before.
I feel very silly asking, but how do you go about getting to Hamidon on Villains? It's been a while since I've explored the higher level areas.
I'm on @Kokuei if needed -
Heya all. Well that's pretty much the topic all wrapped up into one subject line. I've been lagging on the game for the last couple of months or so and am in desperate need of some good teaming action to get me back on track.
So if you see a little 18 Elec/Elec Blaster by the name of Electrotherapy, or a 26 Storm/Elec Defender under the name Strike Thunder, please go ahead and invite away. These two toons haven't managed to join a team in what seems like forever and it really seems to have taken a lot of the enjoyment away for some reason. It shouldn't do as I do like to solo, but Strikey don't do soloin' very well
Anyhow, that's enough of me advertising myselfHope to see you all around!

Hey sorry guys, I know I couldn't make two Tuesdays ago but I was also unable to make last Tuesday and completely forgot to tell anyone.
And NOW typically due to reasons beyond my control I'm unable to make them at all. I have a lot of things that I need to do in my free time away from work so for now CoX and a lot of other things have had to be pushed aside.
Sorry for not letting you know sooner but last week was very hectic (not a brilliant excuse I know). Good luck with the badge hunting! -
I'm still good to go (save next Tuesday may be tricky for me). 2 hours out of my Tuesday isn't that bad for me as I could make out that I was getting somewhere at least.
For me Tuesday evening only leads up to the "nothing-day" that is Wednesday so I might as well be doing something productive! -
Hee hee actually I just read that post, I have most of them anyhow
I won't lie though, I've just been invited out by my friends that evening and preferred it as I've been badged-out by the Cap Buster badge this week! -
Very sorry but I'll need to pull out of this one now for personal reasons. Though I'm sure there will be someone else out there who'd happily take my place

I have to say I'm in agreement with the majority of the board here, the basic "rule" is that it is a PvP zone which will allow other players to attack you. Whether they decide to or not is that player's personal decision, the same way that you deciding to enter the zone for EXP is yours.
My main character is a badge-hunter (a very squishy Corrupter at that) built for support and doesn't hold her ground in PvP. The times that I've entered a PvP zone with her I've been fully aware that people may attack me whilst I'm going about my own business but that has never troubled me as I feel that they are entitled to play in this zone as they see fit (aside from griefing), and personally I find no pleasure in trying to bend other peoples' playing habits to my will for my own benefit.
I levelled Seventh Legion from 45-50 in RV with solid playing (and lots of SBs) and for the most of it that was fine and a lot of people let me be. When I was being attacked by another player I'd try to hold my own (or sometimes stand there if I was too mind numbed from playing for so long), but I lost most times. When scouting to see if there were any heavies around and realising that the one I had was taken I was of the "Fair enough" mindset, killing me had freed up my heavy for someone else who wanted it and whilst I did want to pour a lot of my time in RV I saw nothing wrong with someone else using the heavy I'd been hogging.
I've been lucky to pick up heavies from people that have fallen and I wouldn't expect a harsh /tell demanding it back. This doesn't apply to everyone, myself included, but there is an "each to their own" theme in PvP zones (teaming or otherwise) and what is bad for one person may benefit the other greatly. That's the way I feel the zones work and I'm not there to upset the balance by complaining that I don't like the "rules".
I understand your point of frustration, but you also have to be open to understand other people's views as well if you're going to start a debate about respect. It's unfortunate for people who have little time to play and want fast EXP from the zone, but every player is made aware of the risks and more or less agree to them by entering. If you don't agree, don't go into the zone. It's blunt and harsh but very simple.
I'm repeating myself here but RV is a PvP zone, everyone is competing in some form whether or not they are in a team. You'll get people who will let you be and you'll also get people that will attack you on sight, as well as many different types in between. It's the flavours of having so many different people on the internet. Your opinion is as valid as theirs, and the likelihood of them changing their opinion is the same as you changing yours. -
Sure, you can find me at:-
@Kokuei -
I'd be very interested if it's okay for me to join. I'll be on as Seventh Legion, a level 50 Dark/Kinetics Corrupter.
-
I'd be interested in participating with Seventh Legion (Dark/Kin Corrupter), I may also be able to persuade two MMs to join also.
[EDIT]: Xelina (Robotics/FF Master Mind) would also like to join, she has a low level mission of this as well if it helps.
[EDIT EDIT]: Shaolin Master (Ninja/FF Master Mind) would also like to lend a hand. -
Yeah it was great, wish I could've felt what the Heroes did when they saw about 30 Villains at one pillbox!
I had a really good time, got several screenshots from it and was happy I stayed to the end, wish I'd kept it going longer actually as I just realised I need the "Hero Slayer" badge! Ah well, it was a fun time and I saw lots of people who I missed or lost contact with.
Thanks loads Fu for organising it!And also thanks to everyone who was there, you made it really fun. Good work guys!
I took loads of screenies but the lag was so bad that none of them were any good! I picked the best I had of the last people left at the end. Nothing brilliant as unfortunately a lot of people had to go, but nonetheless enjoy!

Gratz Shao. It's been a very long journey but you've made it! A huge mega-gratz from your friends for hitting your first 50, have yourself a drink

22nd, that's still okay. In that case can I also opt for a point in the evening, say 19:00? I'll be seeing a relative that day but can leave earlier if desperately required.
-
Brilliant, so if I tally correctly that's
1 - Promethean. SS/Elec Brute
2 - Seventh Legion - Dark Blast/Kinetics Corrupter
3 - Grieve - Fire/Thermal Corruptor
4 - Xelina - Robotics/Force Field Master Mind
5 - Shaolin Master - Ninja/Force Field Master Mind
6 - Lethal Charge - SS/Elec Brute
7 - Daylight Warrior - Necro/Dark MM
Seven people so far, that's looking really good! -
Sorry also two of my friends would like to join if that's okay, they don't have forum log-ons silly lazy people!
4 - Xelina - Robotics/Force Field Master Mind
5 - Shaolin Master - Ninja/Force Field Master Mind -
I'd be up for that with Seventh Legion, I can probably make 29th okay too depending on the time, so long as it's not getting into the early hours of the morning it should be good. However, I'm useless at PvP in case we get attacked.

Latched onto this thread now because of all the wonderful information it's provided. I recently got my urge to draw again, and I'll be using all of your advice as references!
Thanks a lot, top quality advice you have here, I guess one of the things I forgot was to keep trying -

... Basically ganking is a PvP phenomenon where a team of players all gang up on one or two players, usually out of nowhere with no chance of that player running or fighting back...
[/ QUOTE ]
I see, so how would that be viewed with a Stalker? I suppose if I killed somebody and then kept going specifically for them then it could be classed as the same thing due the the nature of the AT. But I always feel way guilty when I PvP, so I can't see me going to grief one person.
I also hate running away, but by that I mean myself. A lot of my alts are really good at it, but if I'm in PvP and I'm getting severely beaten by another player I won't run as the way I see it they've got me and earnt my kill. Maybe I'm just strange that way.

What build have you gone for?

I have a Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Stalker. No hidden agenda there, I just though MA sounded cool and I love the second roundhouse attack (so watch me squeal in joy as I unlock the later ones). I took SR because I once fought a */SR Scrapper in PvP and couldn't hit them for anything and liked the idea of me being able to do that too.

I'm going to sound like a fool here, but can someone explain ganking? I used to think it was ganging up one one person but I'm not sure...
