  1. Yeah I just got done asking the devs about this so I will let you know if I get a reply.

Initially I was also going to ask about rooting rules when it comes to NA but they do in fact follow them - Regrowth roots you because it grants the Bloom buff on top of the heal, which is correct. Lifegiving is a placed effect which also requires you to be rooted. It seems a little unfair that Regrowth does it because it is the most limited of all aoe heals BUT I don't know if bending the rules in this case is called for.
  2. Yeah I found it before I refreshed the page and saw your reply.

I think the main question is if Lifegiving Spores and Regrowth are following the rules. Regrowth is actually granting a buff so I guess that makes sense, and Lifegiving is a placed effect.
  3. I haven't had luck finding that formula for animation rooting so far - can someone explain it or point me to it if it is listed anywhere? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: nevermind, I found it on the third search attempt

    Animations and Power Effects

All click power activation rooting has been normalized to follow the below rules:

Any click power that damages, debuffs, applies a status effect, or taunts an enemy is considered an attack and will root the player while activating.
PBAOE ally buffs, single target ally buffs, or single target ally heals will root the player while activating.
Any click power that is a PBAOE ally heal will not root.
Self only buffs or self only heals will not root.
Any click power that is a 'placed' effect (e.g. pet summon, Teleport, Rain of Fire, etc) will root while activating.
Tier 9 powers such as Unstoppable, Moment of Glory, and Force of Nature will root you for 1.5 seconds while activating.
Self-Rez powers are a special case. They will not root you while activating but they have had a 4 second immobilize effect added to them. You will still be able to use powers/inspirations, turn on toggles, or attack. For powers like Rise of the Phoenix which have a secondary damage component and should be rooted, this prevents them from being less effective. Rez powers like Revive and inspiration rezes will now only be immobilized instead of a root. Consequently, the animation for Rise of the Phoenix, Shadow Maw, and the Kheldian self-rez have been slightly sped up to account for this change.
  4. Someone said that the Performance Shifter proc was set to 1.5 PPM - isn't that a massive nerf? Wasn't it a 20% chance to go off in Stamina every 10 sec before?
  5. What about Numina or Miracle uniques? Same deal?
  6. Yeah, I was planning the same thing - grabbing the new Leadership power instead of Vengeance.

    Oh really.... hmm...
  8. Curious: if you slot a Performance Shifter proc in Lifegiving, does it grant the pseudo pet endurance, or me, or teammates? etc.
  9. No Regrowth?

EDIT: just saw the last sentence. Yeah, no way in hell I would skip Regrowth - it's a good self heal on top of being the main heal for teammates.

I don't think the OP would be happy with that at all - but I get it.

It could use additional tweaks, but I for one am very happy they fixed a lot of it awhile ago when it got proliferated. It's designed for constant spam use on multiple targets.

The inability to target yourself would be more reasonable if the powersets that are ally-only were generally better at providing team support. But they aren't.
    Compared to what?

Oh crap, I thought you were talking about self-useable buffs.
  14. Yeah there is only one for sonic resonance.
  15. It's a tricky balance, no doubt. I'd think we would see more forcefield and sonic resonance defenders for sure, if this was ever changed. Forcefield would be able to softcap themselves with just SOs and sonic would be resistance capped with epic armors, probably - I'm thinking defenders when I discuss this topic by the way.

Yeah, I'm on the fence. I see both sides of the argument as valid.

In my experience people who aren't interested in teaming either don't roll support characters at all, limit themselves to those support characters that solo well or just accept slow soloing. I've never heard of someone who said "I hate teaming but I really, really want to play an Empath so I rolled one and always team with him while hating every second of it".

Also anecdotally when it comes to teaming I see a lot more strong solo characters than I do strong support characters especially at high level and Incarnate content. To me this indicates that a lot of people are rolling characters based in a large part on solo performance and then teaming with them.

The fact is in a game where a single character can solo content intended for a team of eight there's no real "need" to team at all. Most people who do so either do it for the specific rewards of, more likely, because they enjoy teaming.
Same response - although they did add the damage buff mechanic to defenders and the overpower mechanic to controllers. Corruptors have nothing to complain about.

Well, I guess we can look at the new sustain mechanic for blasters and see how that turns out in the end - like I've said in the past, for several of the new sustain powers it is like having a constant speed boost when it comes to endurance recovery, and having a spirit tree/triage beacon on you at all times.

(which is awesome, by the way)

Wouldn't it encourage more soloing, the opposite of what we said we need?
  20. Half a billion? Geez I should pay more attention - I only ran that blockbuster event 3 times and twice I got the proc. They've been sitting on my character's inventories and I've never slotted them. Time to sell and get some dough!
  21. Ehhh I'm on the fence with this one. If there is anything this game needs to keep promoting, it is teaming with other players. Brutes are the tankmages in this game as it is, at least, that's how it seems much of the time. I think there should be a strong need for a defender on a team, as an example.
  22. Yeah most find Time to be a very busy set - powerful as heck too.

  24. Yeah believe me, I was excited at the idea of Lifegiving as I've wanted a location-based recovery power for awhile now, and I asked for buffs to the end recovery during beta, but Synapse buffed the heal on it instead.

    ...I don't get it either.
