  1. In case anyone is interested i shall be doing the next Ghost Widow arc when kitty hits 45. If anyone else has the same arc (the one after you betray her) and wants to clear it simultaneously (that only took 3 attempts to spell) then let me know.

  2. I have had mine slotted with it in the past, pre-i7 so i guess it could have changed. Since info about it is so scarce it would certainly indicate that even if there is an effect it's pretty minimal, so i don't think i will slot for it.

    I think it's mainly a perception thing, it's more noticable when you swing and miss something right in front of you than blasting at it at range. Also groups like CoT have very nasty PBAoE acc debuffs which i find really hurt my scrapper. I tend to 2 slot for acc on melee toons without an inherant acc bonus (like MA) or other buffs (like rage). Also what primary are you using? I always used to think my dark melee scrapper had worse acc than any of my other toons, but it was probably because it's just painful watching shadow maul miss
  6. Take it you mean acc debuff rather than def decrease? If those numbers are right then i agree, definately do not bother to slot it. However, it still does it's main job, as a perception debuff, costs far less than stealth and has a very similar effect and prevents unwanted agro, so i still say take it and use it.

    I think it's about what you expect it to do, it's a tad misleading to tell people a power does -acc when it's such a piddling number. Those without access to any actual numbers may overslot it expecting it to increase thier defence noticably (but then this is a problem with powers throughout the game). As i see it it's a handy 1 slot power that you can fire and forget, never a bad thing, just dont pick up smoke expecting darkest night
  7. Soul drain finally makes my nuke worth having, it's quite nice. best saved for nice large groups/herds. It's main drawback is a very small melee radius and as i seem to not be hitting that much with it all the time it may need a second acc. My planner does say it has an inherant +20% acc, but i'm not sure whether to beleive it, it seems a bit iffy.
  8. Can definately slot it with acc debuff. My planner doesn't list it atm but i've seen a description sometime before saying it reduces accuracy. Not sure if this is still true, and if so if it's worth slotting for
  9. Was wondering if anyone has the numbers for the -acc debuff in terrify. My proposed respec slotting is acc, 2 recharge, 2 tohit debuff. I dont plan on fear duration as it's already perma and things tend to die before it wears off anyway (i currently run at just 2 acc 2 recharge). If the numbers are really pants i'll leave it as is and save the slots, but being able to avoid some of the retaliation would be nice.
  10. Those numbers sound about right, so i suppose if you have nothing better to slot then give it 3 -acc. I have tried it on my fire troller and recently specced the slots back out as they are more useful elsewhere. Having played and planned several dominators i know how incredibly tight dom builds are for slots. As they suffer from reduced control and damage both sides need a lot of slots to really shine.

    For me smoke has always been handy as a perception debuff, it lets me get in range of my primary controls like flashfire without risking agro first (and also making sure the imps grab any agro before i do). The -acc after that is mostly pointless as they should all be mezzed. I understand this is slightly different for doms as the holds dont last as long, but then you should be finishing them off faster too.

    One of the best uses for smoke is to pull a single nme or group without agroing others. In one of those large lab maps with groups standing very close it can be a real lifesaver to avoid unwanted agro, kind of in the same way a def/corr with SF does.

    I'd say slot it ONLY if you can spare the slots (i.e. can get your holds and good attacks 6-slotted) but i wouldn't sacrifice the effectiveness of another power for it.

    P.S. For PvP i could see more use in slots, 2 acc and maybe some -acc could well make a difference i suppose.

  12. They USED to take us 25 mins, but the vine tree wotsit has been hit with the AV regen buff apparently, so might not be so easy now. Luckily i have a lvl 27 rad/rad corrupter in my alt box if she's needed (to replace my previously lvl 38 rad defender - NOT made as a fotm).

  15. I am taking fly on my SS/Elec brute as it means i can get air supe without wasting another power. I have heard that grounded is being "fixed" - no idea what this means but still doubt it will work in the air (name would be a tad misleading then).

    Either way it doesn't matter coz you wont be fighting while flying, and if you are you get KB res anyway (little flying flip). How many times have you been travelling with a flying character and thought "Damn this pesky knockback!"
  16. First thing i can see is a little wacky slotting tbh, but then dark is a tricky set first time round, all the powers do several things and can be slotted for such. Take freeze ray not BFR. Frost breath is very dissappointing tbh, ice is all about massive ST damage, but ice storm and tar patch will give you nice AoE damage, esp as it's now buffable (does more than BIB). Here's how i would do it;

    With /dark you wont be running leadership with your other toggles if you want to have any endurance left to do anything useful. I come into some endurance issues with Kitty running CJ, Acro and SF, this is without the epic sheild and with a less end intensive set than ice.

    If you wanted to go more PvP later on i'd swap out TP for jumping, lose icestorm and put 2 acc in place of a recharge in the attacks.

    Earlier on DN is FAR more useful than SF so i've swapped them around. Elec epic will help with the endurance issues and refil you post-nuke.

    If you wanted to go more support based we can swap around power lvls to take the secondaries earlier and put some blasts off, though i wouldn't recommend it.

    Ah i get this too, sometimes i go upstairs to look for something only to forget what the hell it is by the time i get there....just a tragic consequence of old age i'm afraid. You really don't need to get the leaping pool as a kin, just pick up hover (whether you fly or not) slot it 3 speed and slot siphon speed 2 acc, 3 rec, 1 slow (increases movement speed) and enjoy full axis unsupressed movement thats as fast as fly with a couple of siphons. You wont get knocked back and it's cheaper than acro and uses less powers. People will say acro is good for he hold res but...honestly, it really isn't. The only insps a kin should need are BFs anyway

  20. It's a particular problem with grandville dark. I think it's all the arachnos metal textures all over the place. Sometimes it's really unbearable, others it's not so bad. In a way i'm a bit annoyed that they applied some of the gfx from CoV to CoH in i7. CoH was where i went to escape lag, and it's still much better, but i notice it being more laggy than b4
  21. First thing i can think of is try getting the ST immob (crush?) for damage instead of air supe. This may cause power slot issues if air supe is a travel prereq though i guess. I actually think crush comes out above propel for dps as it's so fast.

    That way you can keep hurricane up for protection (try just "tappping" the nme with the edge of the hurricane to debuff them) and use ranged attacks for damage. As a controller though things like red totems and other bosses will always be a problem damage wise until epics.
  22. Seems ok so far, though there are some bugs with travel powers atm that are making me a tad nauseous, like the screen jerking when flying and an annoying camera zoomy thing when SJing.

    Grandville is very...tron i supppose. Very dangerous, everything seems to see through stealth. Also a total lagfest, it's all arachnos shiny metal stuff, and getting around in there has been a bit of a pain so far. Also...mayhem missions on villainous methinks, they are bloody impossible with a large team on a higher setting.

    Also once you choose your patron you are locked into it, not even a respec can change em....so suggest everyone thinks very carefully before comitting.

    Everything sounds good with nice buffs to SR, TA, dominators and MMs. They changed the Croatoa TF so it only gives one SO though at the end
