  1. That was the first piece I saw of yours and the reason I first contacted you for a commish.
Can't wait to see it in color!

    =^_^=
  2. Hey DJ, are you gonna keep in mind those who requested commissions before when you were closed for business when you are coming up with the order of your queue? ::hopeful::

That is a great piece, you should totally ink and color it.

Seriously though, thank you VERY much for posting these prelim stages. I love it when an artist does this. It is a wonderful window into your creative process.
  4. Hey Foo, I don't have any art to trade. Is there anything else you would consider?
  5. Ahhhh! OK, I get it! Sorry, I thought maybe I was posting stuff in a way that was making it hard for people to see....but it was a Joke! Duh. Sorry.

    =^_^=
  6. So....what does that mean from my end? What would help? Is it the .png format? The original is a huge file...10 meg or so.
  7. Um, hey you two...I am hardly someone who should be lecturing others about off topic posts...but here I go anyway: Can you keep the off topic stuff to threads that are not stickied?

It just seems polite to me to follow the rules a bit more when it is a stickied thread. After all, this is supposed to be a collection of useful info for users of this forum. Filling it up with chatter makes it next to worthless.

Now, I enjoy sillyness, don't get me wrong! But I think that sort of thing is more appropriate in a regular thread.

    =^_^=
  8. I love your stuff AK! Just wish I had something to trade.

It took me a lot of work, went through a lot of problems, but I've finally finished the big guy.

With this one, I was going for the opposite of AoT and I think I managed to pull it off. I was attempting to emphasis TA's connection to higher powers, to being an earth bound avatar of a god. After a lot of work, and about 5 poses and numerous idea sketches, and a little help from the boards, I believe I finally have a rendition of Thor's Assassin that I'm pleased with and I'm sure the big guy will be too.

    So, here ya go TA...

    I'm a Pretty Assassin!

That needs to be submitted for publication in the CoH comic. Heck, that needs to be put on the side of busses!

    =^_^=
  12. Actually, I think your list is a good place to start. However, I would move the "starting with basic shapes" to the top of the list. If you start with that...you might end up with a rushed picture at the end, but the basic proportions will still be there.

Would you rather see batman eating a dounut, or crouching in the shadows ready to pounce?

Wait a minute...who is that fighting in the bottom left corner?!
  17. Hmm, you know what?

After having typed all that I flipped back to your images again and I don't really think it is going to be a problem for this piece. I like the pose with the lower hand more.

Oh, and I reserve the right to change my mind about anything at any time! =^_^=
  18. Hmm, well...it depends on what sort of attitude you are trying to bring across.

The image with the lower hand actually looks more like a "caught in the action" pose...the one with the higher hand looks more grandious. It almost looks flamboyant.

The higher placement does have the advantage of it being clear that it is his hand on the staff. Um, how to explain what I mean by that. Let's see...life is messy...often in a real life snapshot, overlapping images and shadows, etc, can often make it hard to figure out just what you are looking at. While this effect might be very realistic, when I am looking at a comic book style piece...where I am expecting a simplified/magnified reality...I don't like it when I am unsure about just what something is in the picture. For example, if I have to pause for even a moment to realize that the tiny bump sticking out of someones back is actually there elbow...I find it distracting and thefore it reduces my enjoyment of the overall picture.

Now, my long explanation of what I mean is probably making it seem like I think this is more of a problem in your sketch here then it is. I just think, that if you go with the lower hand pose...which I actually think looks more realistic...you will need to be careful to avoid the problem I am talking about above.

I totally didn't see the people on the rocks in the background... and yeah the bottom leg on the bottom guy is weird, and the one thrown back on the guy on the top.

The faces however, are very nicely done.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its simple physics..Watson ; We measured the combination of the strong free falling gravitation pull of the star and calculated the force generated by their collision and the result of the weird leg positions was simply derived by plugging the numbers into the equation.!! Make Sense??
