ta corruptor - ta controller -ta defender - need more grounders - acid arrow does wonders for stalkers - ice cold is fun but very end heavy running both fog/air
sonic pain corrs are good, mind therm troller..
ill therm can work well but you have to concentrate on team build - blind is a great hold powerboosted sets up for dmg dealers.. I have seen earth therms do really really well in zones...forged poo man ftw. -
now if they can put a dampening aura around the whole zones that shut off hd/ts and dr...

so who won the second match?
-
Quote:kk lol just trying to follow the points, so the other forfeit was for points so why not forfeit here? Wouldn't that put you further ahead in points? We won that round anyway, so it really wouldn't help us out if we pushed for a DQ. It was a good round too. We joked about DQing them just so they lost the 350 points though.
What they need to do is fix the bug that puts second place in as first in arena match scores after they've been over for a minute or so. It makes doing gladiator tourneys hard.
I'm confused.. -

for me it is - being faster than your teammates is a huge plus, being faster than the other side is too. I was amazed when I switched to running si/swift/hurdle with sprint/ss/sj on over the old slottings. The end use is nothing to worry about - people run no fitness builds all the time. If people used kins then you would not have to worry about it :P

i wish it was on test...only beacause I cannot afford to io out my illusion emp with my good build but I can dupe ios to test to do it...and I am not stepping into any 6v6-8v8 with under 1500 hp
-
uhh..wasn't HP in Velocity and weren't they pretty much one of the best sg's on test??
not riding nutz - I am asking :P -
capt of my dream team and probably 50% of the people who pve...

Vindizzel suggested that a forfeit = no advancement so if you tried to force a ton of ties and the other team just had to leave due to time the match would mean nothing. Pretty good idea!
-
You guys play 8v8 now on the D8 sides. From the scores the top two teams are U2BG and SMD (looks like anyhow). Out of curiosity what have those two teams brought against each other as far as lineups?
-
I think it was GMW and Renegades who tied like 4 times in a row on a third match for #1? They just kept playing till someone won.
(I think Jal and Velocity had one where they tied a few times too or VR and Velocity, the old forums are gone so I cannot see..)
I would think if you are going to do the double blind line up thing then the chances of a tie are much less. -
would this be on test like the old one? I think that would be better since you can have a lot more ios and builds avail
- just my 2 cents.
-
it does not actually as the movement penalty with stealth + dr makes you slow. An arena emp has one job buff (counting heals as buffs) - You need to be faster and jump higher than the other team. It would depend if people run kins or not (yes kins...with dr speed boost and ir is awesome for blasters).
I would say a petless ill emp with all the fitness powers and accos can still get close to hp cap. Threw it togehter fast but 1526 hp 37.5% recharge and over run and jump cap for DR.

Quote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBOV8...layer_embeddedAs a D6 player, the league has already taught me everything I need to know about high-end pvp: if you can't beat it, ban it, DQ it, or ragequit.

hmm. it seems right there you could eliminate any need for issues if you only allowed the new people to play in the "d6" league and the veterans in the "d8" league. I understand mentoring them and you can do that in practices and kickballs but letting 1/3 of your team be comprised of vets when it is supposed to be a fun experience seems a little ridiculous. You said it yourself, some of the new people are playinng in the vet matches. That would indicate to me the new guys can go it alone against other new guys.
Either way gl in your endeavors... -
Quote:Just an observation but how is this at all encouraging new pvpers or any sort of "fun." From what I can tell from the fourms postings - your d8 teams either tried or did stack their second round draft picks for d6 with vet pvpers. You play 6v6 and can have 2 of your "league" vets on the team so at minimum your playing 3 vets and 3 new people in a match. Even with everyone plays all your doing is rotating 3 new people in with the same three vets. Even with the less weighting of points all your encouraging is team stacking and if I read the spirit of the league correctly that was not the intent....Ok honestly my eyes almost crossed trying to sort through the post, lol. I am sleepy so if I am not answering what you are asking just let me know.
D6 and D8 are 2 seperate divisions of one single team. Do not look at them as seperate, but one big entity. All scores are added together and after finals are added to the semi-final totals we have a winner. The team with the highest cumulative score.
The reasoning behind this is to require the D8 (ladder) people to help out the D6 (hopefully future ladder people) and for there to be a penalty if they don't. If you notice there is more pressure on D8's to win if you look at the point value. We didn't want D6 scores to count quite as high so that D8 counts as the bulk of the points in the long run. However D6 scores count for almost as much so that the penalty for not practicing with them could have a huge effect on a teams final scores.
So to answer the question add all the points together for each team and no need to post seperate scores for each division. Keep it simple. Kill counts are totally irrelevant. A win is a win. Doesn't matter if it was by 1 point or 30.
IMHO you should not allow any "d8" players in "d6" matches and force an everyone plays rule. I mean if you want to have a ladder, have a ladder, if you want to encourage new pvpers with a league - do it right.
Just reading all the mess around who got what player and who makes the rules or decisions...it's enough to make anyone just want to zone pvp.
