Pardon the resolution
30 rolls from a level 50 toon rolling in the 35-39 range
* Junk (stuff I rarely slot and/or has weak boni): 18
* Marginal (not great, but not worthless either; plentiful or cheap or with good boni): 8
* High-Value (whether always like Touch of Death Dam/End or sometimes like Decimation Acc/Dam): 4
Note: I'm crafting and storing all 8 marginal drops and all 4 high-value drops for alts.
I'll post the 20 or so rolls left this weekend.
Edit: Sub'd "marginal" for "nominal". The latter has been flying around the office for the last two weeks and is clearly burned into my brain -
Quote:Yup. I do the same on both Virtue and Freedom.Thanks. That is a good idea. I had gotten to the point when on Virtue (which seems to experience market lag beyond belief while the other servers don't have the same problem) to sit on the sold/bought when trying to claim my inf/items.
It's the only sure way that I can tell that something has moved.
I would reaaaaally love some kind of flashing tab feature.
Probably sounds goofy, but the increment or decrement of the tab number (e.g., going from "BIDDING(4)" to "BIDDING(5)") just doesn't catch my eye. -
Bah! Correction: Persistent bids still exist.
I didn't check all of the conditions earlier. -
Quote:The number "Bidding" and "For Sale" are shown in the lower/tabbed section now also. They've fixed at least one complaint- as of this morning, "Other" shows up first in the list for recipes and enhancements.
Thanks Devs for making a little progress toward a friendlier U/I -
I'm a big fan of bronze rolls. Have been since the AE went live.
I would agree with the 35-39 range as well. The profitability is definitely there and for those with bases, even "nominal" recipes are good to craft and store for future builds.
I'm about to roll a few thousand tickets this week in order to re-stock my red side base. I'll provide a count of High Value (e.g., Numina, LotG, Kinetic Combat), "nominal" and junk receipes when I'm done. Just another datapoint to go along with what Nethergoat has shared. -
I need to check some of the comments with the U/I up in front of me, but I've made some adds and edits after reading through all of the posts. I still may have misrepresented some things, so let me know.
1. The most recent transaction(s) in-progress or most recent items bought or sold should be auto-magically placed at the top of the appropriate tab (to include the ALL tab as well) and not the bottom like the current design. (High)
2. Once an item is expanded in the top-right pane (upon being "found" or "searched", for example), the cursor should default to the "bid price" window. Alternative: If the previous is not feasible that the 1st TAB keystroke should move/default the cursor to the "bid price" window. (High)
2a. The TAB key should recursively advance the cursor from "bid price" to "quantity" (High)
3. The ESC should clear the field in which the cursor is active (High)
4. Please bring back the "transaction state" colors. Specifically, on the ALL tab, shade each item/row in the following manner: Bright Green for BOUGHT, Medium Green for BIDDING, Bright Blue for SOLD and Medium Blue for SELLING. Grey for STORED is wai. Color each tab name accordingly, as well. [See Smurphy's posted graphic upthread] (High)
5. Under "Recipes", move the "Other" category back to the top of the listing as opposed to alphabetizing it within the entire recipes listing as it is now. The idea here is that the most frequently transacted recipes (i.e., Commons) should be quickly and easily accessible. (High)
6. Implement a "classic" market U/I option if at all possible. (High)
7. Let us opt-out of persistent bids or remove persistent bids all together. (High)
8. Selecting a category in the left hand tree should narrow down search results accordingly. Subsequently, the search bar/field should be cleared and cursor placement should default at the left justify position therein.(High)
9. (Deleted - Duplicative of #8)
10. (Added to #8)
11. Implement persistent market U/I dimensions (High)
11a. Implement the ability to minimize/contract an item in inventory after you have maximized/expanded that item. Currently, the initial left-click on an item maximizes/expands it, but subsequent clicks do not minimize/contract the item. (High)
11b. Let the user opt-out of receiving the "salvage warning" notification for common recipes. That is, the user would still receive the warning for all other recipes unless the user opts-out of the warning completely. (High)
12. Implement "INF marks" at which we would receive transaction fee warning notifications. E.g., >=100K, >=500K, >=1M and >=5M. A discrete slide bar (like the one already used in the main U/I for changing font size) could be used for this.
13. When placing bids, there is no obvious/intuitive feedback that your bid has been placed. Alternative: Have the item flash Medium Green (to imply "Bidding" like in #4 above) two or three times before it auto-magically "slides over" to the actual BIDDING tab. Additional Alternative: Have the word BIDDING flash (in its current light yellow hue) two or three times as well.
13a. Please implement the same design as above for the "Selling"/SELLING process using the Medium Blue color.
14. (Now 11b)
15. (Now 11a)
16. Implement the ability to search for "For Sale OR Bidding" at the same time without using the FIND button workaround. Note: This could be a bug.
17. Add "up and down" arrows for the "quantity box". This is for bids.
18. The user should be able to color customize her/his market U/I just like the user can do currently with the "main" U/I.
19. Implement the classic U/I "string search" functionality
20. Give Temp recipes their own tab with the left-pane expansion and add level ranges to their descriptions.
21. There should also be no "invisible" search settings. For example, if you search a specific recipe, then edit the search bar and search again, you will still be searching recipes only, even though you just entered text, so there must be some kind of invisible recipes setting. This would apply for all types of items. -
Quote:My apologies, if I've missed that one. Haven't read closely yet past #160 either. Are you referring to a description of what the item does and/or the damage, end cost, recharge etc.? Something else? You didn't include the ability to right click and get info, which can be a very big deal with some of the items, especially temp powers.
Quote:I would also propose that clicking the tree SHOULD NOT refine a search to a specific type as it did before, but rather there should be a dropmenu that lets you specify what type you want to search. It would be more consistent with the level and rarity search options.
Quote:There should also be no "invisible" search settings. For example, if you search a specific item, like a recipe, then edit the search bar and search again, you will still be searching recipes only, even though you just entered text, so there must be some kind of invisible recipes setting.
Quote:What do you mean by #10? -
Quote:It seems that there's a consensus on this being a bug, since the info is indeed displayed when searching as you have mentioned.I didn't see this on Kitteh's list so thought I'd better check. When I click on an item under any of my tabs, it always shows zero selling, zero bidding. I've been assuming that everybody has this same problem, which forces one to search for the item up top to find out the number of bidders and sellers.
-
Quote:FWIW, I'll add it as #2a.Yep, I agree there is definitely a large degree of "Where The Shinies Are" to the market.
Not the "Wild" shinies per se = those are the ones you find street-sweeping or running radio/newspaper missions...
And while I'm logged in, I have to say that, using the market these days the most annoying thing to me is having to click in the quantity box
Personally, I'd put this either at - or very near the top of the "fix-it list". -
I tried to consolidate the feedback, but I've only made it through post 160 out of 243 so far. I figured I'd note what seems to be the high value stuff based upon repeated feedback an/or "big-wins". Any Dev would re-shuffle the list based upon level-of-effort and other priorities anyway.
The list is not in order, but the high value stuff is up top. I hope that I have accurately represented the things that I'm not completely sure about without having the market U/I open in front of me.

Major FAIL with the formatting lol...reposting
-
I would like this too. Even if it's not dynamic (like a slide bar), but rather we could select discrete values like 100K, 500K, 1M or 5M (via radio buttons, for example), I'd be happy with such a feature.

Quote:^ YessssssssAlso, please make it that when I click on something in my postings and it expands, clicking on it again will close it
Also, are we currently able to sort each tab?
My apologies, if I'm not seeing that option.
IIRC, for each tab on my UI, the latest item (that has just been sold or bid upon, for example) appears at the bottom of the "Sold" or "Bid" tab, which seems counter-intuitve. I would like the option of "forcing" my most recent transactions to appear at the top of each tab. -
Quote:This would be nice...and as an extension, not only color code each entry or item on the ALL tab according to "market state", but also the tab's text could be likewise colored (SOLD, BOUGHT, STORED etc.). Much more "neurological resonate" ...or something like thatI miss the color coding: A grey item meant it was stored. Green meant an outstanding bid. Bright green meant bought. Blue meant an item was posted for sale. Bright blue meant sold.
Sure, there are tabs that sort stuff but I like to be able to take it all in at a glance. I want to use the All tab to see how everything on my character is doing. Using the various tabs doesn't let me simultaneously monitor how multiple bids, stores, and sales are doing. -
Quote:Oh man. I don't think I had any up, but I will definitely give it back to ya if it's me.Enjoy! Isn't being too quick on the keyboard a wonderful thing?
Also, for this issue, I think (actually, I HOPE lol) ridiculous bids on level 50+ set IOs still functions as a method to prevent one from accidently overbidding. -
Quote:Salvo is the only Range Damage offered at 10-14, so flushing more into the system (to cover the high number of build combos with access to Range Damage powers) would make sense...even if folks don't actually slot them.
3,7x Salvo: Acc/Dam/End/Range (10-14)
3,6x Salvo: Acc/Dam/End/Range (15-19)
2,5x Salvo: Acc/Dam/End/Range (20-24)
1,8x Salvo: Acc/Dam/End/Range (25-29)
This recipe is interesting because it starts at almost 4x and goes down to 2x gradually, suggesting a 4x-4x-2x-2x progression. And it's not even a proc that becomes more valuable at lower levels.
AFAIK, the original Pool C table was not weighed at all (except for maybe uniques and LotGs), so giving a relatively "unworthy" recipe such a heavy weight could have been the only reasonable alternative to adding another Range Damage recipe set at this range and/or reshuffling the 10-14 range itself. -
Quote:Certainly. I would expect this to play out across each range for many, if not all recipes.Another interesting part of this story is not just the weighting but also the number of other recipes in that particular group.
The 10-14 level Zephyr has a 1 in 24 chance of appearing, while the 25-29 Zephyr has a 1 in 75 chance of appearing (if you were to look at it as 2x as opposed to 1.7x). If you were looking to roll and get a Zephyr knockback recipe, the 10-14 is 3 times more likely to appear than in 25-29. -
Quote:If you are referring to the combat attributes then the PS +End proc is not indicated there nor is it thrown in with the other recovery bonuses.Hey all, I just slotted a Performance Shifter, Chance for +end in my Peacebringer (so I could get a boost using the two non-human forms), but the bonus doesn't seem to show up. I'm used to seeing the Numina's unique listed in the numbers as the Numina's proc, but I don't see anything for the Performance Shifter. Is that proc number just thrown in with the other recovery bonuses? Seems a little odd, if so, but I'd like to know it's actually working.
I thought all those procs worked automatically in the auto powers, so hopefully I wasn't remembering wrong there. -
Quote:I 2nd this for the most part...adding that I think it's on a 10 second cycle, but I cannot recall the proc%.in the case of this proc, it doesnt constantly activate like the numi or miracle procs
the performance shifter gives a chance to fire i think every couple seconds when slotted into an auto power.
if you slot it into stamina and watch your combat window it should randomly pop up with a "you were granted 10 endurance from performance shifter:chance for +endurance"
i dont remember what the chance is for it to activate (i think its around 20-25%), so if you slot it into stamina it activates quite frequently.
Combat window: check
Combat window text: check (you're toon's name is included in the message) -
Quote:Again, posted results on google's site...
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...0eE40UVE&hl=en
It's on the 2nd sheet (15-19)
Interesting, two recipes I only got 1 of them both....heh.
Great! Thanks in advance! That's a good chunk and it's probably good to have more rolls per range as we go along, since more recipes are offered.
(I think you need to "go public" with the permissioning)
EDIT: Nevermind. Got the link from above -
Thanks Hell_Jumper!
Caveat: I've analyzed 500 rolls in the 10-14 range, but only 320 rolls (170 from Hell_Jumper and 150 of my own) in the 15-19 range so far.
Preliminary Observation: There appears to be a different distribution pattern between 10-14 and 15-19.
10-14 range. 33 total recipes available in this range.
The five most frequent drops (recipes available per type):
Hold 16.2% (4)
Slow 8.8% (2)
PBAoE 7.4% (2)
Pet[r] 7.0% (2)
Melee 6.8% (1)
15-19 range. 45 total recipes available in this range.
The five most frequent drops (recipes available per type):
Defense 12.2% (3)
Resist 10.9% (3)
Hold 10.0% (4)
Melee 10.0% (2)
Range 9.7% (2)
Also, from looking at the data so far, most drop types appear to be "artificially" adjusted up and down by the Devs, which would make sense (based upon demand and usage) and IIRC is in-line with Posi's? Synapse's? statement about the merit system design changes from early 2009. -
There are 2 Immob recipes in the 10-14 range for a total of 33 (as per Wiki).
I only accounted for 1 above.
Not a big deal, since Immob has a low distribution across the board, but I've accounted for the change here locally in my overall tracker and will incorporate it in following posts. -
Quote:Excuse me for quoting myself, but if this is true then I think it stands to reason that a level 50 should be able to increase her chances (although perhaps only slightly) of getting a particular recipe within a drop type by choosing a specific range in which to roll.So comparing the 1021 rolls across all ranges (except 15-19) with 500 rolls in the 10-14 range, it seems likely that each drop range has its own "drop type" weight.
EDIT: Clarity -
The drop distributions above (in my post) are based on rolls across ALL of the ranges (except 15-19 for some strange reason) and which were as follows:
10-14; 20
15-19; 0
20-24; 128
25-29; 110
30-34; 152
35-39; 187
40-45; 273
46-50; 151
Total - 1021 rolls
-------
Looking at Energizing_Ion's data upthread (10-14 range only) we have...
[Type / Drop % / Number of recipes this range according to Wiki]
Hold / 16.2% / 4 (Basilik was 46.9% of all holds; Neuronic was 53.1% of all holds)
Slow / 8.8% / 2
PBAoE / 7.4% / 2
Pet [R] / 7% / 2
Melee / 6.8% / 1
Resist / 6.4% / 1
Acc DefDbf / 6.2% / 2
Defense / 5.6% / 1
Stun / 5.2% / 2
Travel / 4.6% / 1
Heal / 4.6% / 1
Range / 3.8% / 1
Sleep / 3.2% / 2
Fear / 3% / 2
Acc THD / 2.8% / 2
Acc Heal / 2.6% / 2
Confuse / 2.2% / 2
Pet / 1.8% / 1
Immob / 1.8% / 1
So comparing the 1021 rolls across all ranges (except 15-19) with 500 rolls in the 10-14 range, it seems likely that each drop range has its own "drop type" weight. -
1021 random rolls from March of 2009.
Test Server.
The rollers were many (Hell Jumper, Uber Guy, MJB, OfficeMan, EarthWyrm, Huron, Eric Hough and Victorious).
I did the compiling.
This only shows the distribution per drop type (Heal, Melee, Defense, etc.), so this is not quite in-step with what TopDoc spoke to originally. Use/refer to it as you wish.
Drop Type // Number Dropped // % of the Total Dropped
Code:General note: As I mentioned back then, in some cases, I suspect that there is a weight within each drop type.Range 120 11.75 Melee 103 10.09 Resist 90 8.81 Defense 87 8.52 PBAoE 81 7.93 Hold 75 7.35 Heal 48 4.70 Slow 46 4.51 TAoE 42 4.11 Stun 36 3.53 "The remaining 21 other types" 293 28.7
For example, in the 20-24 range, only the Regen Tissue triple and Miracle unique are offered. If the weight was an even 50% percent then just as many Miracle uniques would be generated as Regen Tissue triples, but my testing didn't show this at all.
I wish I could find that distribution from my files, but no luck so far. I can't remember the number of samples/drops either.
I will test the 20-24 range extensively here shortly for another look.
