Character slots in the character selection screen can now be reorganized by dragging and dropping. The sort order is stored in a file on the client, but only if "Remember Account Name is checked on the Log-in Screen
[/ QUOTE ]
The information is NOT stored on the client. It is stored on your local hard drive, as a file named playerslot.txt. While it remembers the character order, it STILL ignores the first character on your list, and automatically selects the character that was ORIGINALLY at the top of the list, pre-I12.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just for clarification, your local hard drive IS the client. The NCSoft hard drives (and computers) are the server, your computer is the client.
[/ QUOTE ]
When I think client, I think the updater. Silly me. However, problem I mentioned still exists. As well, there's this problem:
Sorting characters, then going back to the Server Selection screen, selecting another server, doing NOTHING, returning to the Server Selection screen, and going back to the first server will reset your character sorting order back to pre-I12 defaults. -

Added option to disable loading tips in the options window.

This does not work. I disabled them, and I still get them every time I load a mission.

The mouse scroll wheel will now affect scrollbars when the mouse is over a scrollable area. This can be disabled in the options window.
[/ QUOTE ]
Based on moving the slider for the Scroll Speed, and seeing a number in green, it seems that the default is 20, but it starts at 1. If 20 is the default, shouldn't it be set to that?

From the Closed and Open Beta process folks really seemed to love the Quality of Life game play improvements.
Give us your feedback about the QOL/UI improvements from Issue 12

Other than the above, I'm very happy with the QoL/UI improvments of I12! Great job, devs! -

Several issues ago, Zube had a kora fruit mission in the shard waiting in his que when a game patch was applied. An odd bug moved the mission's door from the shard to Atlas Park. I have never completed it. Sometimes, when they're particularly annoying, I will respond to PL beggars by saying, "SURE you can join me in a mission! In fact, I have one right over heeeere...!"

Nifty. If I make a char on Champion, will you let me tag along for a look-see?

shouldn't these raids have started by now?
[/ QUOTE ]
They have. Make sure you have the "System" channel assigned to one of your chat channels so you can see which zones are under attack. Their can be times of up to a couple of hours with no raids (it's random, with a streakbreaker to keep the time from going over 3 hours I believe, but that would be pretty rare to happen).
[/ QUOTE ]
It came pretty close to happening on Guardian this afternoon. I logged in at 2:08 PM EST, and an invasion in Talos had just ended. It wasn't until 4:14:15 PM that the next Invasion happened, at Cap, followed by an Invasion of Sharkhead at 4:14:54 PM.
Ah well. At least now I know that they shouldn't be more than 3 hours apart, for a worst case sceniaro. Thanks for the heads up on that part, Lighthouse! -

Not having to scrape that silver crud off will be nice. Though I wonder if they've stopped putting Auto Assault trial codes in with em and replacing it with maybe...Tabula Rasa? *hinthint*
[/ QUOTE ]
I just looked through the booklet that was included, and there are no trial codes of any kind.
Meanwhile, reading what others have said, I guess I'm pretty lucky that one of my local EB Games had the cards. The one right beside where I work was supposed to have gotten a shipment in at the start of this week, but it seems they never arrived...
I first saw them at Best Buy on Black Friday, so I knew at least one place in town carried them, even if it was on the other side of town. I was thinking that it was going to come down to them, or having to buy one online, and wait for it to be shipped to me.
And finally, I totally agree that it's retaded Wal*Mart carries CoH/CoV: GvE, Guild Wars, AND Tabula Rasa, but not PlayNC Time Cards... -
The last time I had to use a game time card for my account, they were only available in the red CoV-style box. Those cards were a PAIN to use, because the silver part you were supposed to scratch off to get your code would instead smear your code 99 times out of 100, leaving you guessing as to what, exactly the code was. You were better off just peeling off the entire thingy that was covering the code. If you didn't have fingernails or a good, sharp edge, it was a pain to get under it. Not fun.
Today, I got one of the new PlayNC time cards. I grabbed a quarter and opened the DVD case. Found the card on a cardboard back, popped it off, turned it over, and lo and behold! There was nothing to scratch off! It was easy to read (though the font was a little small), and easy to enter.
Lighthouse, Ex Libris, could one (or even both) of you pass on my compliments and thanks to whoever designed the new card? It's a SUPERIOR improvement, and now I'll no longer be hesitant to pick up a card when I need one. -

Full Access to City of Heroes and City of Villains®
All players with City of Heroes retail* accounts will now have access to City of Villains, and all City of Villains retail* accounts will now have access to City of Heroes. Players that didn't previously have access to "the other side" will find that they do now. Just log in to check it out!

While this doesn't affect me, personally, due to already having access to both sides, I see this as a good thing. We lost quite a few members of our SG because they didn't have CoV, and couldn't access the base...

Debt Wipe
After the launch of Issue 11: A Stitch in Time this Fall, we are removing Debt from all characters and giving you a fresh start. Actual date will be announced shortly. Have fun in the mean time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm... why bother? Anyone under 10 has no debt. Anyone over 10 probably doesn't pay much attention to the debt they do have. My main character is known as being, "Powered By Debt!", and I rather like that. A Free Global Rename token would be better, IMO.

20,000 Prestige
Also after the launch of Issue 11, all Supergroups will receive an additional 20,000 Prestige per Supergroup member, meaning SGs could acquire up to 3 million Prestige based upon their Supergroup membership roster! Actual date will be announced shortly.
[/ QUOTE ]
This will be nice, but it doesn't amount to too much. Those groups that, "could acquire up to 3 million Prestige" probably don't have much trouble earning 3 mil Pres anyway, and smaller SGs will only get a handful of Pres. I know, they don't want to go overboard, which is why the amount is only 20k, but... well, I can't really put into words how meh this makes me feel.
Other than the Access To Both Sides thing, I really feel they could have come up with something better for the other two. As a matter of fact, I think the best thing they could have done would have been to say, "Hey, we're gonna give EVERYONE access to both games, but we also want to give 2 other small Thank You gifts. Here are the guidelines. What do YOU, the PLAYERS, think will make good Thank You gifts?", and then let us give ideas. City Of... already has a pretty good fan base, and a pretty good interaction with them. This would have just strengthend that.
Still, in the end, at least they're trying. You have to make mistakes before you can learn from them. -
I am VERY leery of this whole thing. Back around 1999, WotC bought out TSR, and promised everything would either stay the same, or get better. They promised that TSR would remain a subsidiary of WotC. Less than a year later, TSR no longer existed, and there were major changes.
I've already been burned once by something like this. Therefore, I'm VERY pessimistic about the NCSoft aquirement of Co* going well. I hope, I want, it to continue like it has for the past 18 months I've been playing, but I'm not expecting it to. Here's hoping I'm proved wrong... -
EvilGeko's I9 BS/Regen Guide has been out since 4/27/07, and it's still not on the list...

REVIVE
Recommended slotting: 1 common recharge IO.
[/ QUOTE ]
I ended up taking Revive as my Level 49 power, and I put all 3 of my Level 50 slots into it. I put 1 Common Healing IO, and 3 Common Endurance Modification IOs in the slots. When I use Revive, I'm brought back with 100% HP and 100% End, and IIRC, I can turn my toggles on while the animation is playing...
I tend to solo a lot, and Revive has helped me quite a few times. Of course, I DO pull the mobs, so that if I fall, I'm all alone, and won't be killed as soon as I use Revive. Except for those few times when the mobs decide to dance on my corpse instead of going back to where I pulled them from... -
Move it to SYSTEM, and all should be good. As with most people, my only problem is that I have multiple tabs (10, to be specific), and when ALL of them light up, I have to click on all of them, so that I can see when something important is in one of the tabs, like a Tell, Team, or SG Chat.
