I respectfully disagree. I think it borders closer to a beefed up Timm Style, check out his dark phoenix and notice the advanced anatomy on the ribcage in his version of Acoustic...

He does share Juggy's fondness of repeating poses, but the coloring is definitely more animation, no black lines... instead he uses flesh colored outlines around the face and skin, or color matching outlines for costumed parts. That's strictly an Animator's characteristic.

Here's what he has to say about his favorite artists from his profile:

"Ryan Ottley, Dave Johnson, Cory Walker, Landron, anybody cartoony and detailed at the same time!!"

No offense to to Juggy or CB, but their styles are very distinct, CB reminds me of old war time posters, he has that retro feel, and Juggertha is a forum icon.

I've been watching him for quite some time actually. I dig how he cranks out the pieces... and yes he does have his own style that seems... well, I'd only be repeating the blend others have mentioned on here.

Either way, I enjoy his classic take on things.

I just had to post this one here. He's not in CoH anymore, but this is one very cool GIANT pic.

As you know, I'm a fan of oversized brutes... and this guy is worthy of the Juggy-seal.

Yeah i am so there for you guys. I know you must like seeing your characters done up. Thats why i had that one chibi done up of lightspeed and Juggy believe it or not...

I had one coming for a version 2 of Juggy vs TA(there where it says "Thor's Assassin vs Mystery guest", that was you), but it's been like 2 years since he got my money and i havn't heard from him or got any replies in a year. I tried buddy

Oh and Doug, did you get a full copy of that lightspeed from yaoumei? She doesn't have it in her gallery anymore and i wanted to make sure ya had a copy

Ok, I've had this itch for a little while now, and finally got around to scratchin' it.

Doug does great things on the forums here, and we all know his art is top notch. But what many people don't know, is that he's got a pretty cool character of his own.

The problem is, with Doug being such a great artist, I think most others tend to figure that once you have an amazing rendering like this one, there's really no need to have more.

Well, as both an artist and a collector, I beg to differ.


You can never have too many pieces.

I really dig the texturing on the skull/statue

I always dig his lines.

Two things...

1. I always love the see that wide variance in age artists give him (for me, I always pictured him as 40).

2. That secdon shot has an ... interesting... feel to it.

Although I agree with most of the comments on Liefeld's work, I'd hate to have anyone look at mine so closely (and with such passion).

He may not deserve to be famous, but I'm not sure he deserves all the bashing either.

Anyone who remembers Todd McFarlanes Spiderman series will attest to the fact that MORE than just great art is needed.
