Quote:You don't need the ability to kill everybody. Even the Douwd showed the folly of being able to do that.If some sort of TV supervillain said this I would criticize the writers for no believable nuance.
And why are the kill everybody posts immediately assuming that the powers would involve the ability to kill everybody?
I will settle for a few at a time. Enough to walk into a nest of terrorists and kill everyone there in a few seconds. -
Quote:You can be moral without being soft. To me it is the people who lack the moral fortitude to do what is right and most often needed who look the other way and allow and allow society to degenerate as it has.I always love it when people equate "morality" with being overly soft on the evils of the world. Sorta like when people equate playing violent video games to being a serial killer.
But folks do love their "dude, I'd TOTALLY kill a buncha people for their own good" rants, so don't mind me.
But look on the bright side. We as a society will not last much longer. The signs are there. We will implode into chaos and war which will solve a lot of problems through the death of innocents that would not happen if some of us 'mini tyrants' had powers. -
With great power comes great responsibility.
I think everyone here would agree with that.
Who is that responsibility to?
Thats were we disagree.
You could say to the majority of people. Which majority? The ones you like? The ones you deem as worth saving?
In the end, you are going to find the the great responsibility that your power gave you is to yourself.
To thine own self be true.
I know what I would end up doing and it would involve a lot of death and bloodshed. We as a people and society have sunk too low for it to be any other way. Portions of mankind have become a cancer on the rest of the world and must needs be cut from the flesh to save the whole. It will not be nice. It will not be pretty, but it will have to be done. Being nice and overly civil on crime and criminals and such are part of the reason society is spiraling down the toilet. Too many people looking the other way and letting things get worse as its not their concern have led us to the point where someone will have to make it their concern and we will be reinforced by one sad fact of humanity from the dawn of time.
Violence has solved more problems than peace ever has. -

Some of these are obvious throw-away matches.
4 Jason Bourne vs 13 Beatrix Kiddo
2 James Bond vs 15 Clarice Starling
should be
4 Jason Bourne vs 2 James Bond
13 Beatrix Kiddo vs Clarice Starling -

I am at a loss to explain how awesome that was.

A friend of mine loves dark Sun, but thinks they made too many changes to shoehorn Dark Sun into 4E instead of adapting 4E into Dark Sun.

Quote:Yeah because no male hero has ever had to worry about being a super hero while pleasing his boss so he doesn't get fired in his real identity!....and?, I wasn't debating who wrote Twilight. I was merely saying I hadn't & have not seen it thus can't comment.
I'm not laying the blame soley on the male writers, the blame is at the feet of Seventies culture that was regressed enough to have a mighty Amazon warrior princess reduced to a character who was often found fretting over whether she could juggle her heroic duties and pleasing steve back at the office in her cover identity - it was quite pathetic to behold at times.
A new shows got to move on from all that cliche' nonsense.
Except for Superman
Spiderman
and........... never mind. -
Who saw that coming?
I can't wait to see it. -
Quote:I went into watching that movie with no clue what it was about other than being based on a true story.A Beautiful Mind is another good one (unfortunately 135 minutes). The story also leaves you guessing until near the end (that is, unless you know the biography of John Forbes Nash Jr.).
Total WTF moment! -
Shouldn't the Iron Chef be the guardian of Hell's Kitchen?
-
She looks like a some sort of cold war spy. Hate the hat.

I don't know if this has been asked yet, but is it possible to change the costume UI a little to add a separate menu where you can stick the old items in for people to find?
That way, we get the new stuff without cluttering up the existing menus or making them overly long and no one gets mad something they liked was changed.
I would call that a win/win. -

Quote:I wonder if he is immune to fear and/or his own power. Otherwise it would be a sucky power to have.Yes, yes he was.
But who wouldn't want to be Man-Thing? Those who know fear burn at the touch of Man-Thing! I have a collection of Giant-Size Man-Things, you know.
Spider or something else you are scared of comes out and gives you a fright.
Later on, you touch yourself and BURN!
Or go blind! -
Swamp Thing or Man Thing. Not sure if Man Thing was ever Human though.

With the announced inherent fitness for all characters starting at around level 2, this character will have to be respected to take advantage of it. This will free up at least two slots depending on what they do with swift and hurdle.
I might throw in super jump as I would be focusing my kinetic energy at the ground. -
Thanks for the info.
Yes, I do plan on using ninja run and I did swap out hurdle in my build once I saw how fast I ran with sprint also turned on.
I have every vet reward so I can skip the prereqs for travel powers. I was thinking about taking one due to WP not having slow resist and I have a few of the Winter's Gift Slow Resist IOs.
As for accuracy, according to mids I have
+18% Accuracy
+33.7% To Hit
With FA turned on:
+38% Accuracy
+40% To Hit
How is that not enough? -
Quote:So where would Wonder Woman fit into there since:Actually... from what I can figure out from what is said on the wiki page is...
Top tier = The source is considered the source of the universe's creation.
tier 2 = Emotional and characteristic type beings (The emo spectrum ^.^ and Death)
tier 3 = Each planet with a civilization has a god/devil (abrahamic faith)
tier 4 = Old Gods (pantheon theologies)/New Gods (4th worlders like Darkseid and Orion)
tier 5 = Supers/Metas
tier 6 = regular people
The interesting thing is that a lot of the supers on Earth are from other planets and not actually supers/metas but rather regulars, like Superman and Martian Manhunter.
Now if Superman is the one that created the universe, even in one of those time loop explanations he would likely be the source. So if Superman is the source, even if he is a t6 being he is still the god of the DCU imo... whether he wills it or not he is what he is.
Now... there are certain things that could happen or be interpreted like the miracle machine is actually the source or something like that...
on a side note if Superman is actually the Source wouldn't that be something... as only a small number of people, generally Superman's enemies can go through the source wall which kinda makes you wonder how crazy that would make them to find out that Superman is the source.
edit: Also this would place the Spectre, Angels, and Demons at the same level as the New Gods and Old Gods.
she is a creation,
she is a meta/super human,
she is a goddess with the powers and abilities given to her by several goddesses? -
I am putting together my build for my new scrapper and have heard/read of people being able to max S/L defense with willpower, but I seem unable to do it.
I am also looking for any ideas what I could do better with the build over-all like different sets, slotting or power order.
I have thought about throwing a travel power in it if I could fit it in the lower levels so that I could slot the Winter's Gift Slow Resist IO since WP seems to lack defense against slows and such.
This is the build as it stands now.

Ideas? -
They are about even with other set's attacks or just a tad shorter due to the actual attack animation being nearly instant. Its the wind-up that throws people off.
-
Kinetic/something is the problem that is keeping me from logging into the game so I feel your pain.
-
Out of the three; /EL, /fire and /WP, which would be the best IO wise?
I know some sets are easier to slot up and get the most out of.
Which bonuses for each set would I be looking for?
I know I would want to finish out /EL and soft cap the S/L resists, but should I shoot for any defense or would it not make enough of a difference. That sort of thing. -
Quote:I might have one. I know I did have a level 10 or so one, but may have used it. I will have to check my characters to see if someone is still holding it.That costume actually looks like it would mesh well with /Fire =D
...okay, no more bias. Seriously though, if you have a Steadfast Protection /Fire seems to be the set to go. The new Burn, although not nearly as good as Shield Charge, gets in there earlier so you can have a nice one-two AoE punch with Burst and Burn (I even like the way that they sound together) without having to go through 34 levels of only one AoE attack. I'm at 16 now (only been playing casually and it's hard to level when there are no Fateweavers =/) and once I hit 24 and slot my ludicrously high level Steadfast I should be on easy street. Knockback has actually proven to be not that much of an issue, as you identify really quickly what mobs KB and pop a few purples before you face them (unless they're destroyers, then you just kill em'). But I've been grinding solo, so on teams it might be different.
How is /fire on the not dying part? What about endurance?
