Come hang out with us on Freedom!
-
So I usually pvp in bb and SC on Freedom with my SS/Fire Brute. I love this Brute. My first melee toon. She is IO'd out, but built for pvp at the BB and SC lvls.
The population was down in SC, so I thought I would try pvp in another zone. Went to Warburg.
I was having a good time, and doing well considering it was my first time there with this toon, until another brute challenged me to a duel. I believe this brute was SS/Willpower.
Lets just say that the duel didnt go well for me. I didn't even dent this Brute. I do consider myself an ameatur in this zone, and my Brute isnt built for high lvl pvp, but still. I would be surprised if ANYthing could kill that Brute in a duel. Once again, I think it was SS/Willpower.
After reading for forums, I was under the impression that /fire or /inv is the way to go in this issue. Are we sure that Will power doesn't match up? Furthermore, I am also concerned that my Brute won't match up if I rebuild for higher lvl pvp.
Does anyone PWN with their SS/Fire in Warburg in RV? Should I maybe consider rolling /inv or /willpower? -
I used to hate stalkers, but I am at my wits end and I think it might be time to consider making one. There are few loud, but very good, hero pvp toons that I would do anything to take down. So...
1. Are there any stalker pvp builds that are good at the BB, SC lvl? I am good at taking advice, and rolling toons that are supposedly pvp viable. I am finding, however, that they are good at high lvls of pvp, but don't do so well at the lvls I like to play at.
2. Is it possible to create a scrapper like stalker that can stand up and fight, or at least has a good chance of survival, after unhidden?
3. Can anyone suggest power pools that I may want to look into.
I know this sounds pathetic, but I am totally willing to do more research after being pointed in the right direction. I have never played a stalker before. -
Well, thank you all for the advice. TP foe is something that I have yet to consider. It didn't seem to work well, back in the day, but who knows now.
I have to say, I am becoming increasingly disappointed in pvp in this game. Or maybe I should say zone pvp at the lvls that I like to play at. It has always been my goal to have one or two really good pvp toons on each side. You know, so that I can switch sides when a massive wave of one side comes. At the lvls I am playing, villans are practically a joke. My Widow used to be great, but we all know what happened to them after the last issue. I can't really find anything to replace it. I am sure everything evens out at higher lvls, but why should we have to wait that long?
Well, I will read up on this Rogue expansion and hope for the best. Thank you all for your advice again. -
Not only am I playing my first brute, but it is my first melee toon altogether. I am playing in BB and SC mostly. I am finding the my SS/Fire brute does well against other melee toons, but I am getting worked by ranged ATs.
They usually Webnade or immobilize me and then blast away. Slows are pretty effective against me too. The only ranged attack that I have is my neme staff, and KO blow if I can get close enough. After that, I am pretty help less.
I know that some enhancements can help, but I am wondering if there is maybe a tactic for this sort of thing. Should I get Fly instead of Super Jump? Is there a way to get Immob protect at the Sirens call lvls?
Please help my Brute no suck in pvp. If anyone has advice, let me know. -
Thank you all for your response. It is actually really nice to see an actual discussion about what is the best Brute as opposed to there being a clear choice. I am leaning toward /fire or /inv. Is any particular set better at lvler lvl pvp? Pvp in SC for example?

From what I can tell on the forums... SS/ is the way to go. Which is of the secondaries is better for pvp?
/Fire
/Inv
/WP
Any suggestions? What might be a better build if it were fully IO'd out? This is not only my first Brute, but it is my first melee toon. I sort of like the graphics of WP and INV more than fire but I can deal if it turns out to be fun to play and successful at pvp.
