((stab me? im waiting for tom or Squiddy_Attack to post so our part of the story can continue))
[/ QUOTE ]
OOC: Oh right. I think Squiddy left, since she never replied to my way earlier post. Ok, so we're just stabbing Tom and Cyrickain then. -
What Vern saw would surely disappoint him. Instead of the well kept and high tech buildings of Portal Corp surrounding the group, they instead appeared to be on the outskirts of a university campus. The First World University, as it was known, was a highly prestigious academy that had been established by Overmagus Archlich during one of his early goodwill tours of the world. At the university one could learn the fine arts of magic, science, mathematics, and engineering. The magic department was divided up among evocation, conjuration, and summoning. The crater where Acid's beacon had been seemed to lie on the magical end of the campus.
Portal Corporation was effectively gone from this world. Archlich had made sure of that.

The undead soldier nodded to himself as he looked over the computer's readout. Something seemed a bit off, but he attributed that to still being new at this whole undead thing.
"Very good, sir," the soldier said as the road block was raised out of the way. "Have a good day, sir."
Acid and Kefetasura would find that their method of fooling the guards would work quite well....up to a point. But such a point probably depended on where Acid was headed.
*************************************************
In the room where Thuel entered there was a plain oak desk. On the desk there was a thick file. Inside the file were pictures taken of all of the members of Acid's group along with whatever information was avaliable on them. Some, in Acid's and Essex's case, were very sparce, with nicknames given them in place of their real names and very little information filled out. Others, such as with the Cross brothers, were more detailed. Also inside this folder was a mostly blank piece of paper signed by Commander Feliks Danya himself. It read: "You have half a day to do whatever needs doing in New Mu. Once you are finished, meet with General Jack, he shall inform you of your targets' current whereabouts. They are considered armed, super powered, and dangerous. Don't dishonor the Secret Police by getting yourself killed."

The red robed mage sighed as he got closer and gave the other members of the party a stern glare. He also sneered at Tam and Experiment.
"No need to try and fool me," the mage said. "It's fairly obvious why you and your group are here."
He sighed and shook his head before stepping forward and putting a friendly arm over Midas's shoulders, drawing him away from everyone else a bit and pitching his voice low.
"I know what it was like when they cut your funding," the mage said and then held up a finger in case Midas would interupt. "No need to hide it. It must be especially hard for you, what with the large family you apparently have, but do not be dissuaded by sub-par demons like that cat and lizard thing. I'm sure you'll be able to pull yourself together and make something truly monstrous at one point or another and put some bread back on the table. But here isn't the place to start searching for inspiration or new techniques. I feel for you, really, I do, but I think we'll all be well off if you and your family leave now before the soldier start asking questions. Oh those soldiers can slow down the investigation for months if they smell the tiniest hint of duplicity!"
The mage had let go of Midas about two thirds of the way through his speech and was now muttering to himself at the meddlesome military as he started walking away. He turned around once or twice to make a shooing motion toward them but appeared to have mostly started to ignore them.

"Something was wrong, commanders," came a voice from around the corner.
A skeletal head, the symbol of the Army of Death engraved in between its eyes went rolling across the floor as though it had been kicked. The speaker followed the skull and bowed slightly toward Rosie and Cortianna. Not that it very easy for him to bow in his bulky power armor, but he managed it nonetheless.
"Good to see that you are both still alive," the rebel said. "There was an ambush at the exit of the tunnels but we managed to take care of it with minimal losses. With your permission, ma'am, I'd like to dismiss the troops to make their way as they can to Sector Beta. We'd be much less likely to be caught if we moved individually or in small groups."
OOC: I think that's everyone. Someone go and stab Tom and Cyrickain in the foot for me, will you? They need to come back. Oh, and stab Xey too while you're at it. -

OOC: *ahem* As of right now, I am officially erasing Diov's involvement from this thread. This means little more than Lord H'tead no longer being on top of Devious' car, thankfully. It also means that Diov ISN'T ALLOWED TO POST HERE AGAIN. Also, due to many comments and complaints I've seen on other threads, I'd like to ask people to wait a least two or three hours or until I post to post again. Thank you for your cooperation.
BIC: "Your identification, sir," the dessicated soldier standing next to the guard box said to Acid. Apparently he didn't recognize the Blood Roller's car or he really was asking the notorius killer for his ID.

...a wide, jagged edged crater dominated the immidiate landscape, bored as it was into solid concrete and was deep enough that one couldn't see the bottom. A ring of trucks and vans were parked around the crater and various tables containing instruments both technological and arcane had been set up, each of them avidly attended to by robed or lab coated individuals.
There was also a floating platform that was slowly descending into the hole that was carrying what looked like a more mobile research team than the ones arrayed around the crater. They appeared to be scanning the walls of the crater with various devices as they went down.
There was also a small detatchment of guards, mainly there to keep away the curious and foolhardy. They all happened to be facing outward, however, and the scientists and mages were mostly occupied with their equipment.
"Hey, you there!" a red robed mage shouted at Midas as he walked toward the group. "No pets around the excavation site and especially no children! If you wished to show the family what has happened here, I would suggest waiting for the official investigation to end!"

OOC: Xey, Tom? I'm going to edit things in your neighborhood. Dark Animator and his team teleported in next to you guys and the two of you are still together. Is that acceptable?
BIC: "Why hello there," the Dark Animator said after he had dropped out of the glowing rift in the air. "I believe my compatriots and I are here to rescue you two."
His compatriots came spilling out of the portal in rapid succession. They included a sextet of rickity looking but functional robots, a plate armored man wielding what appeared to be a rusty lead pipe, and a quintet of men armed with more modern weaponry and patchwork uniforms.

Thule's comm. crackled for a moment.
"Senior Operative Thule," a static laden voice said. "You are ordered by word of Commander Danya to report to our headquarters with your prisoner. Once you arrive, you shall recieve your new orders and the prisoner shall be interrogated. The Army of Steel members with you shall return to their barracks for repair and refit once you enter the palace grounds. You may, however, retain several of them if you do not believe that you are capable of handling the prisoner yourself."
The comm. then shut off as abruptly as it had turned on.
OOC: Check back several pages for Commie's description of the palace and the Secret Police headquarters. -
I would blame alternate dimensions. Dimensional highjinks happen frequently around here.

>_> *Solid picks up Essex and Hal and puts them on opposite sides of the room*
Yeah. I'm in.
Combat Toy: Time to rock the house! Hoo ha! -

"Shut up, you," Solid said as he walked into the room and poked Moonscribe in the side of the head. "Kid's got enough troubles without you trying to make him look bad in front of his girlfriend."
"Girlfriend? What?" asked Toy Dispenser as he walked in from behind Solid, Mini Bot and Combat Toy trailing behind him. "Did someone get asked out on a date while I wasn't looking?"
Solid snorted and flopped down in the middle of one of the couches, arms and legs spread out just enough to claim the entire thing as his own. He'd only move over if Hal or Essex came to sit with him.
Toy, meanwhile, shrugged and floated a few feet up into the air, stretching himself out into a reclining position while he watched Lyden and the others. Combat Toy slumped in a disagreeable hunk of metal off to the side while Mini Bot practised doing backflips using only its legs and tentacles. -

..."Take you under their wing"? Haha, you have a flair for the dramatic already.. that's a good sign! Sure, I'll help out. I'm a bit swamped with work right now, but send an offline message to @Tomanton and I'll help you when I can. I'm not the best though, so consider holding off until someone other than me takes interest in helping out.. >_>

*waves hand wildly* Me me me!
If you're online and need an RP buddy, shoot a tell to @Khellendrosiic. I have some lowbie Virtue heroes and villains that are always glad to have someone along.
Although I'm pretty sure Archlich would never say that out loud. >_> -

OOC: I don't know. I'm kind of stuck on the whole "Can't advance plot in space" thing. -
Cool. Thanks for sharing this. I liked.
Note to self: Strengthen search-fu. -
I think the only way to learn the backstory of the Kheldians is to play one through lvl 50 and do their special story arcs. However, I don't have a Kheld (Yet. >_>
so I'm not entirely sure. If you want, I can pass you the url to a website that has the information on all the Kheldian story arcs and Task Forces.
Here. -
Guys, stick to RP Courtesy, not RP Opinions. Like Leo said, make another thread if you need to make your opinions on AT in RPing felt.
Let's get this thread back on track.
If we even need too, we've already got lots of good stuff people have said. -
OOC: Ok guys. Seriously, enough now. Diov, thank you for putting an end to this. You're a better man for doing so. Alright, I'm going to have to ask anyone who's seeing this to hold off on posting while I edit this little comment into a real post.

Toy: *dressed up as Statesman* Who invited the demon girl? And why did she bring only five bottles of rum?
Solid: *dressed up as a zombie* Oh shut up, you can't drink the damn stuff anyway.
Toy: Yeah...well....Neither can you.
Solid: ....Low blow.
Small Toy: *dressed up like a ninja* ....
Combat Toy: *dressed up like GI Joe* I'm a REAL American hero, biyatch!
Toy Bot: *dressed up like a person* Fear me for I am illogical!
Large Toy: *dressed up as a vampire* Blah! Blah! I vant to suck your life with my anti-nanites! Blah!
Block Bot: *dressed up as a clown* Seriously, what's scarier than a clown that shoots lasers?
Mini Bot: *dressed up as Wolverine* Lookie! I've got claws! -
OOC: No need to argue about the energy source. H'tead just electrified the car's outside, allowing it to slip through air molecules much easier than before. The more power he pumps out, the wider the EM field grows, and the less resistance is felt by the car. Don't worry about real world physics as much in a comic book world, folks.
BIC: "This is Guardpost 23-Alpha," rasped the skeletal soldier into a phone whose wire cord stretched back into his guard box. "The intruders are heading our way. The resident magus has already erected a class three energy shield. All guardposts behind sector 23 are to prepare class five energy shields in case the intruders penetrate ours."
Without waiting for a response, the Army of Death sergeant leaned into the guardbox and hung up the phone. He then grabbed a glowing sword and SMG from a rack just inside the door. Behind him, a black robed sorceror finished erecting the energy shield which flashed into being with a metallic snap and added a hazy quality to the air across the road.
The other guardposts in sector 23, which were effectively all the posts that Acid's car could reach at the moment, also raised their shields, while sectors 24 through 27 started powering their own defenses.
Once Acid's car crashed into the barrier and was destroyed, the half dozen Army of Death soldiers would quarantine the damage in case that this was a rebel attempt to poison the populace. -
OOC: >_> I'll get to this place eventually, again. But until I make a definitive post, the guards wouldn't actually know how to make a high or even middle-class ID. They're just there to check things. The whole checking process is completely automated anyway and....
...
You know what? I need to stop trying so hard to make you guys not win. Keep your ID knowledge. I'm sure I'll make Kef's life miserable some other way. -
Solid pops out of the bushes next to the door with an actual zombie head on top of his own.
"OOGA BOOGA BOOGA!"
Trick or treat, yo. -
Ze list! It hast shrunk!
Archlich demands pictures!
Technically, he's only requesting a picture, but don't tell that too him. He'll blow something up. On a side note, I believe I was in the original picture. -
OOC: Archlich: *fumes*
I'd point you to a number of books I've read that have tons of space battles in them to valididate my choice of missiles, but the whole "Society just going into space" bit certainly qualifies here, so I'm fine. -

"Ever hear of the Rikti?" Toy asked as he drained the remaining power from the field, releasing Kreigg. "We're pasting their whole [censored] race."
"They blew up the boss's boss," Mini Bot said as it hopped down in front of Kreigg.
"And we don't much appreciate guys that happen along and upset the entire system of power," Combat Toy added as it slammed to the ground behind Toy, who didn't move in the slightest.
"Therefore," Toy Bot said as it landed next to Toy and stumbled forward a couple of steps to bleed off the rest of its momentum. "Therefore we shall be leading a strike against the Rikti attacking Paragon City."
"Break those and we break their whole effort," Large Toy said as it teleported next to Combat Toy.
"Then we only have to worry about their space ships," Block Bot sighed as it appeared next to Large Toy. "The manufactory picked them up by sheer luck on its long range sensors."
"Have any friends around that you can call up?" Toy asked Kreigg as his robots finished talking. "I'm mobilizing as many of the Rogue Isles supers as I can."
