Farming for Visionary Badge - anybody interested?

Okay, just picked up Naylor's Firebase Zulu mission on my level 38 Mastermind... that's right, the one with Rularuu in it. IIRC, it used to be the only mission that would let villains get the badge, but isn't there some new missions in the 40+ area nowadays with Rularuu in 'em?

Either way, I just thought I'd see if there's enough interested villains to make it possible to farm the mission for the eyeball-dudes. If there's enough people, I figure it'll run Friday evening. (Unless there's a whole bunch of people who wants to join but can't Friday, or something).

Badge farming? Count me in

Friday evening works fine for me...

I'd be very interested if it's okay for me to join. I'll be on as Seventh Legion, a level 50 Dark/Kinetics Corrupter.

i should be around on friday night and i'll be happy to help farm this - i'm only lvl32 though, but if that's ok then just give me a shout

Me brute likes shiny badges. So plz count him in on friday aswell.

Count me in too, if there's enough space.

Seems like there's at least enough interest to create a boss-spawning team...

Unless anybody protests, we'll meet at 6 PM BST, friday, at Naylor's portal if possible.

Those of you who aren't showing your Global Handles in your sigs, could you please mention them? Makes it much easier to rally the forces.

Very sorry but I'll need to pull out of this one now for personal reasons. Though I'm sure there will be someone else out there who'd happily take my place

You sure those 'personal reasons' have nothing to do with the D.O.A Big Badge Bonanza that was just announced to take place at exactly the same time..? >_>

Hee hee actually I just read that post, I have most of them anyhow

I won't lie though, I've just been invited out by my friends that evening and preferred it as I've been badged-out by the Cap Buster badge this week!

I'll be there on Penny Pink

Although the above bit confuzzles me a bit, given we're not on Summer Time anymore So you mean 6pm UK time then?

Ugh... the whole GMT/BST/Daylight Saving Time thing can really confuse me... but i THINK I'm running late?

Well, that was a short farm. Thanks a bloody lot, now I'm stuck with a Failed Arc on my main complete-everything Villain. You better believe it's gonna be a LONG time before I offer to use one of my missions for farming again...

Morons. The enemies were GREY for chrissake, how the [censored] could you let Rimsey die?!?

Hmm... I can honestly say that I think it wasn't me that drew off Rimsey, as I always trailed behind the main group (which incidentally got me killed when I jumped right into the middle of a dozen Rularuu - my own fault), and by the time I got near the Northern end of the zone, some folks had already been there, so I just turned around again and flew off. The mission failed before I even got back to the main group.

Anyway, I'm sorry it turned out bad for you - but then, I had no idea that a) the escortee was killable (most of the time he isn't), and b) that a failed mission fails the whole story-arc - are you sure that's the case? I never noticed that, and I know I must have failed story-arc missions in the past (like when they had that bug that a knockdown on a fleeing Boss caused insta-fail).

QUITE certain. I've got a 'failure' souvenir called 'The Fall of Mole Point Bravo' instead of 'Last Stand at Mole Point Bravo", and no arc-bonus (which would, incidentally, have been a VERY nice help for getting to 39...)

Some arcs have failable missions that they 'coast' over, but if you fail the last mission of the arc, you fail the arc. This was the last mission of the arc.

Did I mention that I absolutely can't STAND failing missions? That last time I failed an Arc (That was the 'Project: World Wide Red' Malta-arc in CoH), I nearly quit the game altogether? The bit that makes me detest it so intensely is that it's PERMANENT. It's a spot on my carefully-built character that can never be washed off. There's no Retry, no Load, no Continue, no do-over short of raising another character to 38... meaning that even though I take him to 50, he'll never be 'complete', and I'm a hard-bitten perfectionist - that's why I badge-hunt.

Screw this... I'm taking a break from the game. I think I'll pick up Manhunt for the PS2, might help me work off some agressions. See you all in a month, or so...

I am sorry you feel this way Blackdragon.

As my Brute had the same mish, we continued and stayed away from the northern top of the map, most got the badge.
If you want to try it again, just for the badge, contact me to set something up.
