  1. It all depends on the Geek/Nerd Quotient of The Wife™ in question...

P.S. - When told of your comment, she replied with, "It makes it better to see the porn. More detail."
  2. OK, then I'll stick with the on-board card. And I just realized that the monitor is a TFT, and that the case has a DVI connection. I'll be powering down and switching over to DVI shortly.

Looks like the old card will be going to The Wife™ for her desktop.

    Thanks for the help!

    Glad I could help!!

One of the things to watch out for is the flavor text in mission briefings. A lot of times, they'll say you'll be flown in, or driven to, or take a boat to the place you need to be, but in reality, you'll click a door, and when the mission instance loads, the pop up info will mention something about you flying/driving/boating to the location.

AFAIK, you can't use the [IMG][/IMG] tags for a forum avatar, and there's no "Upload Image" button for avatars, just signatures.

I can't speak for Flickr or ImageShack, but PhotoBucket will give you an option called Direct Link. That's the one you'll want to copy and paste into the box for your avatar.
  7. I was pretty sure that the card I linked to was mine, but after looking at it again, I dunno... In the pics of the card, the part labeled as the "PCI Cardbus Connector" was different from what I remembered. I took my card out of my old case, and sure enough, it's not the same. My card's conenctor is one long part, and then a short part, while the one in the image is one short part, one long part, and then another short part. I took a pic of the card, and a closeup of the conenctor.

Maybe. If I can find a way to get rid of the display delay/lag. There's like a 1 second delay between keypress/keyrelease and when I see something happen. Makes it very hard for me to play...
  9. I think I know what mission this is. The mission door should be somewhere on the fort that Kalinda is standing on top of. When you load in, you'll find yourself in an instanced outdoor area, and you'll come out of an Arachnos Flier. There will be four Arachnos Soliders you need to rescue by defeating the Snakes guarding them. As you rescue them, they will join you, and fight with you.

Also, from what I remember, none of Kalinda's missions are outside. They all require you to go to a "door" of some kind, and load into the mission instance.

Click on the word Missions near where you bring up your Map, and select the mission Kalinda gave you. Once you've selected it, you should get a waypoint on your map, and if you rotate your charcter, you should find a yellow triangle pointing down, with a distance on top of it. When you get to it, that will be the door you need to enter.
  10. Man, I sure have a lot of questions about this new computer... Thank goodness you guys know so much...

Anyway, my new computer came with an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9100 "video card", but I have a BFG GeForce 6200 OC that was in my old computer.

Should put that into this computer, or just stick with the integrated card?

    Thanks in advance!!
  11. I noticed last night that there seems to be a bit of a delay between keypress/keyrelease and when it actually happens. For example, I'll press Space, and hear the charcater make the jump grunt, but it will be about a second before I see them actually jump into the air. Or I'll be running, and let go of the W key, and they'll continue to run forward for about a second before they stop.

Tonight, while playing GH3 for PC, I found that I had quite a bit of lag. I couldn't hit most notes unless I tried to hit them early. I went into the options, and calibrated for dislpay lag, and got an adjustment of 31ms. That was a little better, but not much. I did it 3 more times, getting 61ms, 67ms, and 73ms.

Is there any way to fix/calibrate the display lag for CoH and a 20" LCD Flatpanel monitor?

    Thanks in advance!!

On a 20" LCD Flatpanel moonitor? Bacon-yeah it does!!
  13. Ah yeah! I remembered hearing about the UAC! Thanks!!

And it seems that, for some reason, both shortcuts are pointing to my Test folder...

    I'll have to fix that.

    Thanks!! Extra bacon for you!!
  14. I must say, Art looks SOOOOO much better on my new compy!!
  15. Isn't that always the way? Get a new computer, and get new problems with it?

Anyway, yesterday, I bought a new computer from BestBuy. AMD Athalon II X4 630 2.80 GHz, 6GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, and Windows7 Home Premium. More than enough power to run the game, and make it look good.

    Here's my problem:

Every time I run the updater for the Live servers, it seems to do something to the Test Server folder, because when I run the Test Updater, it has to verify the image, and then it will download the file manifest, fix CityofHeroes.exe, and then fix various .pigg files. And when it finishes, it ends at 40.1 MB/31.6 MB...

And when I run the Test Updater, the same thing happens to the Live version. I have to verify, download, and fix. Every. Single. Time.

I used the CoH Architecht Edition DVD to install CoH to my computer, then used it again to install to CoHTest. I copied all of my files from my old computer over the existing files on the new computer, and everything was working just fine for the first two or three launches.

Any idea why it does this, and how to stop it/fix it?

Also, both CoH and Test have this ugly little blue & yellow shield on the bottom-right corner of the shortcut icon. Every time I click on one of them, windows asks me if I want to allow this file from an unknown publisher to make changes to the computer, and I have to click Yes to be able to launch the updater, and play the game. Is there any way to stop this?

    Thanks in advance!!
  16. Nice to hear from you! I look forward to you return!
  17. Good luck! I just got me a brand new compy (quad core, Win7 64, 6GB RAM), and I'm gonna be busy transfering files off my old one via my router.

    Poke

Oh NO you don't! You're not gonna Rick Roll ME! o.o
  19. Or Desdemona? Or Maelstrom? (I had to hit up the GR website. Kept wanting to call him Maleficent... o.0)
  20. And if you are in the Dual Pistols Closed Beta, you're not allowed to say you are.

According to the MMORPG.Com article about I17 and GR:

    Quote:
The Going Rogue "Complete Edition" has also been announced, featuring both City of Heroes & City of Villains, 30 days of game time, and the "Complete Collection Item Pack," which contains Alpha and Omega costume sets and auras, four stance emotes, and The Shadowy Presence invisibility power.
