  1. As soon as I dig up the spreadsheets, I'll post the results of hundreds of random rolls from a similar experiment during the spring/summer of 2009.

Fire/Dark is pretty darn good...even in the 20s: you got your cone fear, To Hit and Damage debuffs, teh H34ls and a bit of stealth.

    I highly recommend it!

That's pretty good. Speeders, I assume?

Essentially, I do two arcs back-to-back that get me about 60 merits in two hours (depending upon where the mish doors are), which I'm happy with, but I'm always looking for better numbers, of course.

My challenge is that other than weekends, I can only put in 1.5 - 2.5 hours per session these days.
  5. Yup, I agree with both of you. My assumption may not be a good one...trying to predict human behavior and all.

I guess there are folks that...
1.) wish to level as fast as possible
2.) wish to gain merits as fast as possible
3.) wish to strike a balance between 1 and 2

Right now, my Main-of-the-Month's goal (45 Fire/MM blaster) is to earn at least 200 merits per week via Ouro.

However, my 41 scrapper and 45 controller are interested in getting to 50 asap (well, 47 actually...for set IOs). My Fire/Dark corruptor (once I get back to playing her) will go with a balanced approach.

Seconded. Consequently, don't be surprised if the rewards are scaled down as a result (assuming more people are running arcs at the lower settings).
  7. I got it late last week.
Had forgotten all about the 66 badge, but the benies were a nice surprise.
I believe my RL response was "Ha! Nice!"

How many merits is Posi? How many people to start? I have access to 4 accounts, 3 are mine. I haven't done it but once and it was like 3 years ago.
Only 3 to start Posi. You can do Synapse with 4. If you have a Rad in there then you should be able to complete it with a bit of luck and skill. I did it single box with 2 skilled players: Plant/Storm, a scrapper and my WS.

    Posi is 64.
    Synapse is 57.

Think I'm gonna start a Posi tonight.

Got my eye on Sister also.
Rad / Emp / Fire-MM trio is worth a try.
  11. Ok...ok. I'll toss one out there.
Well, it's really just an agreement...someone else already mentioned it upthread.

Freaklympics is pretty in the time/reward department (keeping in mind my caveats upthread on dmg type vs. critter resistance)...but the first mission is painfully tedious!

After that, it goes pretty fast.

Also, Return to Vampyri Mountain is a good time/reward arc too.
  12. I would definitely agree with running a Posi for merits. I did that awhile back and it was just as fun as it was frustrating lol.

I used to run a WS / Emp / Kin trio, but the NegNrg resist of CoT was annoying the heck out of me. That was with my old PC too (verrrry slow load times), but I don't think I ever broke 3 hrs per run (even with all vet powers and Super Speed + stealth).

I plan on trying Posi again with a Fire-Ment / Emp duo. Once I respec my first Fire-MM build, yet again

Via the new exemp rule, the Posi TF will "see" my build at level 20, correct? And if I build Stamina in at level 20, would a level 50 PShifter +End proc work (a la the Stealth proc)?

    Nice try, Posi.

Seriously though, I won't ever have much to say about that b/c if I find a good arc or three, I don't want a high-volume of speed/optimal runs bringing down the merit rewards.

Having said that, among other things, it will vary based upon how your toon is built (SS, stealth, etc), what short-cut tool you have (Pocket D tp, Vet reward Base tp, etc) and your dmg output vs. critter resistance, etc. For example...

    * Ice blaster vs. Freaks= not ideal they resist Cold
    * WS, DM scrap or Psy blaster vs. Banished = not ideal, they resist NegNrg and Psi
    * Nrg/Nrg blaster vs. Freaks = ideal, they are vulnerable to Nrg
    * SR or Shields vs. Tsoo = better than a Res based toon b/c the Tsoo's debuffs won't hit ya

Good ITF teams speed-running for merits would be 30 minutes or less. Of course, the advantage of an arc is no diminishing returns.
I consider an extreme-speed ITF as a statistical outlier.
Not WRT volume, but WRT the % of subs that run them.

    9+ non-continuous hours = a weekend of playtime for many people (?)

So an LotG each weekend for however long you can stand running the same arc.

Edit (quoting myself heh): And if you are reeeeeally motivated then take a week and each weekend on both sides of it. If all you did was that arc then that's 3 LotGs in 10 days or so for 300-350M on today's market (?) That's an abundance of funds for building serious market wealth.

It was amazingly easy as i think i only had to tap reconstruction once during the whole thing. Took me 1.5 hours but it shouldn't the next time as i know what i gotta do on the mishes next time. Gave like 34 merits.

I think this is gonna be my new fave past time, when not on the BM map. lol. May make a fire/fire scrapper and see which Oro mishes i could blaze thru with more AoE than my Kat.

Any other good ones blueside to try? Mainly for speed, not xp.
90 mins for 34 merits is pretty good. Using a reasonable benchmark...very good ITF teams will take 75-80 mins to get 28 merits.

I'm still looking at certain arc ranges, but if you make that fire/fire scrapper then consider the arcs with the Banished Pantheon as the main critter group. Their minions don't resist fire, energy nor lethal too well. Maybe the LTs too...I'm not sure, but if it's just the minions, every little advantage helps

  18. Been a bit bored chasing Purples, but the +2/x8 is great for prestige.

So I just switched back to Ouro (having forgotten how fun and profitable it could be).

I've begun retooling builds for Ouro/Merit optimization at level 30 and 40.

This weekend I should have a 2nd build on my Fire/MM with (IIRC) ~20% +rech, a Numina unique, stealth IO, 12% Recovery and some nice additional +Regen on top of Drain Psyche. She'll have Super speed along with both Aim and Build-up (Concentration).

This toon will have an Emp in tow (with all Emp powers!) and one of my 50's (with TP) standing at the arc contact. For the last mish of the arc I'll bring the TPer into the mish for some quick-fast, triple-merit goodness!
  19. I dualbox/triplebox with a kin...SS/WP, Fire/SD and SS/FA are all great!
  20. I have freed up the names KICKUDUDE and S U P E R G U Y on Freedom & Virtue.
  21. Cool. Thanks to you both!

Across all of my Freedom red marketeers, I think I'm only short a few Gaze recipes.

    Overwhelming offense ftw?

I'm working up my 42 to have ridculous +rech as well (e.g., Sleet stacking for 8-9 secs and 4 secs short of perma Benumb, etc).

WRT to purples, those who care to leverage their multiple accounts and adopt an aggressive playstyle so as to significantly increase "opportunities [for purple drops] per hour" do indeed benefit.
  24. Thanks, Archie!

I'll send you Sept 30th (all data was post-patch) and Oct 1st (got a AA purple this morning before work) when I end my play session tonight.

Going forward, I'll send you whatever "solo @ level 50" logs I have on Mon and Thu nights.
