Computer Illiterate and Self Taught!

So there I was trying to get more space on my C drive and so I moved my COH files to H File which was mistake One.

When I tried to get back to COH, my computer said "Moving City of Heroes to C Drive" and that was over an hour ago, it sytill is loading.

If I delete my COH files and then reload the entire package on my C drive, will I lose my 33 and 14 level heroes?

What should I do?

Stop laughing, I am cursed by computer ignorance and at 65 years of age a lot of other stuff, too.

I used mimeo machines and typewriters in school and the only computer we had was a slide rule!. I distinctly remember paying .35 for a pack of cigarettes and soft drinks were .15 from a swamper cooler.

So although I am an official old timer in age (65 in May, 2010) I am new to online gaming. I have, however, been 'gaming' since I was 22 years old.

I use Windows XP and have tried the process of selecting the whole page, press Print Screen, transfer the screenshot from my Clipboard and paste it into a Word document. I have one problem.

That doesn't work for me. I try and nothing, zip, doo-dah, bupkiss, zilch. Past experience tells me you folks know how to do that properly and if you tell me I would be very happy.

oh. Then in that case I want to lead a SUPERGROUP, probably not to the 150 person/creature mark, but a Supergroup nonethe less.

However I shall start small and join teams who need an efficient Magic Tanker for the nonce. Maybe after a year the jump to Supergroup can be made by this old campaigner.

Why?

Think of it as an Army of Superheroes, I mean a force where specific cities could have heroes on station, but at the call of Superiors. It makes for a flexible striking force. Ideally a SG led by one, with up to 4 Generals To lead up to three Captains who lead up to three Sergeants who run one 4 hero squad each.

Just a thought.

PS. My youthful zeal is testimony that i never truly 'grew up'. I tried growing up, but all I could get was Government Work. Peter Pan has KW Stryker envy I am told. This game, this City of heroes, is so enjoyable to exercise, i love it. I spend up 6 hours daily on it (yes, I am retired) and still have time to pay bills, go shopping, enjoy my other hobbies and taking naps**

*A big Plus for us seniors. I truly thank one and all for the information and advice. Should i invest in the Big player's Guide for COH? I found it on EBAY for under $15.00. Is it worth the investment?

I like the name of Dies Irae. Like it very much as it is apocryphal and my character, Samson Moses, embodies the qualities of the Giver of Law, Moses and the Inhumanly strong Judge of Israel Samson. What buly fun to have a Biblical team without the posturing or sermonizing.

I am unsuccessful in getting team mates at my level (Currently 30). I want Blasters and Scrappers, a Defender and another tanker.

I want a team of heroes who can work well together and work for the good of the Team. They can work independantly or as a team. I have an empty baseplot and when the budget allows for phase one construction ( power installed and medical and workbench rooms established) is completed , my team(s) can build their own lodgings (within budget).

I have built bases for Champions the rpg, not the online system but nothing like what is available for COH. My team will provide input as to what is required for the base and their own personal habitats therein.

I am a retired State Supervisor (meaning I am not 20 years of age!) and enjoy City of Heroes as i am somewhat Home Bound.

I am also about 16 degrees of plumb, have a well defined sense of humor and really enjoy City of Heroes.

I want to simulate an 'armor piercing' attack.

Is adding a debuff that decimates and enemies protection to a set with a lot of damages, better than just adding more damages? Is it the best way to 'weaken' an enemies defenses so you can jump in and do serious damage.

Also any recommendations on toning down (or up) My RAGE SLOT So it doesn't become a liability after the Rage is Over. Rage is a great Power, classically it was the Minotaur who became enraged and then spent an equal amount of time weeping and grieving those it had just slain.

Let's Call him "BOB". Well "Bob" filled out the paperwork at the registrars office in atlas park to start his own Team and the Chap offered a base and "Bob" said "YESS!!!" without thinking and now the old silly billy doesn't want his base, but does want to keep his team. Once his team builds up enough Prestige he will look into getting a base.

So how can "BOB' lose his base? Is there a way to void his ownership. What about just abandoning it. "Bob" is worried i, er he, will not be able to get rid of the unwanted base.

So there I was in Atlas Park, registering my SG (DIES IRAE or Day of Wrath) and then jumped right in and ordered my BASE thinking I can use Influence and when i found out I can't (The exchange rate from Influence to Prestige is Ridikalus) I realized that the only real exercise I get in my retirement is JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS.

My Level 27 Magic Tanker sits now Panhandling for money. Yet I shall not give up!! I shall emerge triumphant. My tanker is a character that can beat villains two levels above him. He can be ganged up by Tanker Types at his level and WIN!!. (Took on eight and clobbered them. Like a machine. It felt so goooooooood.)

It's not a thing, per se. I want to have an open call for reelance superheroes at level 28 to 23. To start my own SG.

If this can't be done, I'll hit the streets loooking for heroes.

Although gaming for over 40 years, i am a computer **** dum. Is there a way to find out the CURRENT list of superheroes on a specific server?

I am on the Champion server, cuurently working out of Talos City.

My character's name is Samson Moses. I wear a peplum and cape, sport long beard and hair and a weathered face.

oh, and I'm about 8 feet tall or more.

I quit the SG. After five days of soloing, I bailed out. I'm soloing now and enjoying it and hope to set up my own Super Group. My bank account filled up pretty good in my start at level 26 and finishing the day at level 27.

Is there a way on the chat to put up a want ad for everybody to peruse and choose?

Just made level 27 and my Magic Tanker (Invulnerability and Super Strength) is a kick in the pants to play. He is relentless. When I start up my SG, I will be a solo artist for the first week or so and then start my recruiting. Got the name picked out and an idea for a moderate base. I would pass along what i have learned for newbies and tactics that have worked for me

I am a retired state worker (old fart) who has been actively gaming for over 40 years. Being retired is quite enjoyable and I have all the time in the world to play COH. I played Champions in the 80's and 90's, but COH is aces with me.

Secondly I have not seen any other members of the Super Group i joined. They have been offline for many days and although the Prestice I am earning alone is not the issue, but being the only one 'working' is tiring. I am thinking of leaving the group and after establishing a strong Nest Egg, strike out on my own and start Up my own ASAP>

Well wriiten information with a strong emphasis on personal experience. I have attempted various super heroes, only to have them go Pfffffffft! after the 23 level. So re-read the leveling table and designed a growth chart for my 8'4" flying Tanker and it worked! I am currently at level 26, working to 27. The Middle range of Enhancements really made a difference and for this character i had to Respec twice, but I have a Hero who can derfeat most of what he meets. I still have RAGE, The Earth Ancillary Power sets and Laser Eyes to get, but since i just crossed the halway point have plenty of time to work any problems out.

My character, Samson Moses started out a loner and joined a group at level 23. It's called 'death to all', but I have yet to do any team adventures and part of this is because the levels are so widespread. I also am the only one online the past few days and hopefully that will change.
