Quote:Well, the Natural Origin stores have guns, ammo and landmines among the knives, throwing stars and giant jugs of steroidsWell it can be argued that assault Rifle is Tech, it stop being a simple machine, but I willing to say you got me.
Of course, almost every character is at least partially natural (excluding robots or golems and stuff). For example, my Sonic blaster is Tech because he received his powers from an implant in his throat but that doesn't help him run faster or jump higher. So I try to find "natural" solutions to those things. I'm sure a lot of other people's characters are the same way. -

I like the notion of a "natural" travel power but I have to chuckle a little at statements like "This fits great into my natural theme!" when the power involves super-human speeds, jump heights, etc. I suppose it's mainly the lack of graphic effects like the SS flare that makes it more suitable? There's no "natural" explanation for jumping 20' into the air, unassisted.
That said, I'm tempted to get it for my naturals just because it's closer than any other option. I was hoping to get more costume pieces to explain some of the travel powers for naturals (jet/jump packs, rocket skates, whatever) beyond the rocket & (non-animated) piston boots. Stuff where you can still have a slotted Fly and be seen wearing a jet pack rather than puttering about in the purchased one. But I guess we're not there yet. -
Most of the "weapon" archtypes are based on something besides Eastern martial arts. I suppose someone could argue that weapons are "technology" but, given that the Natural booster contains Asian inspired swords, that wouldn't be much of an argument.

Quote:Meh. I never said "unfair" and I said I was happy that other folks were happy with it. I suppose part of it is that "natural" is such an expansive catch-all from cowboy gunslingers to military types to kitchen knife wielding maniacs to justice seeking lumberjacks that I had hoped for more options than just martial arts.Yeah, I love how the technology booster lets me create a wide variety of technology-based heroes, and how the science booster doesn't just restrict me to the whole 'mad scientist' look. The natural booster restricting me to martial arts has zero precedent and is totally unfair!
I'm glad though that someone can still mention personal disappointment, say it's still cool that others are happy and yet still have someone color it as saying "Totally unfair!" As long as it's going to be that way anyway, next time I'll say I'm threatening a class action lawsuit and Paragon Studios totally slapped me in the face. -
Quote:It sounds okay for... what it is. But I was really hoping for more "universal" Natural choices than only a bunch of martial arts stuff. I'm not really interested in making ninjas so the booster sounds like a dud to me personally. Everyone who wanted something like this though, I'm happy for ya.Agreed.
So this is the "natural booster"? Oh boy, almost got intressed.
Edit: I'll say that I haven't seen the costumes yet so maybe I'll change my tune if they have more universal application. I'm just giving initial impressions of the news. -
Luckily, I have Gmail so I would assume I could.
Ermmm... I'd hope so at least. -
Looks great and nothing fills the torso like delicious souls!

The last bunch have been great. I love the different style of the Bokuman one but the couple more classic lookin' ones are exceptional as well.

Quote:Yeah, unfortunately the bulk of my images are in the "Ok, I'm done and your image is on my DA page" category rather than the "Here's the high-res original e-mailed to you" category. Which, you know, you get what you agreed to and I'm not complaining but that's what I have to work with.Just remember: use the highest-resolution/DPI file you have, and preferably something that's uncompressed like a TGA, if you have it, as you may see compression artifacts from a JPG on a print.
I suppose I'll just have to see what happens and risk my precious $2 to see how well it turns out.
The Staples/Office Depot idea is a good one though and I didn't think about it. My wife actually makes use of them for printing birthday invitations and stuff but they never entered my mind for this project. So thanks for the tip. -
Very nice. Always cool when you can make out the costume parts but it still looks like a unified "original" concept (rather than a game character made from pre-existing pieces).

As I collect various artworks of my characters, it occurs to me that future generations of the Jophiel bloodline should know who my characters were. Since I can't trust my heirs to go on DeviantArt, I need a way of making these images into physical objects.
Ok, actually I just thought it'd be cool to have some actual "pictures" of my pictures. I don't think many of them are in exceptionally high DPI (a few are) but I'm not looking to make posters either but rather 4x6 or 5x7 images. Anyone done this? I'd like something that looked nicer than you get from a $50 Epson inkjet printer so I was thinking of throwing them onto a flash drive and maybe hitting the Kodak photo kiosk at the drugstore or something.
Any tips or better ideas? -
I've got a small handful of things either on comission or whatever and they're starting to trickle in. Art from John Becaro of the Polish Princess:
Full size here
I also have one of the Lounge Crooner being worked on and tweaked which some of you might have seen already depending on who's on your DA watch list. Waiting for it to get "finished" before posting it here. -
Quote:That was my experience in RV. I decided to pop in one day just for kicks. There was a small group of heroes there (on Victory server) fighting a skirmish with a slightly larger group of villains. I was immediately invited into the hero group and no one smacktalked me or mocked me or whatever. However, I was instantly killed so many times that it just got old. I wasn't upset about it since there's no real penalty for it (I think you lose some PvP ranking/points? But I don't care about that) but there was just some massive learning curve that I couldn't muster the enthusiasm to deal with. This was on a defender and, yeah, I also had FlyEDIT 2: RV had quite a lot of PvP action going on, so I flew out anf joined in. I have to say, the smacktalk was minimal. Quite friendly, actually.
However, the gameplay was horribly boring. I would fly out, try to get some attacks in on various SJers zipping around, then get held, drop from the sky and die fairly shortly after that. -

Even more satisfying is to progress 50, 60 or 70 levels and entering some lost temple of an ancient powerful race or the extradimensional planar realm of a deity and finding... "Frothing temple rat" and "Shimmering planar cockroach".

That's awesome news about the comics gig, Cashoo. I'm hoping all the best for you.
Someday when you're famous, I'll have an old drawing of the Polish Princess that you did for me
Edit: Ooohhh... I just remembered I won a drawing of Tally-Ho from you as well. SCORE!!!!! -
Hang on a sec. Before I commit, I need to ask:
There isn't some Loyalist Preatorian version of Fusionette, is there? 'Cause that could send me over to the other side. -
My personal favorite was one of the Council hoverbots telling its companion "I hope I'm selected for the Vampyri program". I had to admire its optimistic attitude.
