Oh, I love the idea! As something of a rarity on Triumph - a PvPer who RP's...or is it RP'er who PvP's? - this is a very appealing concept. If it's on Virtue, I'd only be able to jump in at fairly low level (highest Virtue character is a PvP-useless Fire Controller, next is a lvl12 kin/rad defender...I forget what else I have there...over 60 alts and counting). I have some higher-level characters on Infinity, Guardian, and Liberty (and several 50s on Triumph), but I might have to work at levelling someone up a bt on Virtue, depending on the format.
We have an Arena League on Triumph, and I'm kind of the "token RP'er." It actually goes over pretty well...

The topic pretty much says it all. I want to do a sort of RPvP event that mimics a fighting tournament. A mysterious group called the Five Lords holds together a combat tournament and sends invitations to people, telling them to bring a friend and form a team of two, where they compete against other teams of two. You would be allowed to sign up as many/as few characters as you want, and band together with other characters to compete for favor of the Five Lords for a prize. This would, of course, be held on Test so everyone of different servers could band with/fight against each other.
The set up would be simple--sign up char(s), and interact with each other in between the matches on this board. This can be simple pre-match tauntings, taunting about your last victory, trying to get to know each other, convince the other guy to give up or throw the match (allowed, y'know, by force or by intellect), pre-fight RP fights, consoling the other guy about his loss, or even an inner monologue about the prize. Then, when the two teams see fit (if they're taking too long to get together, I can supply a specific time), they get together and beat the hell out of each other, and post the results here for storyline continuation.
Above all else, it must be stressed that this is for FUN, not pwnage. Never done PvP before? Hey, you're still allowed in. Don't have a PvP build? You can still kick [censored]. Not interested in PvP but still want to develop characters and interact with others? Come on in.
In short, would you guys be interested in a fighting-tournament-esque RP, or should I just throw the idea?
