I've put the Stan and Lou files into a "new" temporary MP3 player while I figure out a better permanent solution.
It will play the files in a random order in a pop up window. This is only temporary. -
Hehe thanks!
My new job is actually IT Manager for a Sports Field Equipment manufacturer... its funny, I broke into the wrong games industry! -
I miss it too.
But honestly, I couldn't restart it now if I wanted to. w00t Radio took 30-40 hours a week of my life to keep going, not to mention around $200.00 a month out of my pocket to pay for the servers and other crap.
I've recently got a new job that actually keeps me busy and I'm in the midst of getting married... somehow a life sprung up around me, I don't get nearly as much time to play anymore that I'd like let alone be able to devote time to keeping a radio station alive.
As folks have posted here there are alternatives. I listened to each of them after I shut down w00t, but I couldn't enjoy myself.. I kept saying "oh god they're doing that... that's so bad" or "they said what on air?" etc.
So I've started looking up alternative entertainment.. www.darkerprojects.com has been quite entertaining. They do audio drama's of 'fan fiction' style Star Trek, Doctor Who and other sci-fi. Its actually not horrid like the words 'fan fiction' tend to make most immediately think. -
As far as the IP's goes, it actually tends to depend on how the network is setup. Some networks are setup to show up only as one public IP, others are not. The ones that will most likely be affected are those from the same residential net connect. Institutions, schools, corporate networks, etc shouldn't have any issues.
Also as Rose said.. right now the only one who can see the results is me. -
and that ladies and gentlemen is why Rose is playing 2nd Fiddle in Perc .... the first chair requires a solid taste in humor

Hey folks,
I realize that the w00t Studios site isn't all you want it to be for hosting videos and I've realized how problematic the system I used is. The site's recent lag is an other issue that will be resolved soon as we'll be changing to a new webserver by the end of the month.
So my question for all of you, what things are most important for posting your videos?
Do you care if it auto generates video to embed it elsewhere?
What formats are most important to you for the site to display the video for everyone to view?
Personally I'm not a fan of sites that auto convert the videos to one format and size. I'd rather place a file size limit than reduce the quality of videos.
I created the site to help the community out and obviously its not what you want/need. So what can I do to make it usefull? -

Hmmmm, that list looks downright familiar...

Yeah seriously thanks that made my life so much easier.
I was originally going to embed each video in the voting window but that would have made the page insane to load.
Also just so folks know, a username is NOT required to vote. You do not have to register with the w00t Studios site to place a vote. -
Sooo how about voting now!
Sorry for the delay folks I had to reorder things a bit b/c we didn't actually have a "Both" category and Rose had to make the decision where those videos listed as both needed to go. -
The videos were nearly all created in some form of Windows Media format. WMV i suspect most of them are. Why can't you view them? Are you on a Linux machine?
If your using Firefox there is a WMP plugin. -
Well no one's posted in that thread for months, so if you left the search function at threads active in the past week or two then yea you wouldn't get any results.
Its not a matter of the search function failing, its a matter of how insanely much activity there is on these boards. You'd basically have to ask it to search for the past year but then you'd end up with soooo many results talking about old events etc. -
Yeah thanks Ashcraft, it definitly made my job of setting up the voting easier.
Sorry its not up yet folks I'm waiting on Rose to answer some questions before I go live with it. -
As an FYI For everyone, Voting will begin tomorrow around Noon Eastern. I'm putting the finishing touches on the voting system and need to put it through some quick tests with the final entries added into the list.
Keep an eye on the w00t Studios site tomorrow as I won't be able to post that its up from work due to a content firewall -
Perhaps you should view this thread ExLibris basically gave a sticky thread for this several months ago (like September I think).

Its all Copyrighted. Every single bit. The images from the game are allowed to be used by fans for websites etc but there are legal limits as to what you can do. For example you can't advertise a product or real world event using CoH avatars clipped from a screenshot.
Also, the music your talking about is also copyrighted and you technically will never have permission to use it for fan videos of any sort. Should the record company find out about it there is a 99% chance they'd give you a cease and descist order.
Granted the chances of them finding out are fairly slim but still.. it is technically illegal. -
The Poll system I'll be using should prevent that fairly well. It will track IP's as well as use cookies to determine if someone has already voted before. So their friends can come in and vote once for them but not over and over again.

Ok seriously you win the best clockwork costume ever award... OMFG!

SHhhh you weren't supposed to tell him the requiprements!!! -
Yeah, that would be the lag. Its been fine all day today for me.
-
The last few days there's been some serious lag issues with the site, its beyond my control. Things seem to be fine tonight.
As far as folks not being able to play the videos, someone else posted on these boards that they upgraded windows mediaplayer to version 10 or higher and everything worked fine. This would make sense, I've never encountered any errors with either FireFox, IE7, or IE6 (and I've tested plenty) but I do use WMP10 at home and WMP11 at work.
As far as me not being around lately, sorry but new job's keeping me busy and the firewall at work prevents me from seeing these boards except when I'm at home. -
Aye twas down for about 4 hours. She's up and fine now. Was just a little payment issue
-
You can't get a solid white, as these guys have suggested you can use the empty sky OR... if solid BLACK will do, there is a way to get that.
Load the characters in the sewer map and set the coordinates beyond the walls of the sewer tunnels, volia blackness all around you. -

this is not an official COH contest--- we just bribed them for some prizes....LOL

WELL, no restrictions beyond the no "Copyrighted Materials" portion of the contest.
There are plenty of podsafe music sites out there.
