Yeah I think you can only use those once an hour, no? My VIP one is like that anyway.
  2. I've been here longer than many of you (early beta.) My wife and I have been playing CoH for over 8 years...

That said, why is it magically the publisher's job to personally tell you anything all of a sudden, instead of the development team? Why are the people who worked on the game mean nothing to you whatsoever now - and their news of the game shutting down something you choose to ignore? Did you go and thank NCSoft for the issue releases instead of Paragon/Cryptic all these years?

Also, the TonyV thing - he's pretty much given up his personal efforts and wants us to contact the gang at NCSoft. There is no 'talks' between Titan Network and NCSoft because NCSoft has so far refused to even give one reply to TonyV and Titan Network.

I want this game to continue but I'm realistic.
  3. Yeah, I'm sure they will. They gave us their answer in those two links. I don't see the point of them saying anything if there is no chance, so there you go.

No, because no money can be spent on it with the rare exception of those who have somehow successfully purchased cards. The store will not let you purchase a sub, and will not let you purchase points.

"We're not done yet" - GG

    Ugh...
  7. I'll put it in the next video. I've already sent my own emails.

Curious: should we be translating these into another language?
  8. Confirmed Double XP is on, but the Ski Chalet seems to be locked still. I remember Zwill mentioning he requested it be opened.

    News blurb via video.
  9. Hell, just get someone that runs the Machinima Realm channel to do it.

You might be confusing the global system with that time they wanted to tie real names to people's forum posts. That didn't last long.
Yeah maybe that was it. I know StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 use the same system.
  11. I just realized I never put in any text towards the end - and it's only a single mission. I might log in tomorrow and mess with it some more to make it less DERP.

Ok whoah, whoah.... just stop. Whatever it is, nothing related to NCSoft, Paragon Studios, and City of Heroes is worth dying 5 years sooner.

It's ok to be sad but come on...
  14. To those two people having trouble with leveling - you can re-run hearts and also run far lower hearts and get xp.

Last I remember, WoW's global system was tied to the name you told them when you made your account. Which you can't change without lots of hoops. And you can only chat with people you've friended. Who can see your name. So you're giving out your real name to everyone you can chat to.

Nothing like our system which lets you join whatever channels you want, which can be filled with people you don't directly know, and talk to them.
Yeah you are way off - it hasn't been like that in years - and when that did happen, it didn't last long.
  16. Yeah it was just me playing through the tiny mission, nothing too exciting - it's more about that I had a chance to start up a funny stress-relieving arc. You guys are going to make me want to actually put work into it though haha...

The trading house was open early in the evening -- it crashed sometime around 8 EST and didn't come back. I sold some stuff but the prices aren't a big improvement over vendors.

Like I said it's a fine game, but it has flaws. Leveling's too slow, content is unevenly distributed, money is way too hard to come by, and combat is twitchy and unfun. All in my opinion, of course.
Yeah this is certainly different from what the rest of us are experiencing. I agree that leveling is slow though. We do know that some of your presumptions were off from the earlier post so hopefully more experience and knowledge will help you enjoy things more. Try a different race and class too to see if it's just a matter of it not clicking with you.

Also, buy all of the gathering gear - all of it - and grab everything on the map - it helps with crafting and gets you xp every time you get something.

See this is where I could accommodate you easily - I could record a play session if you wish for proof.

There are no NPC heroes to adventure with you, and all the quests take part in the shared MMO world instead of an instance, therefore you get griefing. (They've made most griefing impossible but where it can occur it still does.) Worst of all, quick arcade reflexes are a core component of combat; if you hate blocking in CO, you'll despise the absolutely necessary evade mechanic in GW2.
Ah, here is where knowledge comes in. Your personal storyline is intentionally given level gaps so you can explore and do other missions. The missions in the game are the hearts on the map. I have never seen any 'griefing' in the game yet as there is no such thing as kill-stealing - you don't split xp/drops at all - everyone gets everything so everyone is encouraged to help everyone else. I actually haven't used the dodge mechanics yet, believe it or not. Maybe it's my class but I haven't had any need to dodge so far. Granted, I am only level 20ish so maybe it becomes more necessary.

Also, I have never purchased or crafted any bags in GW2 - I've gotten everything automatically and have never even filled half my inventory space yet. No 'inventory tetris' so far, thanks to the brilliant collectible deposit ability from anywhere.
  20. The 'Cinder' and 'Fight On' is from the Killer Instinct series - man I miss those games. I wish Netherrealm could buy the rights from Microsoft/Rare and revamp it.

My character's first name happens to be Cinder so I thought it fit.

Blizzard does it too, and I wouldn't be surprised if this happens more and more.
  22. I guess I've been lucky then - only got the one I posted and nothing anywhere else.
