Quote:And you don't even have any clue what involvement he had with the killing of CoX. You simple assume. Your entire opinion is shaped upon assumptions without any evidence to back any of them up. You've decided that he must be like X, so anything you see you twist in such a way to try to make it evidence of him being like X.Its not the only reason, but it does fit my narrow and shrinking view of the person.
If you want to be a crazy conspiracy theorist (and labeled as such), such a mindset works perfectly fine. But not so much if you want to actually get anything done... which I'm doubting more and more. -

So that's the only possible reason you believe someone could possibly chose that as their email address? Or is it that you already believe that of him, so you just choose to try to fit the world to that opinion you already hold?
-
No. Those sorts of things are generally never discussed out in the open while any sort of negotiations are actively going on.

Assuming they're not secretly meaning the Aion BS thing of being able to make one piece of gear keep its stats but look like another piece... that's awesome
Not because I'll play it, but that (maybe) the industry is finally waking up and realizing that making look tightly (or loosely) bound to your stats is insane. Unlocking items is fine, but not tying it to your stats or making you jump through silly hoops.
I suddenly have slightly more faith in the world -
If you're just wanting to upload them to the internet to share in that thread, just use imgur or another service like that. No account necessary (which is why I've never bothered with Photobucket
).
As a side note, you appear to be using the Photobucket bulk uploader, which uses Java... you should update Java in your browser (there's been a number of horrible security holes), and, if anything, disable it, because Oracle has been utterly failing lately. -

Quote:If you're going to make a big deal about the art style (literally half the text in the email was: "based on the evocative art style of Hyung-Tae Kim"), and then the trailer for the game makes it just look like yet another generic asian high fantasy MMO? Yeah, you're not going to be given too much time to say your other features aren't just generic half ***** crap. I looked for a gameplay video on YouTube, and that didn't do anything to make me think it's not just another Aion. If there is any gimmick that would make it stand out, it'll likely be horribly gimped like they did in Aion, where you can't fly most places, your flight time is horribly limited where you CAN fly, and even gliding sucks.I always found it odd that people instantly reject a game or comic simply because of it's looks. I've always found gameplay or story (in the case of comics and animation) trumps art style.
And then you have boob-holes in your shirts. I'm pretty sure that means you've got nothing of substance to offer.
Just in case it wasn't obvious, "you" isn't Father Xmas
Whoa, I just noticed that the email I got from them, at the bottom it says "This message was sent to ________@hotmail.com." in the legal text at the bottom... Only problem is, that's not my email address, that's not the one I received it at, and I don't even have a hotmail account. Is NCSoft's mail system sending messages out to the wrong person? All the other marketing emails I've gotten from ncsoft have the correct address listed... -
Quote:Couldn't a database be created that maps the internal names (that are currently exported) to the display names, and package that along with either Sentinel+, or another utility that takes the xml files as input? No need to then dive into the PIGG files on every run, just read the database shipped with the utility. CoD's database would likely be a good starting point. The file clientmessages-en.bin within the bin.pigg archive contains the mappings between the p-strings and their corresponding text. But in order for Sentinel+ to support that, it would need a PIGG archive handler (which includes, to an extent, a VFS implementation), zlib support and since the p-strings aren't sorted, it would need to pre-process the information for fast access when the exports are made. Every single time you run the program.
IMO, making it a separate utility is the better course of action, as it leaves Sentinel+ to focus on what it's meant for. Anyone using grep to search through the file could likely handle throwing some pipe action in there. -
Earlier, in AP1 on Virtue, someone had spawned a bunch of invisible objects. People were standing on them in mid air (STANDING, not flying/hover). There was actually one around Ms Liberty that I logged in inside of... I could move, but I'd always rubber band back to the same spot! Had to use /stuck to get out.
I think Zwill eventually came around and removed them. -
Quote:Yep, everyone is allowed on Beta now. Also, everyone is allowed to send PM on the boards, even Preems (not sure if receive was ever limited)! To BRAD (sorry for caps, but so you dont miss it)
You were saying your Sub lasped and you cant get on Beta? I asked in another thread about this and..Jack was saying you can access Beta even if you arent a vip, now. -
Quote:I doubt the people doing the American port will have a whole lot of resources... so I kinda doubt they'd be able to/want to modify (and keep modifying with every update) the game to work as f2p/hybrid when the main version is subscription based. Sure, it's possible... but I'm a bit skeptical, unless they're also toying with the idea of making the real versions f2p/hybrid as well, I doubt they'd put the money into it.And although the game is sub based out in the Asian market, it *does not* mean that it will automatically be sub based over here. Yes, there is a strong chance of that happening, however until it launches, never say never.
I was just going by what the *English* Blade and Soul website was stating in terms of sub fee. -
And suddenly Nalrok_AthZim's comment makes sense. Why the **** do developers do that sort of thing?

Quote:Yep, if it had been that art style (and the gameplay wasn't generic crap... which it probably is), I might have been tempted to check it out. Supposedly (according to them), it has a really powerful costume creator as well (although I imagine that means the normal stats-based-appearance handicap every fantasy MMO has).Yes! I had a moment where I was really sort of excited about the idea of a high-fantasy martial-art MMO based on the art style, like Okami (what a beautiful game!) Alas...
But, no, this is the industry that keeps pumping out the same game again and again, except with one minor tweak (*cough*aionwings*cough*).
Edit:Quote:Hyung-tae Kim, who worked on several games in the past as an artist (Magna Carta series, War of Genesis: Tempest, War of Genesis III and War of Genesis III: Part 2)
Quote:Aren't you assuming that it is going to be sub based? Even on the official website, they state that they still haven't decided if it is going to be F2P/Hybrid/Sub based... -
After watching the trailer on the website... Nothing about it seemed slightly distinctive. The art style of someone-someone? Did they also do the art for Tera, Aion, and the dozen other high fantasy asian MMOs, because it looked the same as all the rest.
I think it would have looked better if they had tried to model the game after the more stylized, less photorealistic art style used to draw the girl in the email. At least then they'd have had a distinct visual style, instead of the same as all the rest.
Although, the whole generic high fantasy, grindfest, sub-based, no-story (at least based on the website) things... combined with what they just did to CoH? Yeah, I don't really have any interest in it... And I bought Aion. And was excited about it. I'm never again going to pay anything for an MMO before I get to test it out (they didn't have a trial back when I got it). -
Quote:Your logic and reasoning has no place here! Lrn2plykthxbai1My points make so little sense the developers were actually going to implement the range change into City of Heroes based on said points, and a majority of the game's population would happily embrace it.
Yeah. Okay. You got me there, bud.

Is it bad that my initial reaction was 'I want that costume'?

I fell asleep while playing with my super group once!
Quote:That was the appropriate course of action to take in such a situationI broke away from the rest of the group and walked into one of the dead-end caves, into a group of reds and purples, and used Recall Friend to send the leader right into their midst. He was still sitting when he was immediately slaughtered. :grin:If you were going to be called a bad team, you might as well have acted like a bad team!
