Got a Necro/Poison hovering at 22 that I don't play anywhere near as much as I'd like to. He's one of only 2 characters from my original 10 that I made when I started playing in the EU, still got the 2nd (and all following) anniversary badge ^^

There is no such thing as "raw" energy. Electromagnetic radiation is as close as you are going to get.

Cheerfully ignoring the fact it's all comic book physics anyway, they do seem to have got their terminology a bit mixed up with the Power Set names and corresponding power effects.

From RedTomax, "Energy" Blast attacks are all a mix of energy and smashing damage - you need to go to Electrical Blast to find pure energy damage.

The best spin I can put on this is that Energy Blasts are actually plasma based, hence the smashing component. This might also (sort of) explain the KB in Energy Blast attacks; if they were really 100% photonic energy you'd need rather huge amounts to knock them over via the momentum of the photons alone! (Hmmmm, guess it could be some sort of ICF ablation effect...)

WRT a Light based set - The Legacy Chain have members from Light who use a white/yellow tinted energy blast so I'll agree that along with PBs, Energy Blast is your Light Blast set. (I would never have thought to include Illusion, however, not having played it that much)

Holy is something I've seen mentioned before, possibly even by me. Of course, you just know it'll be great and then villains won't get it because it doesn't fit the theme, and then the PvP whining starts... tangents are great, yes?

I'm rather certain you get one at the cap of the TF/SF/Trial. This way, it doesn't "punish" level 50s who want to try and get lower recipes.
