I miss the days of W00T

ok so I know W00T still exists but not as it used to be. frankly I don't care for their W00T studios stuff. there are better resources for that stuff else where in my opinion. when W00T Radio was on the air I hardly listened to anything else. the variety of music was good, the spoof commercials and skits rocked and I got to hear stuff I normally don't hear any where else.

I am not faulting them for closing their radio doors they had legitimate reasons, but can any one point me to a comparable internet radio station? hopefully one that focuses on Freedom server where I was born and raised?

yeah I saw another thread that posted a bunch but they didn't have one for freedom and a few I tried were busted links or the media player link didn't work. am I the only one having W00T withdrawals?

Yeah, I really miss W00t Radio. I've been listening to SplitInfinty radio lately, it's not quite as good, but some of the shows and DJs are similar in spirit to those which used to be on W00t.

W00t had the benefit of being a 24/7 internet radio station, at least for me. I even found their pre-recorded sessions fairly entertaining. There a few SplitInfinity radio shows I just have to tune out for, not my tastes.

SI Radio has many DJs and listeners whom hold City of Heroes close to their hearts. We will be supporting many efforts to keep CoH ALIVE!!

I just started listening to www.wor-radio.com (world of roll players) so far it seems good but havent heard any spoofs or skits or funny songs like the good old days of W00T but we will see

For myself (and likely for the others who used to DJ for w00t) I miss it too. I've been in radio for a loooong time, in one form or another, and DJing for w00t was truly enjoyable.

And while the old w00t Radio will most likely never resurface, I'd go to the w00t Studios page, and check out the "w00t Underground" (the right-hand-most button on the top show button bar). It might salve the hurt a little.

Can always listen to pojradio , DJ Glacial from Justice runs it with a few other fellow players, DJ Frog's sessions are always standout as are Glacials. This is THE only radio station I listen to now, little bit of everything for everyone imo. Cheers

I miss it too.

But honestly, I couldn't restart it now if I wanted to. w00t Radio took 30-40 hours a week of my life to keep going, not to mention around $200.00 a month out of my pocket to pay for the servers and other crap.

I've recently got a new job that actually keeps me busy and I'm in the midst of getting married... somehow a life sprung up around me, I don't get nearly as much time to play anymore that I'd like let alone be able to devote time to keeping a radio station alive.

As folks have posted here there are alternatives. I listened to each of them after I shut down w00t, but I couldn't enjoy myself.. I kept saying "oh god they're doing that... that's so bad" or "they said what on air?" etc.

So I've started looking up alternative entertainment.. www.darkerprojects.com has been quite entertaining. They do audio drama's of 'fan fiction' style Star Trek, Doctor Who and other sci-fi. Its actually not horrid like the words 'fan fiction' tend to make most immediately think.

Well I hope you got a job as a radio DJ. I always though you did a great job with the interviews and things. Never created odd pauses or kept the guest hanging by themselves.

Honestly, I think you would go pretty far in the DJ'ing world. You are alot better then most early morning DJ's.

Best of luck to you.

Congrats on the wedding, Jester!

And since we're throwing out CoX-related radio stations, I'd like to add Virtue's The Cape into the mix. I admit that the only time I've tuned in was when Posi, LH, and Brian Clayton were on talking about in-game ads (and I usually only listened to W00t for The Jester's Court; MMO talk radio interests me). But hey, somebody might check it out and like it!
